@xxAmuMoonxx As much as it hurts Erza to let Gerard go.... she lets him because she respects his decision of "atoning his sins" that's why, when Erza let him go (even if it's against her will) he gave her a smile of gratitude. I think that is a very brave thing to do, because if she insisted him on staying with her, that'd be selfish.

@lalagirl211 he's still alive at least last time we knew. And they do love each other but they're not officially together or anything. Although if even natsu (mr oblivious) recognized that they need each other, even going as far as to defend gerard so that he could stay with erza, so i'd say their future together would have looked bright if the council hadn't showed up.. but worry not. I don't think we've seen the last of him though despite what the council said ^^
