Jed Lowrie is scheduled to return to the Red Sox on July 18 against the Blue Jays.
"The best scenario was to option him yesterday so we could get him back in 10 days," manager Terry Francona said. "Thats when we think he should be ready to play." Lowrie's rehab, originally slated to end this week, was pushed back because of a couple rainouts and a "banged up" right knee.
