  • You are an inspiration! I love that it's about your work. It's not about the storage and having the "right" containers. I watched your "You are Special" video episode 7. Really amazing to see how you create your paintings. I lost count of how many different medias you used. Blown away that you use something as simple as a ball point pen!! So creative. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • What an amazing use of space! Makes a nice change after watching vids of artist's with enormous studios.

  • I love the fact that you use whatever you can get your hands on to store your supplies in. But the one thing I am SUPER CURIOUS about is -- how do you manage to do you work sitting down for so long?? My back would kill me after awhile! Also, I agree with you 100% on the "thinking" part; if you spend too much time thinking about what fancy art supplies you could get or think you need, you'll sabotage yourself!

  • very inspiring my friend, at first I thought I was just a procrastinator but as I watch your video I've come to realize that I'm just a thinker!!!! so form one artist to a nother thanks for bringing me back to reality : D hope to see more video soon and stay bless...

  • You're a very artist, your book is wonderful. Only the video's "overture" I think it was unnecessary.

  • This is very inspiring!!! Your creativity and ideas are obvious & vast!!! What an awesome lil studio!! Rock on! Don't stop sista!!! Ty for sharing!! {{ ! a true artist indeed ! }} ~peace~light~love~ *

  • This is the first video of yours that I have watched, and I loved it so much that I subscribed to your channel immediately. You explain things in a lovely way, and I love that you don't need a lot of fancy supplies to create beautiful art. I love that you use things that you already have on hand. I too use an old Pringles can. Mine holds long brushes. I use my old unusable brushes to stir and mix my paints. They work well for that. Best wishes for your success! Lovely videos!

  • love your accent!!!

  • It's not surprising that you work on the floor. I do the same thing when I'm drawing or painting. I have a desk, but I prefer the floor because it's more comfortable for me. The plastic is a good idea. You can reuse it by washing it etc unlike with newspaper.

  • thank you so much for the speech in the begining im in the same boat. im a 23 year old single father and im BROKE. but i love art and ill use whatever i can no matter the quality to make my art. i hate seeing these kids making supply videos with thousands of dollars in art stuff thats not even open. its like WTF do you only buy ALL this stuff just to make a damn youtube video?!?! it pisses me off so bad

  • @0ngoingpain Thankyou so much :) I am glad you enjoyed the video :)

  • you are so cute! Thanks for subscribing to me. Because of that I was able to discover your wonderful /helpful art videos :D

  • Excellent tour of your art area and reminding us that you don't need a large studio to CREATE art. While I have a nice studio space now, I began working on the floor with a lightweight tote board, a jar of water and a brush. That's how I still like to work- on the floor with the dogs supervising my work. Keep Creating your beautiful, energetic art!

  • What a beautiful young lady

  • I love your accent and your art ! :D

  • amazing! great ideas. use spirit alcohol to clean ur brushes.

  • I love this! Great video!

  • great video!

  • This is what art is all about!!! You, my friend, are a TRUE artist!! Its amazing!! I cant tell you how much you have inspired me!!! I was always so worried about getting the "right" materials and having the "right" place to do my art..... but you are sooo right!!! Art is created anytime, anywhere, with anything!!! Even the way you record your videos!! I LOVE IT!!! oh and I absolutely LOVE YOUR ACCENT too ^_^ !!! I can listen to you all day!!! lol OMG thank you soooo much for sharing.!!!

  • Awesome... where are you traveling thru and to next? I bet you can pack one rolling suitcase for your art studio.

  • @KathrineFarmer Thankyou so much :) I am in U.K currently and have no idea what next and when , as its always a surprise :) .... I wish I could have a rolling studio, but the weight limits in flights does not allow me to carry too much....

  • Great job! No more excuses for me not to create art. You are a wonderful inspiration, thanks for making this video :) ~Christina

  • Shilpa, you're so cute! I really enjoyed watching this, thank you.

It's amazing that you achieve so much from such a tiny space.

    Maisy xx

  • Shilpa007 Your the Best!!!!!! I loved watching this video!!! and you are 100% correct. You do not need a giant spot to work or have every single piece of art equipment!! I hope every artist starting out watches this vid!!! You are awesome in this vid your so honest and sharing! And your absolutely correct about thinking about what or how your going to paint etc, something..... Just do it!! It's great to be spontaneous!! Thanks for such a great vid!!!! Paul

  • Suzana commented :-

I love how you have shown people how having an 'art studio' doesn't require having lots of expensive equipment, a big space or a major home renovation. And thanks for the tip about using the Pringles container to lift the webcam - I haven't started making my own videos yet, but if I do, I'll know what to do.

  • I LOVE your accent :)

  • You are so cute OMG. Im sure everyone says that. Your studio is amazing because you create with bare minimals and are not stopped by endless trips to the art store. You are so positive and cute. Im obsessed with materials( not as bad as my sister though)I look at my colors more than do artwork.

  • @liverson2 Thanxz Liverson for such a lovely comment :) .....

  • very nice video. and i like the work i saw in this video. now i have to go look at your other videos!

  • Presentation is fair...but I felt it is little bit dragging...need few trials before starting...

  • Rita Maselli says :- what a great idea! u r an encouragement to those of us that don't have a studio of our own. This shows that you can paint basically anywhere. It's a mindset ... use whatever you have on hand and especially don't think about the limits because that paralyzes you ... Just do it as Nike says .... thanks for doing the video

  • Pam Perkins Zirbel says :- How stinken adorable!! I even picked out the 'mushroom container!!!!' That was too funny!! You are just cute!! And very creative, your pringles container and chocolate mini eggs!!! How inventive!!! What does your husband look like and what does he do for work! this was such a GREAT video!!!! Well done Shilpa!!!!!!! xoxoxo Pam

  • Barbara Youngman says :- So true Shilpa! Thank you for sharing your "Sacred Space" with us. Magic does happen in the simplest of places. You are a passionate artist!

  • Beth Wright Meador says :- I love having a peek into your world. You can definitely tell that you are an artist. I think we can all relate to all of the things we use in creating art. If others only knew. Thank you Shilpa for sharing with everyone.:) AND it's always nice to see YOU as well.:)

  • Michelle Wood says :- Shilpa - your art space video is brilliant - I love how you have used everyday objects to store you art supplies in (your web cam holder is the best!!) and your message to do art anywhere with whatever you have to hand is brilliant. I'm gonna go back and watch your other videos but you had me smiling - you produce fantastic art without loads of supplies - yeay you!!

  • Nicole Umina says :- Wonderful words Shilpa - you are so right. it is easy for us to become embroiled in the things we *think* we need to make art. I've been there, done that, obsessed over things i thought i needed before i could start on what i wanted to make - but in the end all i needed was paper a charcoal stick and gesso. We don't need half the things we think we do in order to create. I think it's wonderful that you carry your art space with you. It's inspiring to see.

  • this is wonderful. great way to show that you don't need lots of space or materials to enjoy the creative life! love it. :)

  • Thank you so much for sharing this! It really is the small things that matter. I find that I have so much stuff around me that I am not as creative as I used to be. I think it is time to do some down sizing and get back to just using what I have. A great message you have shared!!

  • Wow what if you had a whole room? LOL you are creating amazing stuff in that small space!

  • I love the way you recycle all the containers and maximize your space. You've shown that it's possible to do art no matter what!

  • Hey Shilpa, this is Andrew B.. your studio setup looks like you have alot of fun with your art.. for some reason this video reminds me of survival videos where people show their bug out bags :)

  • Thanks for sharing!! Great little set up!

  • great video shilpa, thanks for showing you dont need a big studio to create wonderfull art.

  • Loved your video, Shilpa. I always like watching you paint and now I know where you do it! Moving every 4 months must be hard- you never really unpack. Looking forward to more videos from the Pringles can......LOL
