@edhombre In freesyle at the end of the match is unscored they choose a random ball to see who clinches and in the clinch the person who wins the ball pick chooses a leg and he gets to lock a single, the person fighting it get to place his hand on the other guys back, the winner of the ball pick has a certain time to score and a point wins it.

The USA was totally bad ass back in 1992, and even in 1996 wasn't too shabby. 2000 and onward has been shakey as a whole team. And we still praise the gold medalists like Rulon Gardner, Cael Sanderson and Henry Cejudo. But the rest are just living up to what we want from our country.

i totally agree with jurom7. Its ridiculous to see bono still trying to wrastle in olympics what is he like 62 yrs old. its time to let the new blood get out there and wrastle. It's not like the old man is taking a younger persons spot. Unfortunately in America wrestling isn't generating the mass amounts of fs/gr wrestlers like over seas.  Wrestling is a 3rd or 4th teir sport that will never get the amount of quality kids. If you want to complain look at Randy Lewis. Fat old man wasn't even in shape when he wrestled Moza Fay.

What a joke. It was blue's move. U.S. is going to get destroyed like always because we have wrestlers that do not open up. The wrestlers that open up and would do good in world events get beat out by guys like Schwab and Bono who do not open up and will never win against other wrestlers in the world who open up. We have become boring stallers who are happy to just get 1 point push outs! Henry Cejudo won the Olympics because he went after it and opened up, enough said

Yeah but they aren't. You gotta figure yeah he may not have their stats or their experience but he's been wrestling his whole life too and his credentials to this point are pretty impressive maybe even better than some of the more seasoned veterens when they were at his level.

The kid's fresh coming out of NCAA D1 wrestling thats the best he's younger and has alot of energy. He doesn't stop he's always wrestling, and hard too, and with Brands in his corner you know he's got that support and with his talent that's pretty tough to beat.

What an idiot ref - Metcalf had Bono's leg completely off the mat before he even blew his whistle. He should have stopped it again, and given Metcalf a warning for starting before the whistle.

Gotta say that they must have gone out of thier way to get lousy refs for this tournament.

It doesn't work like that the second the hands are around the leg wrestling begins the refs whistle doesn't matter and in fact most refs are quick and blow the whistle right as you lock but this one was slow.

Because it was a tie breaker. Bono won 1st period, Metcalf 2nd, 3rd was 0-0. That's how they do FS rules. Notice the ref draws (from the bag) which wrestler gets the leg. If Metcalf hadn't scored in :30 sec than Bono would have won.
