I am converting to Wicca and I found this story very interesting... My family doesn't understand why I want to become Wiccan and no longer want to be a catholic. I felt that being a catholic wasn't for me and I was missing something in my life. Then I found this beautiful religion and realized that Wicca is what I have been looking for.
@myronmlawing Actually the word "witch" is derived from the words wicca and wicce. Which means "wise". The concept of a witch flying through the air or turning people into animals was all made up by ignorant people of the past. And then later enhanced by Hollywood and other such companies. So while Wicca is a relatively new religion. It is completely related to its name and so are the people who go by witch. So maybe in the future you should check your facts before you make comments like this.
Are you one of the Christians going on Pagan videos yelling about how evil Paganism is? No? Then that obviously wasn't meant for you. The Christians I was referring too were obviously the ones who go and bash other people's beliefs (As I said) And I am glad I am not a christian, that's just my opinion. Many years ago I immersed myself in this belief. The turning point came when a demon presented itself to me, promising me special powers if I would let "it" come into my spirit and take over. - Freaked out, I began to search for God. I had never thought He would be found through Jesus Christ. But, I asked Him to show me if He was real. His presentation was to take me out of my body and into His heart. Jesus is "the Way, the Truth and the Life." I know the "hocus pocus" works, but it has a price.

@argai89 I feel like crafting a phallic symbol and laying somewhere around my computer desk. Then when people come in and ask why I have a dildo on my computer desk I can tell them it's fertility charm. Rubbing the divine phallic will make your seed strong. That is why my seed is so potent.
Mmmm....not impressed by the production so far. Harry Potter music...not really appropriate or relevant to anyone properly informed and there is no such thing as a White Witch except in CS Lewis. Magic is not good or bad...people are. If you are doing curses then you are not practicing Wicca.
I do like the bit about the woman saying she likes going to church. Wicca doesn't tell you not to do that. Christianity has a problem with it. Wicca accepts almost everything which is why it's so nice.
What do you mean there's no poetry in religion? What about the hindu religion. Prayers are basically in song form. Dances are for God. In Christianity there is also dancing for God. You people are sick.
@BillieBaby143 We don't mean Poetry as in the usual song rhymes. Poetry is much more than praise, words, and sound rhyme. Poetry is heart-felt emotion. By looking beyond the words, you can discover the true meaning of the poem, and you can dive into the emotion and experience it yourself. THAT is Poetry.

@celticbattleaxe So maybe we have a different understanding of what poetry is, but by your definition, I find exactly that in some religions. Again, Hinduism, Christianity. I've been to many temples and churches and seen powerful heart-felt, as you'd say, praises. And I was wrong to use the word "sick," my apologies. But all of this rituals can be meaningless. It's faith that we need. Likewise, we can pray to Jesus all we want, but we won't get anything out of it without faith.
@BillieBaby143 Well, I don't find it in christianity at all, but that's me. I've seen 'praises' that were crazy frenzies of rambling and arm waving in the air like some beserk gesticulations. That's what I've seen. I used to be catholic. But hey, not all are bad people. I have quite a few Christian friends, and we get along well.

Metaphysics tells us that this dimension is slowed down by time, whereas the Otherworld's vibration is at a much faster rate, so there is no concept of time in the Otherworld. Magic is using energy and 'molding' it into the desired outcome. Because time slows down the rate at which magic can unfold, it is unlikely that the outcome will occur right after the ritual. You won't find websites with actual evidence of a successful ritual because it breaks one of the 4 Laws, the Power to Remain Silent. In this case, if the practitioner doesn't mention it to anyone, then no one will be able to slow the outcome down. If other people are told about the ritual, they'll think...
1- if this otherworld has no concept of time, wouldn't that mean theoretically a ritual can take like 1000 years to take effect?
2- let's say (hypothetically) i performed curse/ritual directed at someone i didn't like, and then 1 week later their house gets robbed or their pet dies or something, how would you know if that was the spell or just mere coincidence?
@SpartanDrazen By no concept of time, there is nothing to slow down the effect of a spell/ritual. Because this dimension is 'ruled' by time, magic takes longer to unfold. Time is what 'grounds' us in this dimension.
Well, I firstly wouldn't do that (because of the Law of Karma), but putting that aside, you would know if the spell worked. If you are not confident in your abilities when you perform magic, nothing will happen. Magic is 90% mind power and 10 paraphernalia.

When doing a ritual or spell, it is of the utmost importance to visualize the desire coming true. This is what gives it the power to happen. By thinking about something, focusing ONLY on that while blocking everything else out, you can do anything. But because the Otherworld...

When we say that something is a coincidence, we repress the likely-hood that the outcome is not.

But yeah, if Pagan rituals didn't work, Wicca would not exist, Druidry wouldn't exist, Witchcraft wouldn't, Asatru and Seidr wouldn't, etc. And even in the US, there are millions of practitioners of some form of Paganism.

4- i'm not religious and christians are simply the worst. but honestly im trying to see the difference between christianity's prayers and wiccan spells. in both scenarios a person calls upon a greater power to influence/change something in reality, and if any coincidences occur that even slightly relate to a christian's prayers, all you hear is "thank god, my prayers have been answered etc. etc."
@SpartanDrazen When casting a spell or doing any form of magic, if you tell other people about it, they will think about it, and most likely try to say in their heads that such a thing is false. So now, their negative thoughts (not 'evil', but negative by degrading). This is why Witches, Wiccans, and in fact all Pagans believe in the Power if Silence. If your thoughts alone focus on a goal with no one else degrading the outcome by not believing such a thing can happen, the magic..

When in a coven, or a group of Witches, the magic is stronger because more people are focusing on the outcome, and putting all their energy in to the outcome's unfolding. In this case, others can think about the ritual, but ONLY the ones in the coven - sometimes, you are told to make an oath of secrecy never to reveal the workings in the Circle to become part of the coven for that reason.

The main difference is that Pagans call upon many entities to help them - not just Deities (there can be Christian Witches, too), but Elementals, spirits, ancestors, etc. christians, for the most part, are what I call spiritually obsessed, trying to make spiritual connections with anything they think is spiritual, when in fact, they are far from spiritual self-actualization
@SpartanDrazen An example of a spiritually obsessed person is one who would use tarot cards to decide whether or not to go the bathroom. They can be anyone, but many are christians. They would think that an exorcism on a random person is 'the will of god'. Now, Christians (notice I make a differentiation between 'christians' and 'Christians') aren't like this, and Christians are the few people who try to understand Pagans for who we are, and they are nice people.

Religion is an amazing thing- it gives everyone they're own happiness, and while I myself am technically a Mormon ('Course, I disagree with about 90% of the Mormon religion) I find myself feeling much more comfortable and correct with the Wiccans. However- This should not cause any rift among people. We could all be friends ya know :D
I don't mind Christians at all so long as they don't insult other religions (or my own). Heck, I have Christian friends, Buddhist friends, Hindu friends, Wiccan friends, Shaman friends, Atheist friends, Druid friends, etc. We respect each other - the problem is that many christians don't (notice I make a differentiation between 'Christians' and 'christians'), and they refuse to, especially in the bible belt.

There is dancing, fun, and poetry in religion. It's just that one person is given the charge to dictate how to direct the religion, is when all of the beauty goes out of it, and it becomes a list of rules and punishments.

@SpartanDrazen By no concept of time, there is nothing to slow down the effect of a spell/ritual. Because this dimension is 'ruled' by time, magic takes longer to unfold. Time is what 'grounds' us in this dimension.
Well, I firstly wouldn't do that (because of the Law of Karma), but putting that aside, you would know if the spell worked. If you are not confident in your abilities when you perform magic, nothing will happen. Magic is 90% mind power and 10 paraphernalia.

Religion is an amazing thing- it gives everyone they're own happiness, and while I myself am technically a Mormon ('Course, I disagree with about 90% of the Mormon religion) I find myself feeling much more comfortable and correct with the Wiccans. However- This should not cause any rift among people. We could all be friends ya know :D

I don't mind Christians at all so long as they don't insult other religions (or my own). Heck, I have Christian friends, Buddhist friends, Hindu friends, Wiccan friends, Shaman friends, Atheist friends, Druid friends, etc. We respect each other - the problem is that many christians don't (notice I make a differentiation between 'Christians' and 'christians'), and they refuse to, especially in the bible belt.

@A2P86 I do know what a real Christian is. I have lots of real Christian friends. I even have an aunt who's a nun. & none of them have ever tried to convert or change me. They respect me & my faith. They are real Christians. You arent one of them. I'm defending all the innocent people on here you seek to harass. I know who cares about me. You arent 1 of them. @A2P86 I have a short temper with people who harass innocent people in the name of their God. Your faith is a simpler faith. Thats not an insult, thats fact. Christians like you still attack, harrass, & discriminate other people like gays & Wiccans in the name of your God. Sometimes resorting to violence. The bible says to kill certain people. & since the bible is the word of God, you must do what it says. You pick & choose what you want to follow. It makes you a hypocrite. Pure & simple.
