Also a good example of an Automatic making cleaner shifts than a Manual. The Trans Am didn't hiccup during acceleration. He just kept going faster and faster. Pretty cool to see the LS1 handle the boost. I've heard stories of them blowin up over 6 lbs of boost.

@elloco529 V8 has bigger intake manifold, it can't handle the same pressure. It's simply physics, les PSI on a big area can be the same amount of air as more PSI in a smaller area.

No what I mean is because the v8 is simply bigger, it requires less PSI to get the same air. Just think of it as a pop bottle, say you have a 1 litre pop bottle and a 2 litre pop bottle. For both pop bottles to have the same amount of air in them, the 1 litre would need double the PSI of the 2 litre bottle.
It's that reason that v8's can't go really high pressure. If you put a turbo on the supra and a turbo on the trans am, 28 psi on a supra is like 16 psi on a trans am

I've went up against Turbo foxbodies and a Turbo Camaro and beat them. I am not running a T88 I'm running a 74mm turbo. I've gone up against Kenne Bell Cobras and beat them too. I haven't gone up against a Lingenfelter even though there are some old guys around here with them.
I've won and lost many races I just race for fun and I love my car. I don't think my car is the fastest on the street or really want it to be. I just like to be able to handle myself against strong cars.

Umm I own a Trans Am and do turns just fine. In fact nothing is more fun to me then spin around a corner and take off squealing the tires. An STI or Evo would most likely do better in a turn but thats cause of AWD. RWD cars do just fine. Only the old 60's heavy muscle cars are horrible in turns. Thats just an excuse import owners come up with to make themselves feel better about having less horsepower stock.

I've scene a built gt500 with 2007 technology V8 4V DOHC it took to make 1000HP my estimate; Kenne Bell SC $6500 Forged Bottom End $2800 Camshafts (springs locators etc) $2000 Top End $3000 Clutch & Flywheel $800 New driveshaft $1000 Tune $500 New fuel pump & injectors, frame connectors, etc $1200 and your trying to tell me u can get 1000HP from mid 90s V6 for 10k? If so the engine is only good for 4 runs before a rebuild Plus labour to install

actually it comes with a ls1 w/ ~350hp stock, there were very few that had the ls6/400hp option. you were close though. btw, i know because i have one.

How do you know if the supra is making 800whp? On average I've seen Supras make around 600-650 @ 21 with Huge turbos.

Umm I own a Trans Am and do turns just fine. In fact nothing is more fun to me then spin around a corner and take off squealing the tires. An STI or Evo would most likely do better in a turn but thats cause of AWD. RWD cars do just fine. Only the old 60's heavy muscle cars are horrible in turns. Thats just an excuse import owners come up with to make themselves feel better about having less horsepower stock.

congradulations japans top tier performance car beats "more than half" of american autos which is made up up of about 40% pick up trucks, 40% econoboxes and family sedans etc with maybe 10% being muscle cars and the other 10 going to the other catagory. if the V8 is running equal boost to your ricer you will get owned. know this-at the end of the day the quickest and fastest will be domestic.

ha ha 000882334 supra not a ''very nice passenger car'' only thing u can fit in the back seat is a booster-seat for todlers.(not very nice passenger car at all.) they were put in for look-prettys. supra was built by japs for the reason of going fast. and u cant get 1000rwhp range for 10k do research before you try to sound smart on a car that you know nothing about. besides, they only came out with 320rwhp (twin turbo, single turbo models only. non turbo had 220rwhp.)

100% tru datsrboi . do u own a twin turbo ? cuz those are quicker, but the main elure with supras is that for under 10k (assuming u already own one) you can put the hp/tq in to the 1000 ranges. they were well biult, and had many options (aftermarket) however stock, it was just a very nice passenger car.

The supra was only around for a couple years, and toyota even knew when to give it up, and just let it live in ricer infamy.
Get out to the track and see these cars, any import with 1000hp is only good for a couple of runs and will cost way more tha 10g.

actually it comes with a ls1 w/ ~350hp stock, there were very few that had the ls6/400hp option. you were close though. btw, i know because i have one.

The T/A also has more displacement than the Supra (5.7 liter V-8 vs 3.0 liter V-6). True, a smaller engine can match a larger engine with forced induction, but when all other factors are equal, the larger engine will put out more power. It's just physics.
