  • WTF! DRIVE SAFELY!

  • corners to die for cheers i'll wind it up then

  • i nearly got hit off yesturday because the stupid driver didnt look in his mirrors how long has these signs been up? and they still dont watch out for bikers :(

  • FUCKING CAR DRIVERS !

  • check your mirors drivers...ALWAYS!!!!

  • It's not a question of looking for MC it's a question of LOOKING. End of.

  • There's actually five top causes: the fifth is drivers inattention due to reading yellow road signs while driving.

  • Using your turn signal? What a concept! If people in cars would stop driving so poorly, there would be less accidents. Your turn signals are there for a reason, not a fashion statement.

  • I had to download this video and mirror it to feel safe.

  • I want to try and make good rear observation according to google is "so clearly i want to try to make good reruns of asian" ???

  • @davineutopia. I was nearly killed by a woman driver who was turning left approaching a major road and didn't yield to me yet she did to the 3 cars in front of me. Forcing me into oncoming traffic. I had a head on with a car and blessed I did a few somersaulst into grass. But its only a tiny % of motorists would do this. I had lights on and under speed limit and not tailgating

  • The motorist turning right out of the junction, minor to major, doesn't see the bike 'cos his brain is tuned into cars.. especially cos the bike usually only has 1 headlight. If the bike had 2 headlghts, like cars, then it looks more like a face - two eyes. The human brain is tuned into that much more than just a single headlight.

  • I was knocked off by a car doing a last minute u turn while I was filtering up. I had a hi-vis, white lid, everything that I could do to make myself seen and the driver didn't even think to do a second glance...

  • @ICanSlightlyFly I can honestly see the method of UK lane-splitting to be pretty darned dangerous compared with the US style. We make it illegal to and strongly discourage operating in the opposite lane of traffic here instead of telling our riders to split using the opposing lane. And splitting between the middle two lanes directly between opposing lanes of traffic is such a huge risk that while not illegal, nobody does it for safety except for SQUIDs.

  • Think bike? WTF? I've heard about a think tank but not a think bike. Are they serious? Will a think potato be next?

  • @your5starvids 'Think bike' is short for 'Think of Bikers'

  • OLDEST TRUTH: BEFORE YOU TURN< PUT TURNLIGHTS< LOOK AT FUCKING MIRROR AND TURN!!!

Do not turn, untill you check your mirror!

  • @B999wppl mirror, signal, manoeuvre.

  • @B999wppl Not quite. At least here, you're not supposed to signal BEFORE you've looked over your shoulder, and checked your mirrors. Then you're allowed to signal, and then you need to look over your shoulder and check your mirrors before you turn.

  • @B999wppl don't forget, look over your shoulder

  • you drive on the wrong side of the road

  • at the end where he uses a measuring tape between someone's legs, I was like, lol, he's measuring the length of someone's cock

  • blame riders or car drivers? i blame human..

  • @jasonyeozhishen Sometimes, neither of those seem's like a human! :)

  • The throttle works both ways!

Actually, that's a good pint lol

  • What a bunch ignorant tossers, there are good car drivers and bad just as there are good riders and bad, the people with small dick issues are the ones who think their mode of transport is better than others

  • With several bikers in my family, I always keep a wary eye out for motorcycles. Even if they're the ones driving like idiots, I'm the one with the ton of metal cage around me. I'd rather be careful than have someone get hurt just to prove a point.

  • i can tell you one reason they crash over there.....they are on the wrong side of the road. Hahahaha.

  • there's only one cause... (two wheels and stupidity)

  • @clarifaco FUCK YOU STUPID CUNT! i had a car pull out on me yesterday i was not speeding or doing anything wrong ,and this blind old duffer pulled strait out without looking! lucky i'd already started braking because when you've been riding bikes as long as me you can spot a careless arsehole a mile away. that statement is possibly the most retarded thing i've read all year! pull your head out your ass and think before you make yourself look like a retard!

  • @vince1433

    i stand by my statement

  • @clarifaco i've just told you that a car pulled out on me when i wasn't speeding or doing anything wrong, and you still think the only causes of motorcycle accidents are "two wheels and stupidity" ? that just proves what a stupid ignorant wanker you are! sounds to me like you've just got a chip on your shoulder about bikers! what happened? did one steal your girlfriend when you were a teenager?

  • @vince1433 It's percentages. Since there are a thousand times more cars on the road as bikes, it might seem as if the majority at fault in accidents is the car. But ultimately, we're all responsible for our own safety, which means anticipation & PATIENCE. Many car drivers wouldn't have sufficient ability to drive a Ferrari. But bikes have a better power to weight ratio than that, & any clueless numpty can buy one. Good riders don't tend to get caught out.

  • @clarifaco 2wheels and stupidity is a terrifying combination all too common on the roads but to cite this as the only cause of motorcycle accidents is completley wrong, mate have you seen some of the standards of driving out there, the most skilled and courteous of road users are powerless to do anything when another vehicle decides to attempt to share the same space at the same time!

  • Anyone who DOESN'T ride a bike is a cock and should be taken off the road. The road is for bikes.

  • @MJWVI

if there was no truck to deliver it, there would be no bike on the road

if there was no car, well, good luck getting your pregnant women to the hospital

if there was no car, how would you get to the hopital after you crash because you think the road is yours

  • bikes are allowed to filter like that?

  • fck it honestly. bikers should get off the road.

  • @geosnafu..fuck off prick.

  • @74BONGz pfft no. this video showed that bikers are hazardess.

the bike is alot less safer then a car. and inconveniant to the road.

plus bikers have this high and mighty attitude there better then drivers in a car. no fckn different.

  • @geosnafu No, actually bikes and cars have just as much right to be on the road as each other. Both have to pay tax.

How's a bike inconvenient on the road? We filter through and are gone before you're even in gear. Obviously there is some retarded riders on the road, but we're not all "high and mighty", just like not all cagers are careless bastards.

  • @chunkyfucker3 i know bikes have the right to road as much as a car does. the video depicts they are harder to see.

to be honest filtering annoys me. i know why bikers do it but ive had my car scratched from that, and he just kept going. fortunately i could drive faster then him and get details

it would appear that majority believe they are better and etc.

however im sick of the careless bastard idea.

    no different in skill

simply theres some stupid people on the road.

  • Any driver or motorsyclist that is not skilled or attentive in driving is a road menace

  • i always like to make 'good rear observations' when driving, girls really do wear tight clothes in the summer, i must say im disappointed with the content of this video, i thought it was going to be about a Motown band causing accidents

  • as a motorcyclist for the past 8 years I have undoubtedly found the most risky maneuver is the simple overtake when overtaking more than one car. 80% it'll be a BMW driver as well. Maybe its because they think they're the 'shit' on the roads. You'll always get one every now and then that will go to overtake the car in front of them without checking their mirror to see if someone else is doing the very same thing behind them.

  • 99% of the drivers and riders see the signs but dont give a fcuk about them~

  • @zomgbbqwth That's lies I see the signs and think about what it's saying.

  • @Powert0ThePeople

you cant and must not see each and every sign on the road when you are driving/riding~

  • @zomgbbqwth Lol yea man but I've seen them and thought about how I'm riding.. in car windshields, at the side of the road etc. Not everyones gonna care but I think they are a good way to raise awareness to riders and of riders, imo

  • im constantly looking for motorcycles since i love them, yet ive still managed to almost hit two. if its hard to see bikes for a person who loves them i cant imagine how hard it is for a person who couldnt care less. so like everyone says "ride like cars dont see you" you cant assume a car will see you so the best thing to do is be prepared.

  • Can any biker please explain this with a nice attitude please ? Your on the road in a car and you come across a slow car and you ensure everything is safe and clear before you over the car, You check your mirrors and everything is clear, you indicate checking your mirrors again......Then a biker carelessly passes by you at 130 mph then another then another within a space of 50 yards WHY DO THIS ON PUBLIC ROADS ? Yes you get a thrill of the speed, but guys save your speed for the track.

  • @ian8354

you just put on ur lights to let the bikers know ur going right, u wait for a second of 10, and than u can easely pass

i never ever passed a car that was usin its direction lights, i did have to avoind quite a few cars who dont seem to own these kinda of lights

and while riding a bike ur wearing leathers... wich is very very hot... unless ur going very very fast

  • @ian8354 You did everything correctly. Checked your mirrors, then indicated and then checked your mirrors again before overtaking. That last check you did possibly saved lives and it's something everyone should do all the time! The bikers were enjoying themselves and thanks to you, they will probably keep enjoying themselves until oneday someone doesn't do that last check of the mirror..... then the bikers better hope that all their high-speed practice pays-off and they can avoid a collision!

  • @kstoyel A friend of mine lost his life due to overtaking and passing cars carelessly, This is how he lost his life. Imagine the scene ..Tractor ahead and a line of cars behind the tractor and the cars all waiting their turn to overtake carefully and one car had already begun to overtake the tractor when BANG my friend ran into the back of the car, He tried to overtake the entire line of cars at around 100 mph, His bike was stuffed into the dash of the car and he was cut in half. Be safe bikers

  • I saw a biker who overtook me on winding bends towards Hemswell in Lincolnshire and went between two cars and smashing eitherside door mirrors to bits and what did the biker do ? He fucked off as fast as he could, there was no chance anyone got his plate.

  • If only "filtering" was allowed in the U.S. That would be bad ass

  • just one thing to say : Loud pipes save lives!

  • @UnkumpeI Not really. Don't spread this type of misinformation. Makes it bad for all of us.

  • can someone translate this video into American?

  • @Mikerulez101

    LOL :D

  • @Mikerulez101 cagers no likey bikers XD

  • THIS BLOKE KNOWS HIS STUFF !

  • it is a race track ent it? no? oh yeah, it cant be cos you car drivers are too bloody slow to be in any sort of race! lol hahaha

  • Most bikers think the road is their own personal race track.

  • @MrJuno6 Your right pal ! How many come up behind you and don't give a fuck how / when they pass you ! In Lincolnshire the roads around there are bad for speeding bikers and every biker i come across has still got to overtake you on hills - blind bends - double white lines - into oncoming traffic - even undertaking you ! CHRIST BIKERS GO SLOW AND LIVE LONGER

  • The biker's biggest danger?

Docile brained women drivers with a vice like grip on the steering wheel; noses pressed against the windscreen; and a look of utter terror on their faces at 28mph. How the hell do 90% of women pass their tests?

  • @duckgeezer With the" le sexy time " ...

  • @duckgeezer wrong. A biker's biggest danger is always himself. You have to drive as if everyone is one of these women and keep your eyes open. You're the only intelligent being on the road and everyone else is out to get you or can't see you. Best thing you can do? Control the space around you and leave yourself lots of room everywhere.

  • @hibraisil If there were no idiot drivers out there, then there wouldnt be the need for motorcyclists to take such massive precautions. The danger comes mostly from other road users, not the rider.

  • @hibraisil Bingo. Assume the worst is about to happen at all times and that everyone else is a friggin idiot, and always try hard to maintain some space as a buffer for mistakes, in addition to keeping the speed down to limits that allow sufficient time to react within those buffers.

  • @duckgeezer What kind of bullshit is that? If that was true, why is it 95% of the time men that kill themselves in car accidents? Who is a better driver, a woman or a man? Everything is relative, knowing how to park will not kill or injure others, but thinking you are the best driver in the world may very well cost you your life...

  • @KoivuTheHab I don't know about your statistics as you've probably made them up but it is true, I ride a motorcycle and 100% (truthful statistics) of the time in my past 2 years riding it has been exclusively woman who've nearly/tried to kill me. That's in England anyway, maybe woman drive better in other countries.

  • @duckgeezer i dunno, but my sister passed her test and she hit both ends of the car when she tried to parallel park during the test. It's fucking bullshit really. Of course we had to pay when she drove through our garage door.

  • @duckgeezer Well girls can always polish the instructors gear stick, worth sum points.

  • @duckgeezer they have tits

  • @duckgeezer they have boobs...

  • @duckgeezer blowjob xD

  • @duckgeezer blowjobs my friend.... Blowjobs...

  • @duckgeezer tits and ass

  • Think bike...because bikers can't think for themselves.

  • Ride it like you stole it..

  • i guess the same thing could happen if you were turning left in the USA

  • It's because they're driving on the wrong side...

  • RIDE PARANOID!!!

  • @crackerstolemybike you have to risk compensate, if cars weren't on the road you would go faster, and one of the reasons motorcyclists crash is they dont make the turn, so the crash rate of certain types of crashes would go up, so having no cars on the road might actually make you more likely to crash.

  • This proves that vehicles should be banned from roads... wait....

  • Car drivers are busy talking on there phones or eating reading maps sat navs I'm not surprised they don't see us I have been knocked off by a woman in a 4x4 on her phone

  • Ride a bike as if everyone is out to kill you.

  • @symodiezel good... i wouldent wear a helmet if cars werent on the roads. they are the route cause of all problems on the road

  • @symodiezel they are.

  • @symodiezel that is propably the best advice i've heard in a long time.

  • @symodiezel Really really fast so as to escape? Good advice :P

  • @symodiezel Exactly - furthermore "ride as if you were invisible" ;)

  • @symodiezel True! ATGATT !

  • There are no bikers these days. It is became so easy to get a licence, and thats why it became popular and fashionable. Bikes are a killer for house wives and 40 year olds.

  • @1965guitarboy What do you mean bikes are a killer for house wives and 40 year olds?

  • No, we are not expecting all other road users to look out for us, quite the opposite! We are expecting other motorists to do what they usually do, not pay attention to their own driving or be concerned for any other vehicles on the road. Good motorcyclists are taking up the slack for other motorists all day every day, we have to.

  • Is it me or is this guys voice fucking irritating?

  • wonder how he gets his head so square

  • Add to hazards, Horses and worst of all Runners/Joggers.

These guys like to run down roads oblivious to ALL traffic,it's like lets find the most dangerous situation to exercise.

  • Comment removed

  • Phil looks like christian bale at 50 yrs old lol

  • Whenever I see a motorcyclist driving at traffic speed, I praise them. Because frankly, most motorcyclists I see around here are going 10 mph or more over traffic speed. How do they not expect to get into an accident?

  • As a motorcyclist myself and a car driver, bus driver, HGV driver also, I believe riding a bike does indeed make you a safer car driver, especially towards motorcyclists.

  • Most motorcycle riders are pretty cool. It is the ones that have to show off that end up getting hurt. The traveling between lanes with cars was never a good law to pass. They should not be allowed to ride between cars regular or rush hour traffic. One slip up by a driver not paying attention to get into another lane and baam road rash.

  • @Lobo240sx more likely, staying in lane in rush-hour traffic leads to car driver not paying attention and rear-ending - destroying bike, likely killing rider. It's safer to lane-split.

  • @barrkel Ok all that is great. Unfortunately there aren't enough good drivers in this world to know that a bike can stop on a dime compared to a car. Reason why they passed the lane-split law lol. When I see a bike in front of me, I give three times the distance as I would a car. So for every 10mph, 1 full car length or about 3-4 bike lengths per 10mph.

  • @Lobo240sx "Unfortunately there aren't enough good drivers in this world to know that a bike can stop on a dime compared to a car."

With respect, I don't think you're a motorcyclist. There is actually little difference between the two throughout the normal speed range, but it takes more ability to safely get maximum braking performance from 'bikes, meaning on average, in real-world conditions, cars generally have the edge.

In wet/slippery conditions, cars can easily out-brake 'bikes.

  • @Lobo240sx Well, you could say that about many things. In the UK, I dont think there is a law per se about it. But why should a motorbike pay for a car drivers ignorance?

  • @Tayuk When you are on a bike, you need to pretend like nobody can see you. You are a ghost on a bike compared to other cars on the road. Kind of like when people go walking late at night in the middle of the street.

  • @Lobo240sx Could agree more. But you cant mandate for idiots. You can prepare as much as you like, wear as bright gear as you like, but sooner or later somebody is going to try to take you out. I have loudish exhausts, HID's and ensure that when I overtake or come alongside somebody they see me. But, there is always one.

  • @Lobo240sx Couldnt agree more. Hence I try to ensure I make myself seen, when I filter use my hazards, I have HID's fitted on low beam (always on) , I have LED side lights, I have loudish pipes..but if somebody is wearing headphones and doesnt check their blind spot game over..

You just need to be aware and quick. Some still dont have a clue what they have done wrong...and no end of panel beating, glass smashing, wing mirror killing or horn use is going to change that.

  • Would have thought the main cause of fatalities is adrenaline seeking- ie sunday group riders playing russian roulette, ah well... helps with organ donations.

  • @veggiebiker It's this kind of wild speculation that gives bikers a bad name. I dont doubt that there are lunatics out there perhaps more than our fair share but for every idiot theres 10 that dont take the piss, simply want to get from A to B without destroying the planet, causing congestion. You also get the radical cyclists that want to jump on the bandwagon too, in London they are trying to let bikers use the bus lanes, idiot cyclists want to keep it for themselves and buses, crazy.

  • I've been riding 45 years and have found that motorcyclists are their own worst enemy. You have got to pay attention to your surroundings.

  • I just don't get the point here... motorcycles travel between the lanes and then complaint... in Canada you are not allowed to travel between the lanes... you are the same as anyone else on the road, and thanks god we barely have any collisions between bikes and cars...

    Think smart, not bikes... :D

  • @LAVASTICK travelling between the lanes is safer than travelling in the lanes - you're more likely to be rear ended in the lane. When travelling between the lanes at sensible speeds (typically, rush hour traffic going 20mph or less, with the bike doing no more than 20mph faster than the cars) you have plenty of time to react to drivers changing lanes.

  • @barrkel I'm 50/50 on this, I came back from getting my forks setup a couple of days ago and ended up filtering for some 5 miles in queuing traffic @15-20Mph. 3-4 people swapped lanes whilst I was along side them, requiring me to take serious avoiding action. Despite me having my hazard lights on, a dual set of 55w HID's and a set of loud pipes they still did it. 10 miles earlier I was in traffic travelling about 50-60 mph and nobody tried to kill me. most gave me plenty of room behind.

  • most of the car drivers suck because if moron car driver that thinks that the rode it's his and make a fucking stupid mistake then he can put in danger his life and specially the others life..but a motorcyclist (even if he is a stupid rider) if he make a mistake, yes he can put in danger the life of another person but most of the time is the rider that dies or gets damage hard and then most of the people say "i hate motorcycle because they are dangerous" fucking bastards...

  • why do so many people in the comments here state "driving a motorcycle". you ride a bike, you dont drive it. driving is for morons in cars.

  • @0Zolrender0 if you are the only one riding the motorcylce and the only one in control of it then you obviously are driving it

  • I think those signs are brilliant. Could do with a few in my area and giving some drivers a slap across the face. I know a few who have been injured or nearly come off from people turning at the last minute with little indication. Honestly I think some even assume bikes are there to be raced or shooed off. This awareness campaign needs to become much bigger. I think it's the drivers we should be aiming this at.

  • How many times do I see car drivers yakking on the phone? They'll never see a motorcycle rider or stop in time.

  • @DrBarnes1 A driver in a car a couple of days ago decided to change lanes, alas I was already in the lane and had been for 2 mins. Despite flashing and hitting the horn he carried on. He signalled, and maneuvered. just didnt look hard enough. I came alongside a short while later and he was wearing headphones, either on the phone or listening to music. I could have been another smidsy statistic or if I had died, a crazy motorcyclist travelling too fast for the prevailing conditions.

  • @Tayuk a regular problem for me.. they just change lanes and dont look. important thing for us to do is recognise where this might happen and ensure we are not in a blind spot. Yest its not our fault if they do hit us in this way but we remain just as dead regardless of who gets the blame so I'd rather ride cautiously for both me and the car that might kill me.

  • How many times do I see car drivers yakking on the phone? They'll never see a motorcycle rider or stop in time.

  • @juanuqz9292 what he means is don't ride in the gutter, give drivers a good reason to pull out all the way, if you stick to far to the right (or left depending where you are) you'll have to re adjust your mirror more than once, riding in the middle allso allows you to go evasive if someone does come too close.

  • I dont know in UK but in finland its illegal to overtake at places where is possibility to turn :D

  • It's easy:

    - Drive the bike as if you were driving a car, taking up the same space.

    - Don't hug the left or right of the road.

    - Don't weave in and out of traffic on a motorway/highway.

    - Appreciate the fact that a bike isn't the easiest object to see.

    - Always drive a bike with your lights on.

I've seen a few bike crashes in my time, Car drivers need to be extra alert for bikes, Bike drivers need to appreciate it's not easy to see you whilst driving a car due to multiple blind spots.

    Simple.

  • @eldudio Came to a stop at a red light. Cross traffic stopped in two of the four crossing lanes. I should have looked harder up and down the road I was crossing, but it was the end of a long ride and I had crossed this intersection thousands of times. Light turned green, I proceeded across. Almost halfway across I got hit by someone traveling at at least the speed limit. No brake squeal. She didn't see the red light or me. The signal and I were both DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF HER.

    Simple.

  • i do see my fair share of idiots on the M3 in Hampshire weaving in and out of traffic during rush hour thinking that because they can, they should be allowed to. the only thing wrong with bikers having accidents (bar their unwillingness to ride the speed limit) is the face that most car drivers just dont take enough time. bikes travel faster. deal with it! take another look! let the police nick them speeding!

  • Ok, I'd think that there is one more and perhaps the first in line motif for bike accidents.

Sincerely... how many motorcycle riders anyone knows or seen having an accident while driving within the legal speed limits?

How many just ride within the legal limits?

    I've seen none.

(BTW, I ain't driving any cars)

  • @yo6ial the accident I had 10 days ago was well within the speed limit. A kid parked on the far side of a bus-stop, after leaving off his friend to catch the bus, did a u-turn out from the other side of the stopped bus as I was overtaking it. 25mph or so, nothing I could do about it.

  • 45 dislikes. why do merc drivers watch this vid? :D

  • people are ignorant and self-centered... they dont care about anyone else.. if you are on a bike dont expect people in cars to give a shit.. they dont

  • im going to start a campaign called "think truck' so many people these days dont see trucks

  • @mike19831115 the problem is two things, one larger objects appear to be moving slower than they really are, and two, people look at a big rig and know you have good insurance so pull out in front htinking about the money, not thinking tha a wreck with a rig never ends well.

  • as a rule when on a bike,10% of drivers don't see you, and 90% of drivers are actively trying to kill you.

  • @Jarvisx51 lmao good rule

  • Well first of all, you guys are on the wrong side of the road! Second, the bikes over taking the cares on there right here in Canada is Not legal! So to say from what I have seen in this video The Bikers riders are at fault!

I have bin riding for over 35/yrs and do not ride in this fashion.

I am the Truck driver, hauling a food grade tanker with over 2/million miles of safe driving.

Common sense is not so common any more.

  • @johnminigan Haha wrong side of the road, its the UK, that's the side we drive on =] its not legal to pass of the left here unless they are indicating right

  • 1 of the biggest mistakes uk bikers make these days is to not realise that 60% + of drivers on uk roads are foreigners who drive like total tossers in their own country and couldnt give a flying fuck about a biker cos theyve never been 1. a few months driving in thailand will sharpen your defensive reflexes.............if you live that long.

  • @theravedaddy I have driven in Thailand loads of times from Bangkok to Petchabun they drive like complete nutters but are predictable nutters, In London the foreigners are from everywhere and try to kill you at every chance. Ride expecting a tosser behind the wheel and it helps. Most of them have no licence in either country

  • @theravedaddy after losing 15 friends on bikes in the U.K. I moved to Bangkok - and now race around on a GSX-R750 here. Lack of cameras and speed limits - indeed any regard for rules - is extremely liberating. I enjoy a quick blast with no helmet to my local 7-11 about 2km up the road, filtering traffic at speeds not acceptable in the U.K. - and I'm still going strong after 8 years. I ride the wrong side of the road, overtake inside, and I am safe.

  • @ben2talk nice 1 mate, keep up the good work and dont let the bastards bring you down!!! it is refreshing to have no security spying on you....and virtually no cops out of town!

  • I'm a biker now and I can't beleave how many shit car drivers there are out there a taxi pulled out in front of me today with out looking the dick.

  • @Geistxxxx you're the dick for expecting him to look. Could you not see that he was waiting to pull out? If you MUST stay on the left side of the road, then you must slow down. If you can, then you could simply pull over to the right and leave him space to pull out instead of waiting for you.

What's your problem? oh - sorry, you already said 'I'm a biker now'.

Damn - new biker. Learn quickly and stop talking shite man before you die.

  • My instructor taut me a valuable lesson that i always remember when im being a nut

he said always remember the three "S"

    1.SPEED

    2 SURFACE

    3 SIGHT

dont go to fast look out for wet oily roads and always be in the vision of sight riding so others can see you and not in the blind spot

Always remember that speed is always at number 1 for a reason

  • @hiewy I seen the thumbnail of a vid on a site called Crazyshit the other day of a girl lying in the side of the road with her head split open and the description said her boyfriend was crying cuz his girlfriend was killed in a motorbike crash. I couldn't even watch the vid. Keep that in mind the next time you want to be "a nut".

  • @hiewy It's a good rule, but it doesn't cover the unexpected. Vision is vital, sure, but you must have a plan. Going faster often helps you to focus more attention ahead and not spend much time worrying about what's behind you.

Staying cool helps, and always keep things smooth. It's not often I require anyone else driving to have eyes in order to help me survive. I assume they're all blind.

  • @ben2talk it's not always possible to expect the unexpected. People pulling out might not just be pulling out - they might be doing a u-turn. You might not see them until it's too late, owing to other things on the street. Going slow enough to be able to handle all these unpredictable things introduces much bigger dangers of other people trying very hard to overtake you. Sometimes you just get unlucky.

  • @barrkel I ride 60km through the most unbelievable Bangkok traffic every day, coming home through the craziest jams you can imagine.

People ignore all the rules - cars cruise in the 'fast lane' at moderate speeds (speed limit is 80km/h, they generally do around 60 to 120 - depending on their mood - when it isn't jammed up) and make left turns from the 4th lane (yes, 4 lanes per side of the dual tracks here - and Bangna has a 15 lane monster).

I don't ride slow - just slow enough to live

  • @barrkel Yes, sometimes you DO get unlucky - and riding is always a game of balancing the risks and finding your level of 'acceptable risk'. I find it helps to have a 6th sense - I find riding to be mostly drama free - though still exciting - because I have a great talent for planning ahead. I like to race with speed limits - I always win. In England, my friends and I would do 40mph limit road races - give it a try, you learn a lot.

  • @barrkel I agree with some of this, I would say though that you can prepare for most of the unexpected. You might not be able to avoid it but you can prepare for it. Cars doing U-turns for example, you know the car is there, you simply don't believe that somebody would do it hence an accident. I almost always lift off when coming up behind cars if its safe to do so when traveling fast, all cars are potential killers in my eyes. I believe you make your own luck when it comes to riding bikes.

  • @Tayuk if the car is parked on the side of the road the far side of a bus stop, with a bus stopped, you don't necessarily know the car is there until it's too late. That was my accident situation: I suddenly see a car pull out to my left, I swerve to avoid, but it keeps on coming, and we collide in the oncoming lane. Luckily I swerved enough to go over the bonnet rather than into the driver door. If he'd been deliberately lying in wait, trying to get me, he couldn't have done a better job.

  • @barrkel Alas, this is a smidsy at its most classic. also known as a "shit happens" moment..

  • As a biker, car driver and truck driver its usually the cars drivers fault BUUUUUT!!!! bikers tend to drive much quicker and appear out of nowhere and just expect all other road users to be looking out for them always. As a biker its a requirment to make ourselves visible to other road users and predict where an incident is likely to occur. However this mostly comes only from experience.Be safe everybody, try not to be the asshole on the road and ALWAYS EXPECT HE UNEXPECTED.

  • @ah4fecksake Always wear Hi Visibility vest! They might think you're a cop !

  • @ah4fecksake i don't know the statistics in your country BUUUUT the Police statistics were I live shows that in more then 50% of the accidents the biker is Fault.

it's a proposition between 60% to 40%. So please check your Police records first before you blame most of the fault on Car Drivers. Thank you.

  • @miras202 Well maybe so in your country. However I did check the statistics funny enough on a paper I worked on well over a year ago and in fact a massive 90% of the fault is not caused by the biker.Don't just suppose because I made this statement on youtube that I make assumptions.Thats usually done by smart ass commenters who want to sound clever by trying to dimiss others !

  • @ah4fecksake i must hold you on that - however 90%... well it's somehow unbelievable. But here its just FACT, i can provide a link for anyone But my point is that it's just annoying to see stickers like

"see in mirrors, bikes are everywhere!" And i often observe on the road bikers driving in cities with 150kph, and then complaining about car drivers, that they need to see more in mirrors.

By changing lane, it's hard to notice a bike with this speed, when you have few second for the maneuver.

  • @miras202 I think anybody driving in cities at 150kph deserves a slap to be honest.Thats insane and asking for trouble on busy roads like these.Unbelievable or not,it is true. But as I have said,it is very much the riders responsibility to be aware that because they are small nimble and very fast it is largely their responsibility to make themseleves known on the road. But yes I do so often see aggressive riders blaming other road users when it is clearly their own fault.

  • They usually respond with "rules are for little people, not for me" in my experience...
