I learned about CM a little over a year ago, but didn't actually give them much thought until Michael stood in for Roy Khan of Kamelot. Having just bought Isolate on iTunes about a week ago, I am so glad Mike did what he did for Kamelot; otherwise I would have continued through life missing out on indulging in a band whose musical talent is second to none. I am forever hooked! Mike - hope Roy is okay. :)

@galadryhel050 I don't like Khan's voice too much. Lol even if Kamelot is a power metal band, I think that the singer of Circus Maximus has a more "powerful" voice.

Nowadays, the only rock music really worth listening to is made in Europe. Here in the US aside from bands like DT, Kamelot and a couple of others, it is nonexistent. Thanks to Europe we can still listen to GOOD music here.

ridiculous, the greater influence in circus maximus is Dream theater, are the fathers of prog metal, you should hear some of dream theater and really read the lyrics, 'cause the lyrics in dream are very complex

it's not all about the complexity on the lyrics...it's more like the whole DT legacy. Some ppl won't understand the fact that these bands wouldn't exist without DT, bands like circus maximus, pagan's mind or DGM and so these bands would tell you the same. Anyways! it's veru refreshing to hear any of these new bands coming out from europe.

I live in the USA, and except for a few bands like Kamelot, there is no airplay or interest in these bands, which is a pity because the only music you listen on TV here is that hip hop crap. Circus Maximus is a HUGE band with the likes of DT, Pagan's Mind, etc

This has become one of my favorite bands now. I recently purchased "Isolate" and it's a great album in every way, but still I think "The 1rst Chapter" is their best so far.

I agree, there is still great material on 1st Chapter although they sound awesome on every track the songs themselves aren't all the best. From Childhood's hour is one of the best songs by any prog band ever though (see vocal part of this video). They sound inspired by Rush and The Dregs like Dream Theater, but they are definately not less than.

I saw this awhile ago, when the boys first posted it but seeing now that Isolate has been released definitely gives it alot more meaning... Isolate is beyond amazing and Circus Maximus is EASILY one of the best bands out there today... I truly believe if Bach, Mozart or Beethoven were alive today, this is the kind of music they'd be writing - pure GENIUS...
