LOL the funny thing that happened to me was I got a shiny Suicune in Platinum and Heart Gold form the wi-fi event, and got shiny Garados in Heart Gold by fighting him and capturing him. And I traded someone a level 100 Zapdos on the Wi-Fi trading thing on Platinum for a shiny Garados. I had another Zapdos. No I do not hack, I got a used hacker's game of Diamond.

I hope you know that the way your suppose to get shiny starters, without being very lucky is through the daycare. Thats how you get all the starters, that have you as an original trainer. Just get starter eggs from people with that starter, and get eggs of your starter. Still requires luck but is much faster.

the color of the shiny will show up in the picture, and theres a little red star that also appears next to the pokemon that lets you know its shiny.

save where u have to pick a pokemon. and if u want a shiny treecko, pick treecko. and when he goes into battle u will tell if hes shiny or not. if not press and hold start+select+a+b. reapt this process till its a shiny but it takes a long time.
