  • I think in high school, you should just enhance your natural beauty.

  • @BrittneySimpson no. I don't think that explaining to someone that I don't have perfect skin is rude.

  • I appreciate your opinion but I think hs kids can wear eyeshadow as longs it doesn't pass their crease too much. Also since teens these day tend to go for a more emo or wide eye or baby doll look. Most teens in my area are now following gyaru styles since the earthquake.

  • i agree but i did break some of these rules lol...like...foundation if i had time...eyeliner but id do both top and waterline with mascara was a must even when i had nothing on my face...umm...never wore eyeshadow...but to swtich it up i did wear colorful eye pencils just to switch it up...and bronzer cause i love it...never did blush much...but sometimes i did but only if i had nothing on my face...i have ance scars too with some acne here and there soo yea...but i agree

  • I wouldn't want you to be my mom...but I agree with most of the things you said :D

  • omg thank you cause everybody at my school be wearing heavy make i mean regular foundation will be fine

  • youve got GREAT skin!

  • This is actually my look as a college student. I don't like too much makeup to be honest. This look is really cute on you BTW :)

  • where did you buy your lip gloss?? it's gorgeous and I've been searching for it, to no avail. = (

  • what kind of mascara is that?

  • I completely agree with you.

  • I'm currently in high school and I definitely try to keep my makeup to a minimum. I'm going to take your advice and try not to wear blush. Thanks for your honest opinion!

  • DDDDDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM UUUUUUUUUUUUU GOT SUM BIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGG LIPZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • wow...i just noticed how times have changed and how now 12 year olds are putting on make-up.growing up a little too fast there...

  • WHAT IF YOUR SKIN IS LIKE NOT EVEN

    AND YOU USE FOUNDATION??

  • @thepaola101 im pretty sure I answered that in the video.

  • @eyeXluvXmakeup probebly cuz yhu have perfect skin,

    thats why you think that!!!!!!!

  • @thepaola101 well actually, if you watched the video, I explained that I have acne scars and that is why I wear foundation. I do not have perfect skin. I am not really sure how else to explain that.

  • I like the look and i get what your saying (blush is so hard to pull off)

  • i love this video and i totally agree with you

this is what i do for my makeup too

i always like to keep it simple

    thanks xx

  • what if your dont have an even skin tone like two different colors i have like a yellowish touch to the cheeks and nose and stuff and i dont have muckep like one tiny palette of i think 9 that are very ugly colors thank you

  • love the look very natural and something i can wear everyday and im 19 years old in college. Good jobs dont listen to everyone else

  • That looks nice.... Y is everyone debating on your opinion?

  • @luvineverything101

    lol, I have no idea.

  • @eyeXluvXmakeup wat do u meen when u "were" in hie skool , you r sooo beautiful!! u look almost 17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...i wish i wuz pretty like u!!!!

  • haha, maybe someone asked your opinion on what you thought about kids wearing makeup, but seventeen year olds are by no means kids. And a lot of the time that seventeen year olds wear makeup it's because they want to be creative, not because they'd like to be twenty four.

  • You are entitled to your opinion, as I am mine. And in my opinion, 17 years olds ARE children and wearing too much makeup makes them look older than they are. Period.

  • yeah it's easy for YOU to say younger people shouldn't wear makeup, you have that naturally cute face! lol but anyway really thanks for the upload! i need to tone my makeup habits down a little, so i definitely learned from this :)

  • Your beautiful (:x

  • i don't really see the big deal about kids wearing makeup in high school. i don't see how people think it's a distraction. i mean it's something on your face, that's like saying your nose is a distraction.

all i really wear is eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and thats it. i dont need all that other stuff. and yes sometimes i do two tone shadows (blue and pink) if i'm wearing a nice shirt and if i'm in the mood. & yes i'm 17, senior, aspiring makeup artist. :)

  • everyone has the right to their own opinion hun. I honestly don't care what other people do, but this was requested. If you wanna wear pink and blue eyeshadow, more power to you.

  • can you believe that girls at the age of like 10-12 wear makeup! OMG THEY'RE DAMAGING THEIR SKIN!

  • That's basically what I did in high school except when I was really trying to be fancy, but kids don't need alot of makeup.

  • I love it looks really fresh but what would you say for a 17 year old in college to wear for make-up cause thats the category i totally fit into lol

  • well first, let me just say congrats on being in college!

And second, when it comes to heavy eye makeup, I don't think it should be an everyday thing for anyone of any age. Any of the tutorials you see me do on here are looks that I wear to work (which is a makeup store). But as far as my real like makeup, this is pretty much it. Probably a top liner. And if I am really making an effort, maybe a shimmery gold shadow. But i don't think makeup should be an every day thing. Thats just me.

  • hehe, im in high school & ive gone through that "make up stage" already, but thank baby jesus im over it..this is all i do now soz im good!!

  • ITA with you! No need for makeup in HS! Girls will be old enough soon enough! Good for you for being brave enough to keep it real! :)

  • yeah i believe the same thing as you about back to school makeup for high school. im in college now and i started the whole mixing and blending thing to go to school. but the only coulours i use is gold and bronze shimmer eyeshadows because they match my skin tone and people like it. sometimes i add a little colour but thats it.

  • I agree, school is a place for learning not for daily distractions like makeup. You'll have better skin in the long run:)

  • Very natural.I Love this!!! When im in a rush for work thats all i throw on!! Young hs girls dont need makeup natural fave is beautiful on young girls.LOVE THIS VID!!

  • Very nice natural look.

  • I agree wholeheartedly; this is a nice balance that you have shown. I am one of those rare folk who is 35, but people THINK I'm in high school (I have a baby face) & they get so offended that I have on makeup, lol! I'm not going to school, I'm going to WORK!!!! :) They also get mad if I get a smooch from my hubby; they think he's my dad.... ;)

  • can yhu make a bake to school hairstyle tutorial plzz i need hep nd my hair is juss like yours

  • i love your headband and your hairstyle in this video so much.

this is good advice, don't wear too much makeup in hs! especially if you have perfect skin.

  • i think you are right about wearing minimal makeup for teenagers. however i would think soft neutral eye shadows would also be acceptable. i do wish young girls would keep it to a minimum because makeup ages the skin. less it better. great video

  • All I wore in HS was lipgloss and chapstick. My how things have changed within like 4 years!

  • Kudos to you Krishna for staying true to yourself in this tutorial. I agreee, HS aged young ladies should not be wearing eye shadow and blush! Way to stand up for what you believe in!:)

  • we weren't allowed to wear makeup in gradeschool but i pretty much just wore liner and did my brows. i didn't get into color until college really. i can just now afford to get all the tools i need, i can't see having been able to afford it then! lol i'd say experiment with color liners, like a pop of color if anything...gotta have some color!! lol

  • i started wearing makeup in middle school. not foundation or powder, just mascara and some lipgloss. now im in high school and i definitely wear a lot more makeup, but i still keep it natural. i totally think kids in high school should wear makeup if they want. i wear foundation, concealer, brown eyeliner, mascara, blush, and chapstick. and when im going out i usually do a smoky eye or a bright lip with black eyeliner. it still looks natural and not like im wearing a mask

  • what is the name of the lipgloss you applied in this video?

  • hey what the update on ya hair

  • I can understand where you are coming from. I wore just lipstick that was like brown or real close to the color of my lip tone. I feel that it's our duty as women to help oyoung girls and on the verge of women how to use makeup correctly and in a way that will Compliment thier already natural beauty. So many women as well as on the verge of ladyhood get outrageous with it. Sometimes it good to be very Glamed up but not all the time.

  • you look gorgeous in this video!

  • okay. this was nice. but i consider makeup all that nasty stuff you put on you face like foundation. i put on like a shade of makeup that is my skintone but shimmery so i have a bit of sparkle then i put a color liner. like a purple or a blue. i really hate putting on liquid liner anymore. it makes you look older and on me, like unfresh. but you are right. highschool is about being young and fresh. some girls at my school look cakey and gross. AND in the 9th grade!!

  • I agree, high schoolers shouldnt go extra glam with the makeup. Keep it simple, some gloss and maybe mascara.

  • when you say no eyeshadow, do you mean wearing make up to school? or outside of school?

  • If I had kids, it would be no eyeshadow in school or out of school. But thats just me. I think you can practice at home and then on special occasions (like prom or something) you will know what you are doing.

  • I see where you're coming from but honestly. I would let my highschooler and middle schooler wear make up, because she will learn as she gets older than less is more!

I used to cake on the brown eyeshadow and be a super pigment whore who didn't know WHAT she was doing but now in college, I learned through experience that less is definitely more and sometimes I don't EVEN wear make up cause meh, don't feel like it. Now foundation is another thing.

  • ur right lil girls get ur education cause if u dont have it life gonna be hard for u. when i was in high school i wore make up in my senior year and def not a full face. its not a fashion show. enjoy ur youth cause when its gone its gone and u gonna wish u could have it again .

  • I like to wear eyeshadow to school...but I dont go over bored. I jus wear like gold and brown and stuff. I dont rly like face makeup ( like foundation, blush and such)I'm gonna go with your advice this year tho. I'm gonna keep it simple!

  • awesome! Everyone is seriously entitled to their own opinion, so i'm not trying to change what you already do, but I thnk its pretty cool that you might scale it back a little. Plus, guys like less makeup, lol. they don't want to see a whole different person once you wipe off all your makeup, ya know!

  • Lol I know that's right, they look so taken aback when a girl comes in without their make up on for a day.

  • Yup, let's move on. What will you cover in your next video? One more question , have you ever used Sephora's Bare Ecentuals eye primer?

  • I think my next video will about my hair, but im not sure yet. Also, no, I have not tried the Bare Ecentuals eye primer. Just and FYI, its not a Sephora brand though, its sold at Ulta and all of the B.E. Boutiques. I like Urban Decay Primer Potion though.

  • YOU SHOULD DO A VIDEO ON HAIR

  • YOU JIPPED US ON THE INTRO MUSIC!

  • lol, i gotta switch it up sometimes. People will get bored seeing the same long intro over and over.

  • I rarely wear foundation and I'm an adult so I cant talk on that, I don't see whats wrong with wearing a little eye shadow as a teen I did and I still do Its really up to the individual if there comfortable with it, that's just my opinion

  • yeah, everyone is entitled to their opinion trix. I was just stating mine. Obviously, people are free to do what they want.

  • I agree, "kids" do not need to wear a lot of makeup. I only wore eyeliner, mascara, and lipgloss in high school too unless it was a special occasion. Makeup does not damage your face if you wear it right and take care of your skin. As long as parents, and I am one, teach our children how to apply make up and how to remove it there is nothing to worry about. Taking 5 minutes to apply a little bit of makeup isn't going to tank a child's SAT score!

  • Kids don't realize that you are grown longer than you are a kid. So, take your time! When the bills, job, kids, etc. start rolling in......you will wish you were a kid again. Trust me!

  • I'm wearing Medi-Matte Tint from Cosmedicine in dark (which list like a tinted oil control with spf) and Iman Luxury Pressed Powder in Earth Medium.

  • What foundation are you wearing? Please answer.

  • i think lip conditioner/lip gloss, tinted moisturizer, and mascara is all a girl in highschool really needs. don't get into the habbit of needing makeup girls! play off of your natural beauty and get comfortable in who you are!

  • i hate when girls in MY highschool wear alot of makeup that they can NOT apply, i wear concealer, cover up, bronzer and everything but thats because i know how to work with what i have, im addicted to makeup but like, i think its more dont wear it if you cant use it right. im not saying i wear black eyeshadow, but i do wear browns, and neutrals. gotta look good ; )

  • Excellent advice!!!

  • haha, the music at the end gave me a fright!!

  • I agree Krishna.

  • I guess thats why its ur opinion. In HS I would wear makeup sometimes heavy make up at times. I got into top accredited schools in the nation ( lol except Harvard) but I don't think that had any effect on my grades or my focus in school. ... Only opinion

  • Well if you think about it logically instead of your own subjectivity... spending time on makeup, purchasing, wearing, cleaning makeup off your face, takes away from education if you are not prioritizing which at an adolescent age is a difficult thing to do. Congrats on getting into IVYs, so did I, what is your point? I didn't wear makeup in school, and my only focus was on education. Luckily your opinion is simply an opinion.

  • you sound silly. so teens cant go to the mall, they just have to spend all their free time on homework? thats insane. and for FYI taking off makeup takes 10 seconds. my point is to have some joy in life and do not go crazy in parental control. why do you even watch this vid if you ate against makeup?

  • the arguing back and forth on my page is a little unnecessary and childish. You don't have to go back and forth with everyone.

  • first of all i dont argue with anyone, i dont know where did you get that (that i argue with EVERYONE) from. i replied to one comment and then i started to talking with that person. then some1 else replied to my comment. so what in your opinion is childlish? and this is comment box- it is here for sharing opinions.

  • i never said that wearing makeup in school effected your grades. Someone in the comments may have. What I said was that heavy makeup in highschool makes you look old, because it does. But everyone has the right to do what they please, people just asked me my opinion.

  • THANK YOU! Great advice. I wore the exact same thing. I didn't start wearing foundation until college and that was when I was going to a party..

Thank you for sharing your opinion!!!

  • Great advice! Grls in HS should be worrying abt their S.A.T, not M.A.C! Back when was N HS the basics vaseline or Carmex which ever 1 U had black lipliner (hideous 2 think abt now) & some eyeliner & maybe if my mom was being nice a lil mascara. But then again I was only allowed 2 wear these on game night (ex-cheerleader), 4 pictures & special events not everyday! Stay focused on those grades bc if those are good trust; later N life you'll reap the benefits & B able 2 buy all the MU U want!

  • girl i totally agree with u. im in college right now and more into make up. time is also essential in the morning. what u used is wonderful. great video

  • You hit the nail on the head Lady!! I am in complete agreement with your advice. Young girls should be happy with what they have and concentrate on their schoolwork instead of makeup and boys!! Trust me young ladies, if you do, you will turn out a much happier woman!!

  • Co-signing the no makeup on teens. I rarely wore makeup up then, (except for picture days or something like that) and on the days that I did, I did exactly what you did sans eyeliner.

  • exactly!

  • I agree 100%, Good advice. Teens are growing up way too fast. We I was a teen vaseline & black lip liner (lol) with eyeliner liner (blue was hot then) was as far as we could go. That's right not even a lip gloss. Slow down ladies preserve your skin, be a teenager.

  • Im lol-in your comment because I thought I was the only one back in the day who did that (vaseline and the black lipliner) and I didn't do it until my jr. year! LOL Great advice!!!

  • Nooooo, trust you were not alone.

  • lol, thats too funny.

  • Great advice to teens! Although I did start wearing eye shadow at 15, but I only wore two colors, eye liner, and lipstick. My mom forbid foundation and blush. I didn't start wearing blush until age 35. These young girls looks so much older now and don't need to be wear full face make up to school.

  • This is great advice for high schoolers. Let us remember that not everyone going back to school is going to high school though. Some may also be college students (under grad and grad). So the look all depends on what level the student is on. Great job!

  • thats true, but this one is specifically geared towards teenagers. In my opinion, if you are out of highschool, you don't need a special back to school tutorial because you can wear any look you want.

  • Great video, that's kinda how I do my makeup to school too. No point bothering with so much makeup when it's only school, eh?

  • awesome video! best back to school makeup video i have watched! very simple :)

  • very nice and pretty

  • Amazing, this is wat even i recommend and did too!

  • That's very pretty clean look for teenagers

  • 5 stars GREAT advice

  • I totally agree.Makeup can make teenage girls look so much older. This is my favorite back to school makeup video!! Great advice!!!!

  • what blush are you wearing it looks good? Thanks for the info about the buffering lotion it works GREAT!

  • Its Blunt blush from MAC mixed with a little Pinch Me blush, also MAC. And I'm glad the lotion is working for ya!

  • Great vid and great advice!
