20 years ago last week was my first ever trip to a beach anywhere. College spring break. I have been going back ever since and my wife and I were married there 14 years ago. My son started coming when he was 6 months old and my daughter when just 18 months. It is the best, most family friendly, beach I've been to, and I've been to a lot since that first experience 20 years ago. I just keep coming 'home'. Love it!
we rent out houses in Gulf Shores and we like it so much that we are going to move there. The place we are going to live in is at destin-retreat How are the schools there?
I just wish the city had only allowed condos to be built ACROSS THE STREET from the beach. I don't think it's right for the greedy developers to block the beautiful view of the beautiful beach and sand dunes. That is the ONLY thing New Jersey has done right is not allowing building right on the beach in the southern part of Jersey (Wildwood, Ocean City, and Atlantic City). They have miles of boardwalk with shops and restaurants and sitting areas for everyone to enjoy being able to enjoy.
Everyone becareful the toxic chemicals rise to the surface of the water in the gulf evaporate into the air and carried with wind rain and dumped on land. Becareful about eating your fruits and veggies cuz DOLE cuts OFF the celery leaves on the stalks that are burnt! I live in IL and my plants, trees, flowers have burnt black leaves, black burnt holes, white corrosion some leaves on the trees have fallen off already it looks like fall here
@MHADfromUT I 'm headed to Fort Morgan AL for work (oil spill recovery) July 19th. How close is this to Gulf Shores? There wasn't much info available when I googled it.
@mickeyl01 Fort Morgan is not a city, it's part of Gulf Shores. The fort itself is down a long a road, and the beach part of Fort Morgan is a good bit down it.
In our sick and twisted world, money talks, bullshit walks.
President Obama knows it, he's the benefactor of BP's hush-money.
Just like Obama's bogus Global Warming/Climate Change Tax Initiative, its a complete profiteering racket for the Elite and has nothing to do with "Saving the Environment."
The Global Elite could give a fuck about the Environment.
It's all about lining the golden pockets of evil multinational corporations & Wall Street criminals who control the world through greed & power.
GS is a great place, beaches like Florida but lots closer to Houston than Destin. I just pray the oil stays away, and hurricanes too! They go hit 3 years in a row a few years afo.
So, i m looking at pictures and videos of things to do here and it seems to be geared to old people and families. Me and my friends are coming done here from saint louis for a week. We all just turned 21 so were looking for more stuff to do for people around our age. We already booked the hotel and everything. Does gulf shores have alot of young people that go there too. Can you at least drink on the beach?
Leaving in 3 days to head down there... can't fkin wait!! I have a condo down there right on the beach. I try to go once a year atleast, always have a ton of fun
I am presently staying in Perdido Key, FL for the winter. For Spring break, I would look into Gulf Shores, AL. Looks as good as anything along here including Panama City Beach, and I think the rates are not as high as Florida's.
lolz i love fishing in gulf shores and ill b goin tomorrow hopefully and btw crystal ;) gulf shores is like 1 fken mile from orange beach so their aint any difference =P lolz
omg...im 14 an we go their every year to......were leavin in 2 weeks. We usally stay at the Pheonix. Your right, it never gets old an waterville is awsome....although a new coaster wouldnt hurt.

@IIikeFoodnDrink
It would be too crowded.
It would be hot as hell 365 days a year.
Ok, now that would be awesome.
If it didn't we would all be really stupid.
It would be nice.
Pandamybaby 8 months ago
Why can't we all live here?
Why can't summer last forever?
Why can't the world just be a giant beach paradise?
Why must school be invented?
Why can't we all enjoy this paradise?
WHYYYY????
