Whether she pronounced Gruyere correctly or incorrectly is irrelevant. If you're not watching the video to learn her way of making the soup no one's begging you to stay. We all make mistakes. She pronounced it close enough so that you knew what she was trying to say so I don't see what everyone is bitching for.
Just came across your channel!! I love onion soup, your recipie looks yumm, i think i'll be making it tomorrow! I'm definatly subscribing! Your very easy to listen to, and everything is very clear! Best wishes!

the way you pronounce gruyere couldn't be anymore incorrect if you tried. In fact I'm laughing my butt off every time you say it. Almost sounds like you're saying queer. It''s Gru... yier, thats how it's pronounced. MAN OH MAN...THAT'S FUNNY! HOW YOU PRONOUNCED GRUYERE! HAHAHA HOW WEIRD! It's just so peculiar that you wouldn't realize how to pronounce the cheese!!! HEHAHAHAHAHA EVERYBODY...LAUGH!!! A AH H AHAHAHA...GRUYERE!!! YOU PRONOUNCED IT WRONG!
My soup turned out really super. This is a easy recipe maria and I had fun cooking it.
I thought the onions would never brown. I used port wine in it because that's what I had on hand.
I like your cooking and I hope you don't stop taping all your wonderful recipes. You should get a remote control for your camera. you would then be able turn it on and off at the transitions from wherever your standing.
It's cold and rainy here in North Carolina. I'm going to run out to the Harris Teeter and get the ingredients and make this recipe of yours. It sure looks good! Thanks Maria for posting all your wonderful recipes. I very much prefer to watch real people in their own kitchens cooking real food.
I love french onion soup! You make yours the same way my mom makes hers, except she puts a giant piece of toasted bread with cheese on top. I'll tell her about the toasted croutons instead, because you're right: It is harder to eat with a giant piece of bread in the middle!
Nice recipe Maria. I used to make french onion soup and you have inspired me to make it again. One tip for viewers that you didn't mention is make sure to use unsalted butter while cooking the onions because if you use salted butter the salt will draw out too much moisture in the beginning and the onions won't caramelize as nice as yours did!

You have a beautiful kitchen and a good simple recipe, unlike many other so called FOS recipes I've found.
