Yes in the late 90's he was pulling at 154 lbs. / 70kg! I think he won Russian Nationals back then at that weight iirc. Then he moved and got out of AW and into strongman, went to a AW tourney in 2005 without training for it, and took 2nd to Ivan Matyushenko. Was invited to Nemiroff 2007 but didn't have enough time to prepare but decided to start training again, late 2007. Shows that his AW specific training helped him and it's not all weights. Got this info from his website bio

Denis would beat him like nothing... left handed only Travis Bagent stands a chance, right handed a healthy Brzenk or Devon Larratt might stand a chance...

Denis beat Andrey Antonov pretty easily, and he has beaten Brzenk before. Yet Brzenk beat Denis twice yesterday! Amazing! And John weighed 205 lbs.
