  • UglyFaceOfBeauty sent me here =). Nice tutorial btw

  • what's your mac shade?

  • I love how you make it work with your pale skin rather than trying to cover it up. YEY for pale skin!!! <3

  • WOW i love your eyebrows :)

  • Ive been wanting this for forever but I thought I was too pale! This video has been so useful! Thanks! Subscribed!!

  • I've watched some of your videos, and I'm actually the only one who thinks you look so much like Ashley Greene? O.o

  • omg, theyre the exact products i use XD

  • where do you get those sort of sponges from? :) I love your videos, you seem so NICE XX

  • @fashionbyalice I think you can get one of those from Target.

  • this is the first video of yours i've seen - i love you and you have a new subbie ^-^

  • Wowser u look omg beautiful!

  • Lana Del Ray :)

  • I have the same problem, I'm ridiculously fair. I bought this product a few days ago and I've been wearing it over my foundation. However you're technique seems better and I'm going to give it a try to see if it works better for me :) Really really useful. xxx

  • Im glad I found someone fair like me <3

  • pretty! btw what camera do u used for filming? =)

  • Try Chanel vita lumiere aqua in the B shades so you will probably be a b10. They are beige and more yellow undertones than the BR range. Hope it works xx

  • I'm glad you did this video - I've always thought of it as a base but as you said people always wear it over foundation. It looks a lot more natural this way. I may now bite the bullet & go ahead & buy it. I never did before as I'm NC15 & thought it may be a bit much - I wonder if my Chanel counter will be good enough to give me a sample (probs not!). Thanks chick. xx

  • I needed this , I'm also fair (Nars Siberia!) thanx....what song is that?

  • I love the idea of putting the cream bronzer under the foundation! Great idea! I will try it.

  • r they ur real nails?

  • @HeavenOfMakeup Yep! x

  • I'm also super duper pale, have seen/heard a lot of people talking about this I think I really need it, you looks gorgeous love the placement of were you put it perfection, I work at Sephora and bitches come in with bronzer smothered all over bunch of oompa loompa look a likes LOL

eat shit to the person above that left a comment about contouring etc, what a duuumb ass!

    <3

    Gina

  • I'm REALLY pale and pink toned but I have mostly found foundations to be more yellow than pink in pale shades (drug store, nars, bobbi brown, mac, etc), so point me towards those pink ones you've encountered!! Which foundations have you found to be too pink for the really pale shades...? So far all I can use is MUFE! help a pale sista out!!! :D

  • Omg i am such a loser, i thought it was a moose product haha! x

  • that makeup is flawless, woman! FLAWLESS! and did u lose weight? i dont know if thats an awkward question, something is just different about u. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Stunning!! xx

  • just subscribed and love your videos SOOOO much, can't stop watching them! =O lots of love, Francesca ;)

  • You look beautiful. I'm pretty pale too and I think this may work for me. Thank you!

  • @dirtychucks she's already responded to your original comment explaining where she was coming from in the title so there was really no need for that response was there?

    did you miss something?

  • You looked amazing in this video! I just don't understand the controversy over bronzer though?lol I think people need to stop trying to school you on how to use a certain product. Recommendations are always nice, but don't need to be rude about it. Also thinking that their way is always right is arrogant if you ask me. It's about personal preference and what works best for you.

  • This is such a good video idea :) xxx

  • u r INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL!!!! i have officially fallen in love with your eyes they are so blue oh em gee i love you already and this is the first of ur videos i have seen u make pale look good.

ps i am pale too and i am pretty sure my skin is transparent and u can see my bones that is why i am so pale :)

  • you remind me of Cherry Healy sometimes :) she is gorgeous!!

  • oh no i feel lik i need this in my life now! looks so well on pale skin! xx

  • I adore you!!!!

  • the song! <3

  • P.S- I'm also dating an Asian guy! We did the long distance thing too- he was from the US and moved to Calgary with me :)

  • Girl, it is soooo nice to find a fellow fair skinned Canadian beauty! Thank you for helping me to appreciate my alabaster skin- -- watching your gorgeous pale skin makes me excited about mine! xoxo

  • im a mua in progress...what about on tops of your cheekbones and the other high points of the face? have you tried that for the "sunkissed look"? would love to know how that works out before i try it on fair skin clients... thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • I love your technique of putting it under your foundation. I don't have the pale skin issue, but that's a really smart way for paler people to use bronzer.

    P.S. your hair looks lovely!

  • I just wanted to say this was my fav, "get ready w/ me" type of video. So cool. Loved the lighting on this video, outstanding camera angle....not sure if Aslan helped w/ that or not...

  • Ohh my God, thank you so much for his video, I've had the Chanel bronzer sat in my drawer for months because the day I bought it and used it it just looked absolutely ridiculous over my foundation, I didn't think to use it under, that's a brilliant idea!

  • Maybe i'm the only italian person that follow you, but it's ok :)

    I LOVE your video.

    Good luck for everything babe.

    xx

  • Yay, someone else with super pale skin :) Fab video!

  • I always thought bronzer was meant for the hollows and blush for the apples so I don't see what everyone's complaining about, I thought it was very helpful! Thanks! :D xx

  • Thanks for this video. I have been avoiding contouring and bronzing products because I have fair skin. I never would have thought to apply them under my foundation. Great idea.

  • Ah, this product is amazing! I'm not buying it though, because I'm too expensive! This whole make-up look is gorgeous, actually.

  • too bad that the Matchmaster oxidized on you :-( I have just bought the Gosh X-ceptional wear foundation in Porcelain. The first drugstore foundation that is EXACTLY my skin color and tone, but it oxidized as well!! Aaargh, I hate that!

  • Love the look, this video was so helpful. I think I need to buy some Nars sheer glow...

  • Thanks for this video, it's very informative. Although I don't have pale skin I find seeing other people's methods very interesting and useful. :-) And LOVE Chanel Soleil deTan!!!

  • and btw i do believe that Too faced has a cream bronzer too :) xoxo :)

  • Goooosh just stop writing hating comments! I have fair skin as well and I am using the same product for brozing and contouring as well.! I don't see any problem there, but you see what you want to see right?

  • Loved your video as always! The brow ink did a great job filling in eyebrows, do you it would work to elongate eyebrows? Mine are very short and stop a little past mid-eye (if that makes any sense) so i always use a pencil the draw them in, one of the downsides is that sometimes it rubs off. Do you think this would give somewhat of a natural look if i were to use it to draw in the rest?

  • Comment removed

  • SOOOO SO SO STUNNING!

  • @danielamilan OH my god. PLEASE read the other comments! You can use this product however you want! I was simply showing how to make a bronzing product WORK if you have a light complexion. You can put it on top of your cheekbones, under your cheekbones, put it wherever the HELL you want! I USE IT AS A CONTOUR!

  • I've been following you on your blog for a longggg time now, maybe like a 6 mo to a year? ANYWAY I only discovered your YT account a couple days ago ( LOL) and HOLY CRAP am I in love with your channel or what. I love this whole tutorial. I LOVEEE your tutorials. And I love your channel. And your face. Your beautiful face. :D :) <3

  • Oh gosh Estée I wish you didn't use that gorgeous Mac warm soul blush because I'm completely lusting after it now! I love that Chanel bronzer and the way you've applied

everything, gorgeous! And so natural looking still :)

  • Is the Soleil Tan de Chanel fragrances like most Chanel products, cos i would realli like to use it, but i hav realli sensitive skin so therefore don't want to risk breakouts :S

BTW I love ur videos :) xxx

  • I NEED that foundation brush! haha! Great video! I am going to try this.

  • This is such a great idea! I'm a touch too fair for my Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel right now due to winter, so I'll have to try this method... thanks! :)

  • FUCK MAKE UP

  • @heydek LOLOLOLOLOLOL!

  • Awww Estée!! You make me smile!! Haha I couldn't stop smiling watching this your so pretty!! Love your vids :) makes me wanna put on some bronzer hahaha ! :D

  • I've been looking at that bronzer for a while and I read at the nordstrom's website that you can use it under or over foundation, so you're definitely normal, haha.

  • yr makeup looks so pretty in this video!

  • @dirtychucks shes a youtube beauty guru, i think shes perfectly aware what the difference between bronzing and contouring is. the title doesn't say "how to bronze", its how to make the this particular product work for fair skin. and for one i found this really helpful! i was looking into buying this bronzer and the effect you gave it is beautiful! thankyou x

  • @PeachyJohnson The opening title of the video says "How to bronze fair skin". Did you miss something?

  • Hourglass also has a bronzer similar to the Chanel one. It comes with a cream highlighter or a cream blush in a duo compact.

  • Your skin is gorgeous !

  • the lady in the bobby-brown matched me with a way darker than i like corrector and concealer :( i should have known better :"(

  • @weshasawi Store of my LIFE! I always get samples because no one can ever match me right! x

  • yayyy~ i was wondering how laguna was working for u.. im very fair & wanted to see if laguna is a product for me :0

  • You always look sooo perfect!

  • you said "eh"!!! argh this makes me so happy, i must now go show my canadian friend this vid, not that he cares about makeup but he's always correcting me when i say ey.

really love your videos estée:) been thinking of starting my own channel the last while, dunno where to start but if i ever do, holla! haha :)xx

  • i have the same problems with bronzers, im always scared it will be way too dark because im almost as pale as you are. Also i was interested in the nars sheer glow foundation but its on the expensive side and i heard the neutrogena healthy skin was very similar but their lightest color isnt light enough

  • i dont understand why people always use bronzer under their cheekbones. i mean, who naturally bronzes there? i use bronzer to look like i have a tan, so i slap it onto my cheekbones and i asume thats what they sell bronzer for... (and that defines your cheekbones too!)

but besides that i love your videos ;)

  • @misssophie02 I didn't always put my bronzer there, but I found it was a great way to make my face look a bit slimmer! The technical term is called contouring & you can do it on many different areas of your face! You can actually use the chanel bronzer ALL over your face, but that's just a bit too much for my complexion! It would also look great to put the bronzer onto your cheekbones! This video was just to demonstrate HOW to make it work with fair skin! x

  • I have always had the problem of fair foundation being too pink until I took the leap and bought Siberia! I have also always avoided bronzer because I'm so fair but I think I'm going to get Chanel's Soleil tan de Chanel! Do you know if there is a Vitalumiere Aqua shade that compares to Siberia?

  • you are so well spoken! x

  • girl your skin is just so beautiful. i'm so envious!

  • this is an amazing idea :D will try it for sure,. <3

  • try the nicola roberts dainty doll liquid foundation..amazingly pale!!xx

  • I love everything about this video (especially the music). Being fair is basically the story of my life and everything you said about the Chanel bronzer is 100% TRUTH. It's amazing, I'm going to have to try it under my foundation next time I wear it :) love you girllll

  • such great advice :) I reaaally want the bronze universal now

  • estee, you are one lovely lady! I will be acquiring that bronzer as soon as I run out of my beloved Hoola. LOVE YOU!

    Talia <3

  • oh GREAT, now i want the chanel bronzer. I had convinced myself I didn't need it because my skin is almost as light as yours, but now you've made me want it haha.

also, your skin looks really clear and gorgeous in this video.

  • u look soooo Beautiful

  • i don't know if someone else's has mentioned this but danity doll is a range of make up which is made for really pale skinned girls, it was created by Nicola Roberts form girls aloud because she couldn't find a foundation light enough for her. Check it out x

  • preach on sister! finding fair yellow toned foundations is so frigging hard and looking like a lobster is so painfully embarrassing. Giorgio Armani also understands our fair yellow skin. Lasting Silk Shade No. 2 in the house

  • you are just amazing... i LOVE your videos so much!

  • This is £29 in boots - WAY less than I was expecting! I think I'm becoming less of a cheapskate because I actually think it's reasonable. Something about cream bronzer intrigues me... Will definitely have to consider it. For now, Mac's Omega is great for contouring :) x

  • I find this bronzer hard to use as well, maybe it's the brush i'm using with it but will definitely have a go this way! Also you really remind me of Rachel Mcadams in this video!! x

  • What is the song in this video?

  • @LetiziaLQA Born to Die-Lana Del Rey Remix (Woodkid & The Shoes)

  • @lovealotx thanks!!

  • Must you be so beautiful!? You're making the rest of us look bad! Love the video <3 x

  • God, you are so beautiful! The lipstick brings the whole look together and it looks absolutely perfect on you! xxx

  • L'egere is a fantastic brand :) Welcome to the wonderful world of Asian cosmetics ;)

  • You are such a natural beauty!

  • I just can't get over how flawless you look after you put the Nars Sheer Glow on! I am in AWE! I can't wait until I get my hands on it :) You look like a flawless porcelain doll at the end, seriously, just beautiful.

And I love the way you do your videos, with the songs in-between and the quickened up speed. Sometimes I feel it gets a bit boring with other you tubers when they really show EACH AND EVERY step along the way and just keep rambling on :)

  • I love this new makeup and hair look you are doing. You look stunning!

  • You look incredibley breathtakingly Beautiful <33 - No homo lool x

  • Thankyou so much! Ive been lusting over the chanel bronzer for so long now but havnt purchased it because I'm really pale and its pretty dark! so this is so helpful!

I also have trouble finding foundation to match my fair skin, but revlon photo ready comes in a really light shade, you should check it out if you have not already done so! :) xxx

  • Your makeup looks so effortless at the end of this video! How long does it take you from start to finish? Regardless very nice!! :) Bronzers have always scared me. Sometimes I've somewhat looked like an oompa loompa's distant cousin! LOL

  • Lana Del Ray! Oh man I have been listening to that song non stop haha.

  • Love this look! Simple and classy.

  • you are such a beauty! makeup is gorg!! even with my skintone I feel bronzers are a bit intimidating so I usually skip it. buuuut after seeing this I will have to give them another chance! great video :)

  • Your face looks somehow alot slimmer and your cheeks alot more hollow in this video i dont know why! did you lose alot of weight or something?

  • Beautiful Estee! You look like you have lost weight!

  • since you have a lot of 'layers' of make up on i was wondering if it also feels that way?

    it looks very nice though!

  • Thank you so much! This is really helpful.

  • Your placement of the bronzer is more contouring rather than "bronzing". In other words your putting it more on the low plains of your face than the high points where the sun would naturally "bronze" your face. Also you might try mixing the bronzer and your foundation on the back of your hand and applying it that way.

  • @dirtychucks Yeah I guess it is considered contouring, but I basically just meant how to actually use a bronzer on fair skin. At the moment I'm perfectly happy with the way I'm doing it! Whatever works for you, right?

  • @essiebutton I didn't mean you should change how you were doing it I was just suggesting another way you could do it. ;)

  • @dirtychucks *Bronzing* on fair skin = end up looking like an oompa loompa no matter what you use :(

  • HOLY CRAP i never thought i would say this but i need that chanel bronzer in my life.

  • You are just so so pretty!

  • This look is completely stunning on you! Flawless in fact. I always like seeing videos catering to paler skin as I'm super, and I mean SUPER ghostly and it just seems that options for pale skin are always forgotten!

  • You look phenomenal! So elegant and naturally beautiful!

  • You've just made my life complete as I've avoided bronzer all these years due to how pale my skin is. :) Thank you very much. And yes, I agree, your look is quite feminine and natural. I quite like it. Maybe I'll also have to try to wean myself off my liquid eyeliner addiction. Much love from Canada.

  • I am so going to try this! I never thought to put bronzer under my foundation! Thanks so much! :) Also loving the Lana Del Ray! :D

  • Hi Essie! Great video - although I have an olive skin tone I find bronzers really hard to use. Always feel like I look like a cast member of Jersey Shore (trust me - it's scary!). Thanks for always letting your personality shine through on these vids! You're one of my favorite beauty gurus!

  • Brilliant IDEA!!! Thank you I am fair also well not as fair as you but pretty light. I also find the bronze universal hard to use. Now I am going to try it this way....I think you just solved my problem. THANKS!

  • @livegorgeouslygreen I really hope this works for you as well as it works for me! I was beginning to think I'd have to get rid of the Chanel bronzer! THANK GOD I didn't! Let me know if you like it when you use it like this! x

  • This is so helpful! You look so gorgeous, I love you make-up style (:

  • @thewiermans Thank you so much! It's taken me a long time to even get to this stage in my makeup life! I used to wear blue eyeshadow & TONNES of eyeliner, haha! Live & learn I suppose! x

  • I just found you couple of day ago, Im so glad! Love love this tutorial! You looks so beautiful!

  • @312lucy Aww, thank you! Glad you found me! x

  • Aaaa this is extremely helpful! i struggle so much with my super pale skin, can't seem to find a way to contour it without looking dirty. I'll definitely try this technique!

  • @afoxmask YAY! It is really hard to have pale skin, eh! You should also take a look at the Dainty Doll Blush in Money Talks if you're in the UK. It's more of a purply taupe colour & that's an AMAZING contour if you want an alternative for bronzer! x

  • @essiebutton that's on my wishlist, actually! i'm not in the UK but i guess we can still get it in Europe, if not, next time I'm on the UK i'll definitely get it ;) Thanks!

  • @afoxmask I'm paler than NW15, Mac's Omega eyeshadow is the only thing that works for me :)

  • @serahlouisex i feel ya, Mac's NW15 is WAY too orange and dark for me too. Oh yay using eyeshadows as bronzers, never thought of it! Brilliant idea, I only have Wedge from mac and I'll try that one out, but considering buying Omega next time I'm shopping there, thanks!

  • ohhh i LOVE lana del rey´s new song!!!

  • @msdaphne1986 Meee tooooooo! x

  • the lighting is really bright..... you look ghostly. Im as pale as you. Maybe you could do a foundation for pale people guide or something? I struggle a lot with my foundation being to orange for me. Thanks ;]

  • @Angeliukas92 I was sitting in front of a window, but honestly that is how pale I am. I guess I am ghostly... As I said in the video, the only foundation that's perfect for me is the NARS Sheer Glow in Siberia! x

  • natural is the key!

  • @EvaCookieg 'Tis isn't it! x

  • You look lovely, this look suits you :+)

  • @gipsie100 Thank you! xx

  • Great tutorial :) thanks! Xx

  • @jumpersandjam Thank youuuu! x

  • I really thought you already had foundation on at the start of the video. Your skin is so flawless. I'm very jealous :P

  • @SarwenRHCPrule Oh my gosh! Flawless is QUITE the exaggeration, I think! I'm telling you, the clarisonic does wonders! x

  • such a helpful tutorial! thanks! I find it so hard to bronze my super pale skin :)

  • @thebeautypixi I'm so glad you found it helpful! Glad to do it! x

  • most useful video ever! i struggle so much with bronzer making me look crazy.

  • @TheBratpacker1 I'm really glad it's useful! I was wondering if people would be like "yeah, knew that already!" Thank you! x

  • you have amazing cheekbones! Lovely video x

  • @hahdelucie I've NEVER heard that before! So thank you! x

  • you are so unbelievably beautiful <3

  • @anastaelsen Thank you so much! x

  • I brought Nars sheer glow in siberia because of you and it is perfect, looks like I'm going to have to buy that bronzer now as well and say goodbye to any money I have!

  • @e199600 I'm so, so glad you like it! It's a wonderful foundation! I'm really sorry about making you poor, though! LOL! x

  • LOVE your hair in this video!!

  • @LucyLoom Thank you! Something different, eh!? x

  • That is such a pretty look! I really enjoy your videos, you make such an effort with them, the camera quality is excellent and I find your opinions really helpful! :)

  • @marmitemel Thank you so much! & thanks for appreciating the effort it takes! I don't mind doing it-in fact I love it! I actually spent all day doing this, so it's really nice when the viewer realizes it! It means a lot to me, really! So THANK YOU! x

  • This video's great! I have pale skin and kind of just stay away from bronzers because they all look orange-y. It's also great to have someone on youtube that has pale skin so that I can see how products look :) Absolutely love the mac warm soul blush, kind of want to go get it now!

  • @totatigo I hear you! I didn't wear bronzer for AGES because I thought it looked weird! & to be honest, it does look really out of place if I just slap it on. I really have to work to make it look flattering, but luckily now at least I know HOW! I'm really glad my tips are useful to pale people! It's quite hard sometimes! Warm soul is STUNNING! One of my all time favourites! x

  • Woah this might have just changed my life... I had never thought of using the bronzer before foundation!!! If this works on me I'm gonna be the happiest person in town!!! Also, which color is the brow ink?

  • @itsasoEh Are you serious!? THEN THIS IS ALL WORTHWHILE! Changing the world, one contour at a time. I'll put the colour of the Brow Ink the description later! I can't remember for the life of me! x

  • the description for this product on the nordstroms website says you can use it on top or underneath so you were right the whole time :) i use it over because im obviously tan lol
