I actually argue the case of it being just United Chelsea 08/09 Liverpool finished second and this year arsenal are pushing at united. To be fair, and totally objective, UTD were by far the better team against Bayern last year and if it wasn't for them going down to 10 men they would have most likely won that game. Sometimes in football the best team loses, and that happened last year against Bayern.

For starters yeah Real have won the CL 9 times, but the last time was 9 years ago. Also only 2 teams from Spain have ever won it and at a total of 12 times only one more than English sides. Also let's face it, the Spanish league for the last couple years has only had one outcome. Barca or Real.

@zzzaaa0990 actually everton have been put into qualifying but that was a few years back. I actually argue the case of it being just United Chelsea 08/09 Liverpool finished second and this year arsenal are pushing at united. And yes Real have won it 9 times, but haven't done much in the last 5. Admittedly barca have won it twice in that time, and well done them, but against Chelsea there were 4 clear cases for penalties, so they were quite lucky.

@zzzaaa0990 another point i argue is that in the last 5 seasons there have been 11 appearances in CL semifinals from English clubs, as apposed to 4 from Spanish teams. And Barca makes 3 of them. The Spanish league has only two big teams. The others are not seen as major threats. Where as English teams are. Even spurs, who started as underdogs are looking danderous. They've beaten both milan sides, both being big clubs. Not to mention the fact that barca have lost to arsenal.

But i don't think it's anywhere near as exciting or as well supported as the EPL. Stadiums are only full in Spain when big teams play, but here they are full most matches. People want to see there team play live. Huge amounts of passion

@foley02k If you think the premiershit/p is better fine,but I certainly don't think so.You're using the the top 4 sides in the premiershit/p as a barometer to show how the premiershit/p is superior,but i disagree,look how big the gulf in class between them and the rest of the premiershit/p like Wigan,Blackburn,Bolton Stoke,these type of teams have struggled badly against what I class as rubbish teams from smaller countries,while La Liga has done very well in the EL,won it 04,06,07,'10,pl=1 in 01

And we didn't LOSE to Bayern. We only went out on away goals. And it was only down to Rafael being sent off. Bayern had the advantage with an extra man on the field.

@zzzaaa0990 Barce did NOT beat United in 1984, United beat them 3-2 on aggregate. This video CLEARLY shows at 1:37 that the fist goal in 1999 was NOWHERE near offside, you need your eyes testing! Last season the gap beyween 2nd and 3rd was 27 points, it's currently 12 points and i gaurantee that it will be much bigger come the end of the season. Barce are a great team, Real are good, the rest are very, very poor.
