Emma Samms is very beautiful and a decent actress. She was wellcast as Joan Collins daughter, and as Catherine Oxenberg's sister, but not as a replacement for Pamela Sue Martin's very american, fiesty Fallon. Emma would have made a great
Amanda Carrington, or Kirby Colby. I loved DYNASTY and hope they revive it as the have DALLAS
If Emma Samms hadn't had the English accent, or it had been explained to be apart of her amnesia, I think she would've been a great Fallon. And if the scripts had been as well as they were in Season 9.The producers really lucked out with Samms/Martin and Oxenburg!
I loved the the Fallon character the first 2 years - she was fun to watch and had quite the personality. However, as Joan Collin's Alexis become more important, the Carrington children (Fallon and Steven) become less so and lost any sort of originality. For some reason, I thought Roger Grimes died in prison - didn't Alexis mention that when she first came to town?
I'm used to se spectacular death scenes, accidents, explosions, car chases in latino american and mexican soap operas. They are more violent. But I never ever saw something spectacular in american soap opera. They are dull, cheap, pointless, and they never end. Please help me find on you tube or tell me for some spectacular scens from a.sopa operas that I can change my opinion abou that.
@ri4get Watch One Life To Live Pt. 2 Cassie and Rob are burned at the stake (pt 1, too for that matter). And One Life To Live, Diane falls to her death in a scuffle with Dorian and Cassie. If you go on that channel, vicrobcal, OLTL from 84-88, 89 was spectacular! Trust me, you'll thank me! Hope you like it!
@zamusicza Out of her and the recast for Amanda, I liked Emma Samms as Fallon a bit better.
That said, it'd been MUCH better if they had cast Samms in the role of Amanda after Oxenburg was fired and they had cast someone such as Tracy Scoggins as Fallon (though I will admit she was good as MOnica).
@jadewarlock Or they should have just let Fallon leave. People leave all the time. Then majorly upped the screen time of Oxenburg's Amanda. I don't know what the producers problems were with her. Everyone I know who loved the show loved Amanda and Oxenburg. Amanda would have filled in the young bitch role perfect...but alas...Thing is I love Samms as an actress but as Fallong OMG no. I think you are right she would have made a good Amanda though.
@zamusicza Oxenburg was fired simply because she wanted more money. Unless she wanted what Joan Collins was getting, then I didn't see why they couldn't do it. That was it really - just money sadly.
Amanda when Fallon was gone in particular was great, and even with the two together, I could see the potential. Alas, the few times we see the two together it's the Samms Fallon and the Cellini Amanda.
Lets do the math....When Alexis returned in 1982 for Blakes trial she stated that she was banished 16 years previously by Blake when he found out about her afair with Roger Grime. So that would make it 1966 when Fallon shot him.
did anyone notice that young fallon is wearing velcro shoes--they didnt have velcor shoes in 1965--when this scene was to have taken place (Dynasty premiered in 1981 and it was stated that Alexis was gone for 16 years).
Alexis is supposed to be 26 in the flashback and yet, Joan Collins, in her fifthies, played the role! As for J. Eddie Peck (Roger Grimes), he got long hair despite the fact that in the early sixties it was poorly-judged for a man to let his hair grow!
I wish they never brought the character back after Pamela left. Emma never found her stride playing Fallon. This performance reflects how much of a "victim" the character became..a soap opera cliche over done on soaps. Emma isn't a bad actress..her portrayl was predictable and the character lost its edge.
was that really joan collins playing a younger version of her character??

@Aarona13760 I thought Alexis said, at Blake's trial, that he had beaten Roger Grimes and left him paralysed.
Whatever the original story - they changed it enormously and hoped nobody would notice

I say it was boring but that's because I'm only 14 yrs. Old

@zamusicza Nah, the worst recast was Amanda's replacement, Karen Cellini. Or it was Adam's replacement for the Reunion.

I'd say this happened between '68 and '70; the hippie era. This would explains Grimes long hair.

Ugh. Straight rip-off of the plot of "Marnie." Only Pamela Sue Anderson could be Fallon for me.

Even Emma Samm's age is wrong for playing Fallon... what awful casting! PSM was the bomb! ;)

@mrmagassi I agree, PSM was the bomb of Dynasty. I felt a big part of that show died when she left

@homeric9 I disagree; for the majority of season 9 she proved she could be much more feisty and more than just a victim.

Pamela Sue Martin made a better "Fallon" imo
