This spirit was probably a brandy blended with rosemary, and had its use in medicine, as both the king and the queen suffered from arthritis."
@xinion itdor answer - many nations from carpathian region of Europe can claim this type of strong drink becouse this palinka it has the origin in the immemorial times.
I was in this cellar and I tastet the best palinka ever...I recommend it to you it's really nice
