very good video , i'm planning to get a mini projector to play video game in HD. i'm debating between this one and the Ben Q gp2, any suggestions will be appreciated.
@zoeboii321 Ya that is definatly something im wondering how it works. Cant find much online. Do u need glasses? if so which kind? probably says in the manual or something
How far away from the wall was the projector in this video? Whats the ratio from wall to image size? Like do you need to be a certain distance away from the wall to adjust the picture size or does the qumi have a special setting to adjust manually? Thanks a ton for relying if you could reply.
@starlightgrey sorry for the late reply the projector id say its about 8-9 feet from the wall that it is projected on and yes the bigger you want it the further away you must place the qumi there is a zoom on the qumi but not much id say you get like 6 inches all around of zooming in and out, but mainly you have to physically move the qumi to get the desired projection size.
@Dey7ufc7 Personally I havent tried the 3d but Ive read on the forums that they have succeded in using 3d with theyre PC with some drivers some even got it to work with the ps3 but lots of extra gadgetry just to get it to work on the Ps3 for now im good with just regular watching on 2d.
Great review, are you having any issues with it? On the AVS forum the AV nerds are in a rage because of color/focus/etc. I for one think they are being over critical.
I'm going to run three of these together for 3 projector PC gaming. Each screen is going to be 40". At that size what do you think about the image?
Hey, thanks for the review. One quick question. Where did you get the female 3RCA to 3.5mm cable? I know you said Amazon and eBay but i can't find it anywhere. What would I search for?
hi, mate.....the vedio specfication is really nice.......may i know how long you buy this product and how its working now....and how you feel the durability of the LED......thank you
@sebingsam Ive had the qumi since july 7 it still works like brand new, and everytime im in aww!!. LED was my #1 option the Led Bulb will basically outlast the unit, unlike regular bulb projector which are good for 2000 - 3000 hours and cost around $100-200 bucks each time you buy it. The qumi's bulb is design to be good for 30,000+ hours and not degregate as it gets used, meaning it doesnt loose quality or lumen output as it gets old. For me it was a no brainer.
@ISAACMART1984 I take it that the video was taken at the maximum power/noise of the qumi. How loud/quiet is it on the eco setting, possibly post a short film.

hello isaacmart, i'm thinking about buying this projector but i am having doubts.. i recently bought a pk-301 projector and when i project higher than a maybe 30" the brightness starts to lose itself, not only that up close the pixels are very big. When i play video games, the image does not look very good. My question to you is during an 80 inch viewing size how big are the pixels? Does this projector replace a hd tv with better quality and brightness or at least match it?
2 @MrTube900 as for it replacing an HDTV its defenately up to par with the quality/resolution but for brightness like you said the farther back you go the dimmer it gets. at 95" for me its perfect for movies, gaming, as long as the room is dark. but I would say at 60" it would problbly give a 720p HDTV a run for its money. and 500$ for a 60" portable tv/projector that you can move anywhere you want without asking friends for help its worth it in my opinion. hope this helps.
1 @MrTube900 well if you do get it it will be a drastic improvement not only in brightness but in resolution (pk301-qumi). (50lumen-300lumen), (854 x 480 - 720p HD/WXGA 1280x800). as you can see @ 4:18 in the video i zoom in and i see no pixels and thats at 95" that I have mine set up, that is of course on HD viewing, now with standard defenition viewing not HD, you do tend to see it less clear, but if your playing ex, PS3 or Xbox you should be fine those are both HD gaming systems.
hi i see that you have your projector sitting on the stand so my ? is can you please tell me where can i find a stand like the one you're using because i got the same projector that u got and i wonder if u can help me out, by the way thanks for the video.
@MyMix11 the tripod I have, I originally got for my lumix hd camera/camcorder but works perfect for the qumi, and was not to expensive, sucks you tube doesnt let you post links but anyway go to amazon's website and in there searchbar paste the following, its the exact same one i got i think for like $20 not including shipping
copy and paste it to amazon

Thanks for the informative review. I just bought the Microvision ShowFX laser pico projector for $99. The Microvision is unique in that it uses lasers and no lenses, so there is never any focusing. The thing is smaller than a calculator and can run for about 90 mins on battery. But this Qumi seems to have a much brighter and vivid image so I'll give it try.
sweet video, amazing you can zoom in that much and not see any dots. I'm ordering mine right now from best buy. Do you think i should buy the best buy extended warranty, best buy is pretty good with their warranties. Was the sound from the projector or your own system? I'm thinking that has to be your own system
@elldog00 definitely get the warranty I bought mine from amazon and I got the square trade kid drops and spill warranty so im covered im not risking this bad boy especially with my kids, The sound was from my bose companion II, which my pc originally had but oh well!! lol... the 1w speaker was not enough espicially if your playing a movie through micro sd or usb barelly noticible, on dvd and blue ray at least you can hear it but i need my bass and the 1w has no bass at all, hope this helps.
@ISAACMART1984 I got it with the warranty. I love the projector, looks awesome and super portable. Have you figured out what type of movie files the projector can read off of usb memory stick or mini sd card
@elldog00 I just figured that one out recently i downloaded a few movies some would play others wouldn I was like WTF! but in the forum theres this software called handbrake which is free this will convert the videos to the proper video file type which is i beleave H.264 which is also known as MP4.I just open the file choose the format, which i just choose "normal" then it converts it to MP4 u put it in your flash and it should play. I cant post the link but i downloaded from CNET.com
to expensive at 500$ the price will drop seen them at 430-but probably get it back in S&H.many more led pjs comin out with this res chip the end of the year they will be cuting each others throats for a sale.the qumi has some issues-go to avs forums and check the qumi thread
@guenat1 The price will def drop especially when the new 500 lumen projectors come later this year I just wanted something now, besides I was planning on selling this one when the 500 lumen come out then get me one will see how it goes, ive been checking that forum since january ive read some of the comments on the qumi but for me i must of been one of the lucky ones, the only thing is the focus in which you need to wait 15 minutes, or just focus it when you turn it on then refocus after 15 mnt
i too am looking for a led-projector like this1 for watching movies! at night, or even in the day since 1 of my rooms is always pitch dark. but was unsure if the 300 lumens was plenty or if i need sumthing w more than that. also i plan on hooking it up to my ps3, will that work? thanxs, great video by the way!
that is sooo awesome! This video totally sold me. I was debating getting one but I know I want one now. Great choice for the video, Bugs look so creepy. lol Thank you for the review.
what settings are you using?

@harahoniko yes ive the qumi on a photo tripod which was for my lumix camera, which works great for the qumi.
ISAACMART1984 1 week ago
Cool! Qumi placed on photo tripod right? its is very important for me. Can it be placed on tripod?
harahoniko 1 week ago
So it can only go up to 95"???? So if you want to get a nice screen. You have to buy a 95" screen???
