A GIRL WHO WROTE A LETTER TO ME WHEN SHE ABROAD TO THE US,MENTIONED SHE LISTEN THIS SONF EVERYNIGHT ONLY BECAUSE SHE MISSED ALL FRIENDS IN TAIWAN AT YEAR 1963.HER LAST NAME IS DENG,NOW J MISSED HER
I loved this song as a kid but had forgotten about it. Thanks to youtube I rediscovered it some time back. I made an attempt at recording it myself. Stop by my channel sometime and check it out.
I remember good old school-times we sing this fucking song with our teacher herr stangenberg <3 =)! it was rly awesome and i think he got the best version :D
I have never heard her version of this wonderful old song before. This is such an incredible song I have always loved it since I was a kid. I was recently inspired to attempt to sing it myself. I am very much just an amature singer but I would be pleased if the people who like this song would stop by my channel and give a listen to my rendition.....Terry
@Dustyrustee It was at the KLIF Summer Sound Spectacular in 1963 at the Dallas Memorial Auditorium . I was 13 and probably the youngest kid to have gotten close to the stage. She was very fashionably dressed in a light pastel green outfit and I have no recall of what anyone else wore except Kirby St Romain because he was so greasy and had no talent whatsoever. I believe he is a comedian these days.
The first LP I ever had was Jackie De Shannon and 500 miles. The story around this time makes a novel. My dream is to see Jackie in concert.I'll keep on dreaming.

Nice version, but still PP&M's reign supreme!

Really really nice version. I remember her so well. Being a teenager in the 60's was a gift from God.

This is just gorgeous, tingling all over version ! It would be just perfect with some film or some old locos...

Magic! What a beautiful "break" in her voice - real feeling. Can't get too much of Jackie. Thanks for posting.
