Nobody in Hawaii claims the Haka belongs to Hawaii, its the Ha'a. It's stupid haoles that say it because they're stupid!
The Polynesians raised on the mainland disappoint me because they do the Haka for show and not to TRULY honor the Polynesian warrior spirit, its like 20% honor and 80% show. The haoles eat it up too!
If you're raised in Hawaii you know what the Haka means and who it belongs to, the Maoris. Its not for show but to honor our Polynesian roots and warrior culture! That simple!!
@spacecadetz I agree that Polynesians raised in America only do dances, no matter which ones they do, only for show and not for the spirit they represent of their respective peoples. The sad thing is that when most non-Maori perform any form of haka, it's incorrectly performed. As a Pacific Islander, I feel that nobody, even other islanders, should perform certain dances just for show. Instead, have some reverence for our cultures and not just perform them for applause and attention.
Eh we didn't say the Haka is our.. in fact for the 2007 season we made our own and called it the ha'a...We no longer use the haka.. But eh so what if we did we are all polynesian.. Anyways Sing on Hawaii.. Go warriors!!
Look here you stupid haole, in fact I do know how to spell. In regards to school, don't be upset that I completed and you didn't. You must be one of the dumb haoles that was upset because you dont understand the song and the meaning behind it. Its ok, better you don't understand.

Stop crying. You completed school in hawaii, so that means what, now you can pretend to spell when called out for spelling like an idiot with hawaii based education. You guys can sing at your football games just don't sing at ours. I'm gonna say it again: The WAC sucks! Your teams prove it EVERY year. If our teams were this bad I guess I would sing too.

Were you all crying because of the nationally televised ass-whipping or because none of us give a crap about the stupid song and dance show you all put on.
Keep this trash in the WAC where it belongs. We got real football to play in the big country.
Maybe National Geographic would be interested in this cultural crap.
You're blaming us? We went to the Sugar Bowl because of the faulted BCS selection system which is still unchanged. Like it or not, teams like us will still make it to BCS bowl games. I don't remember anyone crying for the loss. We don't care if no one else gives a shit about what we do...and we're the Hawaii Warriors, not "DAWGS". Or maybe we should blame App St. for starting that controversial season with that improbable upset.
thank you for posting this! i was there in the band, and i my eyes were tearing when we played this. totally unexpected, but yet very necessary. i was glad we got to show our aloha spirit to the georgians and louisianans. they really liked us.

Talk about no respect for any team who had a chance to get as far as they could.
Crying.. to be blessed to have the opportunity to get that far. Who cares if UH lost?
Stupid song and dance? Sure.. if you don't understand what it's all about. Such ignorance.
National Geographic would be interested in this cultural crap?? It's the 21st Century.. where have you been besides under a rock?
Aloha and Mahalo

National Geographic covers legitimate cultures not ones that use other cultural customs as "their" trademark.
I know, I subscribe to the magazine.
The ignorance is hawaii always saying that the haka belongs solely to them when it's been exposed that it doesn't.
Just because hawaii consumes more spam than anyone else doesn't mean they invented it.
Sie sind HEISS!!

I agree.. but.. Not everyone in Hawaii claims that the Haka belongs to just "Hawaii."
Thats what happens when you have all Polynesian groups mixed together in one state.
Haka is Maori. :o)
