Montgomerie is probebly the greatest player NEVER to have won a big tournement, his strengths are definetely his accuracy in measuring shots, but always fell apart in the biggys.

I also dont like the way he turns round when he makes a bad shot for someone to blame.

Idiot captain??? Don't really see what he did wrong. everything he did worked out pretty well. Just they played better, our big players didn't play well and the media had it in for him.

Fair enough! And you're entitled. Monty is a great player too, and I really like him. I do think he is a bit arrogant and throws temper tantrums. Not sure how he will be as a captain-he should command lots of respect, but I can see one or two not liking him at all.

i think most top golfers can be a bit arrogant and throw temper tantrums from time to time but theres more made of it when monty does it because he has a history of it. I will always defend him just cos im such a big fan of him but he is that type of guy, you either like him or you dont.

You're right, they need to have absolute believe. I think oh I might mishit this-they think I'll birdie it. One of the reasons Im 14 handicap and they are much better. But I think that mentality carries through off the course. And you got to admit, Monty is up himself more than most. Brilliant player, not sure if I'd want to go for a beer with him-but who knows, the media do have it in for him-just like Faldo I guess.
