Looks like a toy to me. The only reason I would be interested in this is if I wanted to be able to go and mix right in front of people, but I don't. The closest I would get to this would be setting up a Guitar Hero controller to control Traktor or AudioMulch and then rocking out in the audience.
That would be because it was Henley stand at the BPM Show, who distribute Ecler mixers and Ortofon carts. They're somewhat essential to demo such gear. The nextbeat was simply plugged into the main system on the stand.
I agree with most people/ comments here thou having the headphone socket ONLY on the basestation and also not being able to select tracks form the handheld unit seriously were bad moves and take away the whole "mobility during a gig"-concept in my opinion!!
Being able to move around while mixing is a pretty cool idea, but this is pretty dodgey, I think it'd be really hard to use. And I'd say it'd be pretty hard to mix walking about, CONSIDERING THE HEADPHONE SOCKET IS ON THE F'ING BASE STATION, NOT THE REMOVABLE PART. Caps lock off, that is all.

If the Nextbeat is supposed to be an "All In One"-Unit, why the need for 2x 1210s, 2x CDJ 1000mk3s and the Ecler Evo 4 at the stand???
