Useful introduction video showing the back-end tools namely Tables and Queries being designed and used. It's only the start though and you will need to do some more research. If you want help, please contact me for advice. See my blog "AccessDatabaseTutorial" - Thanks to beyourownit for the video tutorial.
What you are going to be looking for is something in the neighborhood of Select * from (name of table) Where (name of date field) > or < (date). I dont remember how the boolean operators interact with year dates. This should give you a start in the right direction though.

I had a course of this in high school, like 3 years ago, and I can't remember anything T.T lol the only thing that i remember a little bit is about the command button in Forms because we made a menu :P
I have reservation list and it has a check in and check out date for different months. And I want to use the query to find out those who have checked in and a checked out in a certain period. For example from 5/1/2010 to 5/31/2010. Can Access perform that function? I have to type a particular date (5/1/2010) in the criteria section in the query and Access can find it out but Access cannot extract data with a given range of dates as above. hope to have your reply.
Hey maybe you should consider telling people about RDBMS as a way to organize themselves especially since MySQL and MS SQL server are free. Anyways great video.
great Video, i have a test on Access tomorrow and i don't understand anything of it bc our instructer sucks hes like a 3rd generation teacher. well this is the first video i view, and it looks pretty easy. :)
Not exactly. You can have a compound primary key (made up of 2 or more columns), but you can only have one primary key. You will see a primary key with only one name but multiple columns.
I have an exam the day after tommorrow, and I already forgot what the doctor explained, and there are no books available! I was all but certain that I'll fail!
dude i have to take a test tomorrow on access, word, excel, and publisher. When i found out what access was i had no idea what it was. This video taught me everything i needed to know! thanks so much!!
Great video. It's very informative and easy to follow along. I never had any idea what Access was for. It looked to complicated to learn, but now I fully understand the power of this program. Thanks.
awesome help ! Thanks, i needed some basic startup knowledge and this video taught me alot. Which now allow me to go indepth into other videos teaching more complicated stuff.
You've unlocked the mystery of Access for me in 7:02! I've opened the program a number of times and just couldn't figure out how to get going with it. Thank you and please post more!

you can have 2 primary keys for 1 table
by press Ctril and right click select primary key
baozeng 2 years ago
By definition, you can only have ONE primary key -- although it may be comprised of more than one field. This is called a multi-field Primary Key.
Warm Regards,
Crystal * (: have an awesome day :) *
