You are right in stating that YouTube wouldn't even bother fiddling with a video like this. However, have you heard of their Algorithmic Demotion technology? I can understand people questioning about the views, because the counter gets stuck at around 300 views, which is why you sometimes see videos with more ratings and comments than views. But, this has more to do with saving bandwidth. But, it can also be used to censor obscene content and prevent them from appearing on the front page.

What was funny was the fact that they changed the view count to read less than the number of ratings. Why didn't they reduce the number of ratings? Geniuses.

Control seems to be the name of their game. I posted a video that had 1000 hits in the first week, then only 700 more in 8 following weeks. And some people complained that they could not post comments. B A S Tuds.
