vintage you are probably right. The timing of this film is very interesting too. I seriously doubt we will ever see the movie about the exodus from Nauvoo, Haun's Mill, or the Mormon Extermination Order signed by that Christian Gov. Boggs of Missouri!
You are absolutely right. More Mormons (by far) died as a result of the abuse of the Federal Government and so-called Christians than ever died during the events of the Mountain Meadows Massacre September 11th 1857. Far more (hundreds of thousands) of Native Americans (men, women and children) have been massacred by the U.S. Federal Government during the 1800's than during the obscure event of Mountain Meadows.
People didn't focus on it because the media doesn't focus on the fringe Wacko Christian element. Now that we have a prominent LDS member up for president and could very well win, it's now okay to go for interesting early American religious history. They should do one about how the Mormons were driven out of state after state even after barn burning deadly massacres by so called Christians.
