@GibsonRay6 Dude I am 5'6 myself and I own a 2000 Yamaha R6 sitting at stock seat height which is 32.28 inches and I have no problems. Just tipped toed at stop lights and what have ya, but just keep a foot on a peg and just lean it a little on your other foot. (so than your downed foot is flat on the macadam) hope this helps you man.
@yzlover87 your bike is too tall for you. the reason being with the slight lean to allow your one of your feet to lay flat on the ground, all of your weight is resting on one foot. If there is an oil slick from somebody parked at a stop light, or a small patch of gravel - your foot is going to slide right out and you won't save it from the drop.
Nobody's saying don't ride it - I would suggest lowering it before adopting a risky technique to muscle memory.
hey man! my bro has the same exact bike. do you think it's normal if the speedo shows a number when the bike is in neutral and i rev it? though you have to know that the bike wasn't turned on for a month at all before it happened to us. thanks!
yes thats right but you should also know that the battery is probably dead because the bike doesn't wanna turn on we can only jump start it and when we do the headlight, taillights and speedo light flickers as we it didn't get enough voltage so the speedo issue may be related to that. and also when we ride it for longer then everything is normal it doesn;t do it anymore........but still the battery doesn't wanna recharge even after a long ride. thx
hahaha, my bad man, im waaayyy heavier than you then.
anyhow, do you have a video converter? you can download one online. this should fix your change in format problems. just open your original video and change to another format and upload(new) it again on Youtube.
That wasn't my question; I want to know if someone who is 5'9" can handle an R6 with relative ease. I practically grew up on motorcycles (both on and off road), and my family owns quite a few bikes. I want to upgrade to a bigger bike by next year and an R6 is my first choice. Thanks for trying anyway...
I'm 5'6" and the R6 is perfect fit for me. I own an 01 R6 and it has the power...but what bike doesn't? I'm assuming you're on a 250 correct? That was my first sport bike too...it's a huge difference..but in a good way. All those times you wished the bike had enough power to over take those cars going up the mountain too slow...
Just keep it safe and responsible and you should end up having a lot of fun.
You know how many people started on 600's, 750's, 900's, 1000's? Lots. If you've ridden any kind of bike a time or two, and are familar with the basic controls, hop on a 600. Seriously, they aren't bad. Just know what it is capable of, and take it easy. That's what I did. Hell, even if you've never been on a bike, if you can drive a standard car, you'll be able to figure out a bike. Granted you'll prob lay it down, but everyone does eventually.
definetly i agree.. I had ridden couple times before bought the 02 r6 on the video.. and i taped this video in first week after i bought.. if you can be patient enough to improve yourself step by step, starting with one of those bikes would be ok....
Same deal with me, only got on an 02 F4i. As long as you can actually restrain yourself, you'll be fine. However, the only people that really understand this, are sportbike riders. Everyone else thinks a 600 is too big, and non-riders try and tell them it is. But yeah, anyone with common sense should be fine. Cheers though, to someone else who gets it!
m3 vs r6 = no chance. power to weight = bike always win. I even raced a 600hp dodge srt 8 on my r6.. @ hit 200 in under 10 seconds and let off because he was too far behind. waste of time .imho.

i dont think so, I have never noticed smth like that. You should have your speedo checked. nothing to do with not turning on your bike.

@arslansay 01-03 r6s have that issue, not sure why, loose sensor probably
audiocable 1 year ago
@Devoted2TRANCE check your battery cables. negative could be off.... or it could be you'r bike giving you maint. codes.

You'll be fine on a R6 dude. Don't buy a 250. You'll want more after the first few months. I'm 5'10 and I'm good.
