This is the first time I have heard of these boys OR the carol. Now that I have a computer, I can listen to them over and over. They must be teenagers now with changed voices, but what an angelic treat we have had.

one of the most beautiful choral pieces ever composed. And not as easy a piece to perform as it sounds. Very well done. Although I do miss the bass/baritone line being lower, lending a bit of darkness to the minor chords.

Yes, the pictch of the boys is nice, not too low or high.  Sounds better I think with many voices (2-3) than one.

Boys have been singing like this in our cathedrals for hundreds of years. It amazes me that in this age of information, this sound, wonderful as it is, should be a revelation. If you want more - find a cathedral!

@colenso05 This amazes me too. I think this sound is beautiful in it's simplicity and accuracy of intonation, unadulterated by excessive vibrato . I wish this tonal ideal was more universally admired here in the US among both soloists and choirs. As a hopeful future choir director I will certainly aim to train and achieve this type of singing.
