If You want to go with speed above 180km/h then please buy Hayabusa :-) . V-Strom is motorcycle constructed not for speed but for nice long trips between 0-160km/h..

V-Strom 1000 have an error of 10% on the speedo ... so I dont want to break the fun but you are only running at 180km !!! The only valid speed reading on a V-Strom is from a GPS.

Above 150kph and the 650 starts to slow a bit. It will do 200kph but only at a push

One of the reasons I'm switching to a DL1000.

@Nakeele01 Drove both mate and I still prefer the DL650 over the 1000. The 1000 is very cumbersome and top heavy. The handling just wasnt there like it is on the 650. Plus if your under 5 ft 10" you'll struggle to touch the ground on the 1000. I bought a madstad bracket for my 650 and all the noise and buffeting went away very well.

@grahamlocklin yeah, but their speedos always indicate that they're going much faster than they are. i read that 185kph is it for a 650.

above 180 it does tremble, but its not hard to reach 200 ( Im talking about the 650 I think this is a 1000). However Ill say suspension works tops at 160.
