Captain N was poorly written, poorly executed, and is quite forgetable these days. And it was an example one of the few shows I knew from the late 80s and the early 90s that didn't really stand out much.

People talk about these characters like they're sacred works of art and historical graphic design, they're dumb characters in an awesome game who aren't supposed to br analyzed or even thought about for more than the 3 minutes it takes to kill them. There are far worse things happening in the world that could make for a more entertaining and more meaningful rant.

However, don't assume that I'm taking this at all seriously.

i have to admit, when i was a kid in the early 90's playing "mega man" and watching "captain N," i kind of liked seeing the robot masters look different from how they do in the game. it kind of built my imagination and served as a fun guessing game for me. but that's only my opinion.

That...doesn't really make much sense, sorry to say. There's nothing about the original Robot Masters that could be considered too scary to portray faithfully. On top of that, the Ruby/Spears cartoon was faithful to the original Robot Master designs and I wouldn't call any of them "scary". If anything, they actually made Cut Man, who was originally pretty cute, more nightmare-inducing. :P
