the uploader must be joking when he says its a good indicator of how ford could have done when trindon holliday def ran the fastest in that last leg and almost caught up
I'm going to guess Holliday ran about a 9.1-9.3. He was flying, but not as much as some of the sub 9 runners. Look at Bryan Barnett at the 2009 IAAF 4x100m final for Candada. He was flying, and that was a 9 flat. If Holliday had gone pro, he could hhave been pretty good. Maybe the anchor for the U.S
Trindon Holliday is the fastest of these guys. Look at how far behind he starts and how close to the winner he finishes. I would love to see these anchors run a straight normal 100m. He would definitely win!
@033Rob honestly i dont know... but if you look at this vid, you can see trindon outrunning everyone of these guys. Thats just a fact. Maybe this one run was like when Gay beat Bolt... Sometimes someone who isnt the fastest the next day wins. But i dont know why :)
look up bob hayes and watch the fastest split(anchor) time and crazy come from behind win ever. and it was run on a loose dirt(cinder) track 46 yrs ago. on todays modern surfaces hayes would put these boys to shame.
@Kingbodybuild well of course, to be able to run a 38 actually a couple people have to run under 10 flat. That mean holiday probably ran a 9.6 maybe lower...
Holliday probably ran closer to 9 flat. 10 flat is what he runs out of the starting blocks in the open 100. At the college men's level, the second, third and fourth legs all run well under 10 seconds in the 4x100. Only the starter takes longer than 10 seconds to run his leg. By comparison, Usain Bolt runs 8.7 when he's running the second and anchor legs. The third leg is a little slower since it's run around a curve.
@HattoriYakuza I'm positive. In the open 100, the top guys can cover the middle 10-meter segments in 0.83s, and Bolt can do them in 0.82s. By the way, 8.7 seconds is 11.5 m/s, not 13.
@HattoriYakuza The discussion is about 4x100 splits, not open 100 times. Don't you know the difference? Are you a track & field fan or just a casual observer of the sport?
JO from Texas A&M is a 400 runner they put on anchor he bet jacoby ford too after he ran bye him to get third....jacoby ford is nothing past 60 meter he is slow
Holliday was balling on the last leg

@jazzcyclist Are you sure? Usain's PR is 9.5 not 8. 8.7 is about 13 meters per second which is basically dinosaur strides.

@jazzcyclist the world's fastest 100m meter time literally is 9.58. nowhere near 8 seconds.

@HattoriYakuza split times are way faster than open times because the runners are already sprinting when they start their split.

@Kingbodybuild I got a 8.97 for holiday's split
