My husband and I saw this video after moving to Rancho Mirage last year and thus made our first trip to Idyllwild. What a beautiful little village, and the people are amazing. This video captures the spirit of the town, and we have since made a dozen trips up the mountain to enjoy the small town atmosphere, the jazz festival, the food, the people.. Thanks to the makers of the video for leading us to such a special place :)
as one of the teenagers of Idyllwild, i find this misleading video hilarious. yes the scenery is great but that's about all. with its sky high prices, meth head infestation, constant vandalism, and a horrible child's learning environment, the only thing IDY is good for is turning your son or daughter into a pot head and torturing yourself financially.
@chimpanda As one who was also a teenager here you summed it up! I guess they 'forgot' to include the tweakers and alcoholics always hanging around town as well as markets with 100% price mark-up and tourist junk...

LOL i remember i went there and i want to the gas station and all of the sudden i see this car come up full blast with rap music.I see a white boy come out with his pants all down showing his boxers....I was like WHHHHHHAATTTTTTT!!!!! I TRIED MY HARDEST NOT TO LAUGH!!!! In any other major city he would of not gotten away with that! Anyways this was a nice town.And is full of nice people.
Yeah, and who's doing this sequel? You? Try shooting anything of this quality for $5000. I work in video production. Do you have any clue what it takes to shoot and edit a video? If so... Go do it and stop bellyaching. Put your money where your mouth is. The world will always be full of those who do zero and create nothing but whining. As for me, I will continue to come to Idyllwild and spend my money. Even if the town has a few sour grape idiots, its also filled with great folks. I love it.
What sort of loser takes time out to thrash something that seems to have been created to help out a small economy in a hard financial period? Hum... yoga, jazz, rock climbing, art, shopping... its all there in a clear presentation. Yep... well worthy of thrashing. Garbage? What do you do BabyJane? Aside from sit home alone with your cats. Lighten up, maybe someone will give you the time of day, and you won't have to spend your time bitching about nothing. Loser.
A town that has many Hollywood tech & talent people residing there should be able to produce a much better video, whether the budget is $5,000 or $500,000.
And by the way, sure its pretty, but we really don't have anything to do. Since every where you look in town, there's a shop selling wool or figurines with your name on it, and they all close at five, the only place left is the movie theater.that only plays one movie. And it changes the movie like, once a month.
This is just the kind of video that puts a "secret", "undiscovered" places get over-discovered and trampled by tourism and outsiders that visit, fall in love with a place, move there, drive up land & house prices, and the cost of food and other basics. Nice footage and editing, but this is basically a 5 minute commercial to sell Idyllwild. No wonder the Chamber of Commerce financed this "student film"... boo!
The 'actress' in this crappola video has a voice made for silent pictures.
