  • Everything about this song should suck, but it's amazing!

  • I've been searching for a song I love as much as this one for months... Still can't find one....

  • I think this is the deepest, most complicated, and most beautifully written song ever. It is pure emotion put to the perfect words and beautiful music. One of the best songs ever written. I love it so much (especially cause I could relate to it not too long ago and still now even).

  • One of the best songs in this world. <3 It gives me chills, every time.

  • I showed this song to my 14 year old friend. She told me she loved it. I found out today that she died from Lung cancer, she was an amazing girl. This song will always have a place in my heart with her.

  • I just found out about this song. I walked home while the sun set and I played it over and over again. So beautiful

  • EWW i cant believe i liked this song.

  • Quite simply, one of the best songs ever. I would willingly give 5 years of my life to know that I had written this...

    SteveT

  • super love this song..thank you weezer for my song..

  • No, the beige album will be the crowning achievement. Recorded when they are all 75 years old and playing shuffleboard on a cruise ship...

  • Waiting for the purple album...

  • "I paint myself black and sit in the corner of my room and pretend I'm Akon."

Anyway, great song, I'm gonna go learn how to play this on the guitar right now. Honestly one of the best songs I've heard.

  • I love this song, I like listening to it when I have stuff on my mind.

  • beautiful

  • this song makes me sleep

  • this song is has the same affect on me as drinking. i want to text all my friends sad and stupid texts and hug every person i see, then fall into a deep sleep.

  • this album is truly the complete opposite of Blue. In Blue they were saying "only in dreams", and now they're saying "I am complete is what I'm saying"

  • @Xavygravy

    They dun grown up.

  • At 2:06... flash forward a few years he's singing that same line with B.o.B except this song is actually good music..

  • Love this song. Why can't more songs be like this? Why can't we all just be carrots sometimes?...

  • So amazing

  • This song is utter genius.

  • I didn't know Weezer still made good music.

  • @32fomood Since when did they stop making good music?

  • good song. いい曲だ!

  • This song is eargasmic, Im glad its not popular, save the better music for the intelligent folks like us that want to listen to it, and keep the haters away!

  • @swope04 haha i know exactly what you mean, although it would be nice if just a few more people knew of its greatness

  • So good.

  • Great Song, I love Weezer again!

  • i think ratitude was an album to show that the band releases varied material, from being serious, to power pop, to just corny pop songs

  • this song genuinely makes me cry. and i was listening to blue in 1994. Weezer never 'dropped off.' they evolved.

  • @dodeiale id rather see them do this kind of stuff then end up like linkin park

  • Probably the greatest Weezer song since Only in Dreams, yet... The top comments are... Irrelevant.

  • I must of replayed this at least 10 times, fucking amazing.

  • why are so many people obsessed with blue album? yes it had a few good songs like only in dreams and undone the sweater song, but it also had a few garbage songs like surf wax america and my name is jonas. I seriously dont understand everyones obsession with it.

  • This song is insanely beautiful.

  • My usual stance on Weezer albums is

Pinkerton, Blue, Maladroit, Green/Hurley, Red, Make Believe, Radditude

This song makes me so angry, because it's too awesome to be Third to last

I think I just like different =w= on different days. It's a mood thing.

  • I got the magic in me. I AM COMPLETE IS WAT IM SAAAAYIN

  • this is a beautiful song!

  • Sometimes when i'm bored I stand in the corner of my room and pretend i'm a carrot

  • @blindHamNchezz

    YOU TOO!?!?

  • @blindHamNchezz

I want to be your friend.

  • this is so pinkerton it's unreal

  • @RoryLyle See, that's why this song is so god damn great: it's unclassifiable as far as the Weez is concerned. It's indicative of a whole new Weezer beast that we have only gotten a taste of. If only Rivers and Co. could have replicated this ditty's DNA and made the whole Red Album like this, we could hear future songs and say "this is so Red Album it's unreal." THIS is what I think they were going for the whole album lyrically and thematically. Oh well, maybe Yellow Album will get it right.

  • Why can't weezer make good music anymore? This album sucked except for the greatest man who ever lived. when is there going to be another my name is jonas?

  • @Aarownd you can't really keep making music about being socially awkward when you've become as popular as Rivers and Weezer have become... and this song rocks wtf are you talking about??!

  • @Aarownd

If you want another My Name is Jonas write that + cover on youtube. This album is the only one that really is standing on the same level as Pinkerton but is slighly worse cause of few songs sang by the other bandmembers. Blue is a good number 3 but is still at about the same level as Green and Make Believe.

About this song. This is my favorite slow song by Weezer ever. Might be my favorite out of all songs and this is one of the reasons i think Red was a freaking awesome album.

  • @Babl069 If you think this album is better than blue, and is on the same level as pinkerton, than you seriously retarded, and have no taste in music.

  • @Aarownd More of an music taste then a Blue album fanboy such as yourself. Blue has great individual songs but as a whole ain't that great. In other words if you listen to the whole album intesively i get bored in some point. That's not the point with Pinkerton or with Red album. They had variaty that Blue lacked. If you can't accept that then go back to the closet listening Blue over and over again.

  • @Babl069 Red album is probably their second worst album, next to Hurley. And if YOU can't see that, then you can just listen to this shitty ass album, while I go surfing with Jonas, this album is as good as blue and pinkerton only in dreams.

  • @Aarownd Hope your iPod breaks down when it gets wet. Being a faggot music elitist got old 10 years ago so i recommend that you stop being one. Expecially it's sad to see elitists with a bad music taste.

  • @Babl069 So now you're wishing harm to my belongings? You know, I'd rather be a snob about good music, than be a satanist who hates the world.

You need to sort out your priorities sir.

  • @Aarownd I think you took a nasty hit on your head when you were surfing cause now you see satanists all over. Poor you. That actually might be the reason you can't tell good music from bad anymore. Well If you can't handle that music changes, even those bands you like evolve, then i must say you have no right to whine about music in general.

  • @Babl069 Whatever you moron, enjoy fucking "Raditude" you Hatian faggot!

  • @Aarownd

Lol i know you are american but still your lack of knowledge in geography is astounding. Fucking retard :D

  • @Babl069 Wow, someone's too stupid to get a cultural reference, someone needs to get back in school.

  • @Aarownd Calling somebody a Hatian faggot who lives in northen Europe is a cultural reference now? Well do explain it to me if you can.

  • @Babl069 In America, there's a group called "Mega64" they do videos and reference pop-CULTURE, and they discussed a video on their podcast where in the credits someone said "We Haitian" so they started using it in everyday situations, and calling someone a "Haitian Faggot" is a popular-culture reference, something someone from Europe would be too stupid to get.

  • @Aarownd Sounds like Mega64 has become even more unfunny since i last heard of it and i am pretty sure that you are just a lonely Haitian faggot yourself that thinks Mega64 is the shit.

  • @Babl069 Unfunny? Someone is obviously to stupid to get the subtlety of their humor, so now you're too stupid to even talk to, I'm right, you're wrong, DEAL WITH IT.

  • @Aarownd Or certain someone is too conseited that he can't see how big of an asshat he is making himself to be. Your theory has one major flaw. For you to be right i'd have to be wrong and that is not the case here. All i see is a guy with a mental state of an 10 year old kid that thinks Haitian faggot is a global cultural referance.

  • @Aarownd He's right, you do sound a bit of an asshat :/

  • @Aarownd

uhhhh have you listened to raditude?? its a piece of shit

  • @snaxlrod Raditude was fucking awful, but it at least knew it was shit, red album was trying to be serious. I can accept can't stop partying as a fun song, but listening to dreamin' makes me want to tear my hair out.

  • @Aarownd

    both albums are absolute garbage

  • @snaxlrod Raditude was a terrible Weezer album. But when iTunes is on shuffle, and that comes on, it's pretty fun. Still a terrible Weezer album though.

  • Weezer has become shit now. Why cant they keep making beautiful songs like this?

  • @DayNaruHinaVegeta now being when? an album later? this is one of their most recent albums. Moron.

  • @rechedelphar Enjoy listening to "A kid going to get a slurpee" dumbass

  • 2 people couldn't move on.

  • In my opinion the best song talking about feelings (that I guess) and maybe about love but not in a simple way :) My favourite of all rock ballads can I say that ^^

  • This makes moving on so much easier <3

  • Great drumming.

  • I LOVE WEEZER!!!!! THUMBS UP IF YOU DO TOO

  • peace shalom..

  • Perfection in a song... soo amazing

  • how can they fit so much emotion into such simple chords!? it's pure genius. this song is an otherworldly experience.

  • This is one of those songs that is hidden in the bands tracks and is never played live but is known as simply the 'best' ever. This is quite possibly the best song ever written but not executed live. It may be their final song they play when ready to end their career it would sure be worthy to be a final song.

  • this song and Heart Songs is the best song out of the Red Album, but dont get me wrong all of there songs are good

  • @JustHannah38 I think Heart Songs is one of the most terrible/embarrassing songs Weezer's ever made. Haha. But I see why one could like it.

  • great song! The whole red album reminds me of one of the best summers of my life.

  • so good.

  • speechless.. <3

  • its not my destiny..no

  • Some fantastic comments here, The Red Album is the closest Weezer will ever get to the Blue Album and Pinkerton without literally rewriting the music. Great stuff all around.

  • @HoundSyrup You were closer the first time:)

  • The best song ever written. Period.

  • @HoundSyrup Disagree. Only in Dreams.

  • @saiyajin11 Fail. Smells Like Teen Spirit.

  • @HoundSyrup No, I love Nirvana and all but that song isn't even close to Nirvana's best, let alone the best of all time.

  • @HoundSyrup how can that be the best song ever when there are so many greater songs before it which smells like teen spirit wouldn't exist without?

  • @111whitepony111 Smells Like Teen Spirit and NIrvana sucked and still do. Weezer perfected it.

  • @HoundSyrup lol

  • @111whitepony111 Owned.

  • Comment removed

  • @111whitepony111 Then you must be into some HORRIBLE music. Thinking that Nirvana is good is a mistake in the music world.

  • Comment removed

  • @111whitepony111 Here is the flaw with your ignorant comments about Weezer. Weezer has been given the credit with defining the Emo genre. Whether you like it or not, Weezer created a HUGE music influence. Nirvana may have changed the way things are done, but they sure never sounded good, and never will. I can agree that NIrvana changed music. Weezer does what they want. They make solid albums, whether you see it or not. Just because they dont sound like what YOU want, doesn't mean they are bad.

  • @HoundSyrup i never said it has to sound the way i want it to. their music became more and more bland, and no where near as creative or inspirational as the blue album. they became a band that sounds like a million other bands...when they were once a band all their own. they wrote the red album.....and rattitude.. those are simply unforgivable awful pieces of shit.

sounding like a huge hypocrite too saying that nirvana never sounded good. just because you don't like it.

  • @111whitepony111 Well, this argument could go on for ages and you still would have the narrowed minded brain that you have. So I will say good day to you sir, and I wish the best for you :) I wish I was the green power ranger.

  • @HoundSyrup it's so funny because whenever you ask somebody to actually prove their point on youtube.. they never can and basically insult. thing is... if you can't back anything you certainly can't insult.

peace weezer fanboy. try not being so close-minded.

  • @111whitepony111 You can't even spell and you're going to criticize a band's ability to /play/ music? One of the few commodities among today's generation?

  • @rls67 oh cool, yet another douche who complains about 1 letter being out of place. god forbid i don't spell check on youtube, you fucking idiot.

  • @111whitepony111 Oh, great, another critic who can't fucking use proper grammar. Stop trolling the shit out of Weezer, you asshole. My point is, if you can't even properly criticize a band, you shouldn't even bother.

  • @rls67 The ability to spell has little to do with the ability to play music, and the ability to play music has little to do with the ability to write good music, as Rivers Cuomo has so aptly demonstrated over the course of his career as an artist. Unlike finger-pointing troll feeders who are incapable of anything beyond a pathetic ad hominem response about grammar, there is a very solid consensus among real music critics regarding the steady decline of nearly everything that succeeded Pinkerton.

  • @T3hL337Sesshy You do realize I was defending Weezer, right? Why the fuck are you ranting?

  • @rls67 You do realize I was criticizing everything Weezer has released since Pinkerton, right? Are you really that thick?

"their music became more and more bland, and no where near as creative or inspirational as the blue album. they became a band that sounds like a million other bands...when they were once a band all their own. they wrote the red album.....and rattitude.. those are simply unforgivable awful pieces of shit."

He's absolutely right, and the vast majority of critics agree with him

  • @rls67 And you've nothing to say to that, it would seem. I expected as much.

  • @T3hL337Sesshy I rarely check that account, so I didn't get the notif. If you don't like anything that is coming from the Red Album, then get the fuck off of the page and quit your bitching. This song is visible proof that Weezer is not dead, that Rivers Cuomo can still write amazing music, and despite what critics say, many people seem to agree with that. Pinkerton and the Blue Album are great, yes. But this is too. Jesus, I'm tired of going on every Weezer video and seeing people like you.

  • this could be the sequel to only in dreams. i swear!!

  • Wow, I can't believe I didn't give The Red Album a chance. It kind of reminds me of "Only in Dreams", how the last song just totally ends the album peacefully.

  • Sorry Amarant that you don't really like the boys...songs like Buddy Holly and In the Garage are songs that many of us can relate to (including us old guys)...Just raw talent in action...very nice....Hey Jacki, sounds like you're a Triumph fan as well...lol...too cool...

  • I have never really gotten into Weezer's other songs. I'm one of those teens who completely skipped over them.

But this is probably my favorite song. In general.

  • best song on red no doubt

  • 2:06 "I got the magic in me"

  • @Jackimole Hahaha

Took me a white to get that one...

  • @Jackimole FORESHADOWING

  • my cats breath smells like cat food

  • @jlepitzki dude thats so random

  • I dont understand how sombody could have pressed dislike..

  • my favorite song of all time so emotional

  • how come people never talk about this song its the best song on the red album

    Really?

Let's spread the word about this song. It deserves much more.

  • a rare gem on a pretty terrible album

  • Me and my dad were listening to the Red album and made me promise him that I would play this for him at his funeral. This is a promise i will never forget

  • @russianfantastico Funerals are (or are intended to be) a celebration of the person's life. This song is about life, therefore, it works.

  • @russianfantastico Dude shut up, just enjoy the song and get the stick out of your ass.

  • iPod worthy

  • this is the anthem of sir rivers cuomo.

  • One of the most touchings songs ever written

  • Favorite song of all time.

  • this song is just amazing. the build up is perfect plus the extended ending keeps u listening for more. bravo weezer

  • is the picture moving closer?????

  • @ModestDanny ya

  • @ModestDanny ya haha

  • @perfectlygiven Shalom is hebrew for God's peace. He's saying even though he sort of wants to be with the girl, he's telling her he's already complete in his Shalom.

  • I'll take you there my friend, I'm reaching out my hand so take it..... <3

  • Weezer is just all around amazing. I mean, they've had there bad spots (Make Believe, and, let's face it, this album wasn't great either) but they make great music no matter what. (:

  • @mysshadow Really? The Red Album is one of my favourite albums of all time, I think it's their best creatively and linguistically.

  • @televisewhatyouwant It was extremely creative. I just didn't think it worked that much. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved some songs. Dreamin', The Greatest Man That Ever Lived, and The Angel and the One are some of my favorite Weezer songs of all time. But I just don't think they'll ever make anything that compares to The Blue Album and Pinkerton.

  • @mysshadow i loved alot of the songs off of make believe. haunt you everyday was the saddest song iv ever heard. but i mean at least it doesnt have lil wayne in the album. i find it hard to dislike any weezer album(pre raditude) now.

  • @hsefootball36 I agree. Make Believe had great songs. But, in my opinion, for every song I liked, there was one I hated. And yeah, Lil Wayne was a pretty terrible decision. Maybe they'll make it right with there next album. It's due out September 13th this year. Which blows my mind cuz it hasn't even been a year since Raditude

  • :,) I love this song.

  • this song goes right thru ya for sure... love it

  • te amo tortuga...

    siempre juntos

    Leo.. waaaa ! ! !

  • this song holds lots of memories..

  • im in love with this song

  • One of their best songs ever :)

  • questa canzone mi da una tristezza incredibile perchè mi ricorda il male che ho fatto all'unica persona che non avrei mai voluto ferire in tutta la mia vita..

  • I love this song :) It can be interpreted as being a bit too spiritual for my taste, but it's a great song nonetheless. The slow beginning reminds me of "A Slow Parade" by A.A. Bondy.

  • Anyone who's ever gone separate ways with someone they care about can identify with this song...

  • @worldemperor85 nah, it's not about "relating". that's a worn puerility. it's just about feeling the feelings. new experiences add shades and layers to the feeling.

  • @worldemperor85 oh, you're only 14. sorry. i remember when i'd say that kind of things to seem older ;)

  • @krane33 wasnt exactly my intention, but yes, i was feeling kinda emo at the time. emos tend to say stuff like 'wat is life but a road to death?' and stuff...

  • that s a good one

  • this song is so amazing this song proves rivers knows The Secret :)

  • wen i cry to this song and look at my tears it speels ur name :(
