  • If I believed in God I would say that Mr Stephen Fry is a gift from God:)

  • The enlightenment depended completely on the invention of the printing press. but what does a world look like where noone reads ?

  • We see the remains of a South American world which we don't understand and cannot grasp. And we are the poorer for it but if the Catholic World view is lost then we will be the poorer.

Stephens's view is a-historical.He is blind to the effects of time and place.

  • Stephen appears to lament the loss of the world which the Catholic Church replaced. He mentions the South American civilisations but these worlds were horrible almost beyond belief. Daily child sacrifice , brutal ball "games" played with life at stake.A gruesome stone age relic. No wonder the Spanish Conquistadores with all their faults thought they were bringing something better. What he is really lamenting is the loss of something which is gone forever and now the Catholic church...

  • Brilliant speech Steven!

  • The church sits upon seven hills and bathes in the blood of martyrs, whore of babylon

  • fatality, best speech I have heard, ever!

  • could we get the whole speech?

  • @jacobhghs43

Ephesians 5:27 "and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless."

    But which church?

Romans 16:16 "Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you."

The Church of Christ. Not Catholic Church; that church does not exist in the Bible. Would you like more?

  • @epanopio Are you really trying to argue that the Catholic Church can't be the Church that Christ established, because the name isn't "The Church of Christ"? That is probably the worst argument I have ever heard used against the Church. Congratulations. I've been defending the Church publicly for quite some time now, and you have won the distinction of using the worst argument I have ever heard. Plus, this is the internet, so that's saying something.

  • @epanopio But please, continue.

  • its the roman cathlic church an extension of the roman empire it is about power and control it is not a force for good

  • He's right, it isn't a force for good! Though it's a force for rape.

  • He is just making things up. Very few of the claims that he is making are based in fact.

  • He's right! the Catholic church is always getting in to what the goverment does or say's. Jesus said his true followers will have no part of the world! no part in what the goverment does, no part in the way the world lives! what they teach and believe some of it is not in the bible! like the rapture!! You go to heaven when you die, or hell.. all of it wrong!

  • @chuparmelapolla1 Just a few weeks ago the Church shut down it's adoption services in Illinois because the government was going to make them give children to same-sex couples. Do some research.

  • @jacobhghs43 why? they're still full of crap! Now they're changing how mass is done! they know there true color's are coming out! they will fall!! just watch them!

  • @chuparmelapolla1 They aren't full of crap. Turns out that after 2,000 years, you gain some very valuable experience. They aren't changing the Mass. They are moving to an updated translation of the old Latin texts. This is only in English-speaking countries. Again, do some research. We won't fall. " And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it." Matt 16:18

  • @jacobhghs43 Yea 2,000 years of burning people alive cause they were witchies! or because they didn't want to believe in the church teaching! great example! the church will fall! watch it was happen!!

  • @chuparmelapolla1 I would love to see a single shred of proof for that statement.

  • @jacobhghs43 history books! they killed thousands, google it! that church is nothing but a cult!

  • @chuparmelapolla1 History Lessons: /watch?v=K9FUGwdXL3M

    /watch?v=49tcQEPxYqA

Either way, it is irrelevant. Even if the allegations were true, that would not prove anything about the Church itself. It is the Church that Christ established. She may be filled with imperfect people, but the Church will prevail at the end of time.

  • @jacobhghs43 Christ has nothing to do with that church! didn't he say his true follower have no part of the world! and yet the church is in everything man does supports wars, they take sides in politico debate's. read the bible before you try to preach, in WW2 the same church supported both sides of the war! saying god is with you! the pope blessed them! the same people that killed thousands of people! the church will not prevail! it will fall even before Christ returns!

  • @jacobhghs43 I saw the Video, you suggested, still not changing my mind! if you want to believe in their teaching, then i can respect that, we all need something to believe in and hope for, this crazy world can not and will not last long! this is how i feel and see it. I have read 6 different bibles all almost the same, just small differences, they added so many things that the bible never suggested we do! I truly do wish you the best in my life,

  • @chuparmelapolla1 Also, the Church doesn't teach anything that is contrary to the Bible. It does teach some things that are not explicitly mentioned, but that does not make them contrary to Biblical teaching. Two facts about the Doctrine of Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone):

    1) It was never taught until Martin Luther.

    2) It is self-contradictory. It is not taught in the Bible. To believe it is to believe something that isn't taught in the Bible.

  • Catholic church DOES do right in accordance with what he believes is right. Not a single word, only the sad mistakes about sinful people and NOT about the Catholic church, only what strengthens his argument and incredible bias.

  • @soccer1288 the church of God has throughout time changed for worse, that's what he's pointing out. Remember that Jesus himself didn't walk and teach here on earth for nearly 2000 years.

  • @ischa91 so if I said I have knowledge of your life, that constitutes it as right? I may have wrong knowledge of your life in that I am misinformed and only know of your life of what I want to know of it and therefore knowledge can certainly be wrong, through misinformation. I honestly don't remember what this misinformed man said, and I do not wish to review such erroneous errors, but I DO remember him not speaking of how the Catholic church is not a force for good in all the things that the-

  • Horrible argument. Wrong knowledge. Poor him. :/

  • @soccer1288 wrong knowledge^^ amusing. nothing he says is untrue. there is no such thing as wrong knowledge, knowledge is allways right, and good.

  • No is he an etheist!?

  • Brilliant stuff

  • Perfect.
