The clip is worthy of an show itself. To have photorealism with MS paint, a very simple program is quite amazing. I chuckle as it does keep with Close's princples of not using a brush. This is amazing
wonderful painter. And I haven't heard this piece I don't think, but I like it. I imagine if Glass saw this he would be stunned. He seems like a very nice man. Have you seen the documentary, A Portrait in Twelve Parts?
well...he's an american composer. and of the set that know him half love and half hate him. anyway, the music playing is one of his compositions. his work has been characterized as minimalism and in more recent years, post-minimalism, though the term is strictly speaking, a movement that was started in painting and glass was never a part of it. He has done many film scores. Much of his music is available for download. He has collaborated with many artists such as Ravi Shankar and Allen Ginsberg
thanks. this vid was first and foremost a tribute to two artists who have had a great influence on my creative life and it means alot to me that someone thinks its successful so thanks again. tom
I loved his score on The Hours and his various styled work. Chuck Close is such a great artist and I had the pleasure of viewing some prints of his art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I love this homage you pay to Glass. Great Work man!!!
Oh wow i'd kill to see some of Close' work in the flesh (so to speak). Hes such a personal inspiration and hero of mine. To create works as vast and creative as he has; and still does despute the limitations of his body. (which i don't mean in a condescending way.)
Very good! but i think that his right eye needs work( the colour is week).
