I never said anything negative about them or their performance because honestly I do like simple gifts and also if I didn't like SCV then I would have never auditioned for them to begin with. It's just that whenever I hear this piece it reminds me of that experience that I went through.

@tomorrowsmidnight I laugh really hard because we got a higher brass score than you that year. You probably cannot play musical therefore you were not a good addition to that brass line. P.S. Crown should have won 09.

@jsk8drummer uhhh yeah seriously, just cuz your music is entertaining does not make up for having fazing in the feet, dirty forms, and pictures not being together. being entertaining alone doesn't win you have to be clean as well, its not a hard concept to get.... the cleanest corps wins every time period
I attended all three performances during the 2009 DCI World Finals and this show was by far the most gripping and emotional. SCV always produces the most musically 'mature' shows year after year. They are often understated and not as flashy as some of the other corps, but I have always felt that they are the most effective at letting the music speak for itself. This particular show ranks as my all-time favorite. It's a shame they didn't place higher in 2009.
@Bootscv11 Look more closely. On 0:39, you can clearly see green in the feathers. And when the camera cuts to Stephanie conducting, you can see the green in her feather.
The words "amazing" and "epic" are being thrown around a lot these days by people under the age of 22 to describe DCI and WGI shows. Most of the shows over the past 8 or 9 years have been forgettable because no one is doing anything different or cutting-edge any more. There have been a few minor exceptions, but for the most part the past several years seems to be the DCI/WGI era of "blending in in order to achieve a higher score", and corps/guards no longer have their own identities any more.
Professor Feagin did an amazing job with this horline :) <3 I am so glad that he is our Brass instructor now (The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps)
