Even if we believe that 1.4bill Muslims believe in Ahlul Bayt (which I think is nonsensical based on my Muslims friends - most Sunnis do not believe in "following" Ahlul Bayt), that leaves 4.6bill population who do not even believe in one God as Muslims do. Allah want us to deliver a belief set that is the like the original watch, the prophet saw within his 23 years walk as the last messenger.

Allah will not accept the gold plated versions of Islam that did not constitute the real experience of the prophet as the last messenger.

It is important to define arguments with respect to the 23 years, because it always keeps you within the borders. It reminds you what it is & what it is not, with respect to time. It reminds you to accept the constraint of time destined by Allah for the mission to conclude. It reminds you to rule out everything outside the 23 year border as not the true Islam.

As an example, imagine AL-ISLAM to be the FULL GLASS of MILK, the prophet as the last messenger of Allah saw it & left it before taking his last breath.

YES WE CAN, because Allah alone has the right.

There is no reasoning, evolved scenarios, human being, who has the God given right to even add Hershey chocolate to the original glass of milk the prophet saw.

It is a logical approach to rule out what does not constitute the articles of faith & why, before even going into details.

Any reasoning that asserts something to be an article of faith responsible for success or failure in the eyes of Allah is deviation, if Allah did not explicitly commanded, like He explicitly commmanded other other articles of faith in Quran.

I'm not that learned in all the historical details about Shii's, I concider myself a Sunni, but first and foremost a Muslim and I look at Shii's as Muslims too.
