@whatthe420788 Will you stop embarrassing yourself? It's bad enough that you can't handle losing an argument. Now you're stalking me on other videos. Get a life.
@whatthe420788 I guess it's easy to get bored when you're the only side who's still talking. I finished verbally pantsing you because there's no more sport in it.
I guarantee you that the amount of people who will actually watch episodes of this version of Concentration will not be enough for NBC to justify releasing the rights. I'd like to see them myself but for fuck's sake, be realistic!
@Gottagetmesomeodat How is that in any way relevant to this? What responsibility does NBC have to anyone to release these episodes? Huh? I find it just a little stupid that you're trying to draw a comparison between responsibility to a living thing and a television network exercising its rights regarding a piece of property it owns.
It is quite a coincidence (or not) that this is the opening to the only full episode that has been seen since the original and is on youtube in awful quality, but its something. There are a few clips of some more episodes as well.
Noveltooner may be interested to know that one of the artists on the 70's Concentration was Robert Owen, who previously painted backgrounds for Noveltoons and other projects at Famous Studios.
I never knew that! It's funny that you should mention that; I always thought at the time that many of the human and animal characters that appeared on the boards bore a resemblance in style to Noveltoon/Harveytoon characters. Thanks!
What riled me about this Mark Goodson special is that it leaves the glaringly mistaken impression that Goodson created Concentration - highly egotistical, to say the least - and, typical of NY-created shows that moved to LA, their previous existence is denied. Concentration was created by Buddy Piper, Robert Noah, Jack Barry and a host of other Barry & Enright staffers. After the quiz show scandals, NBC bought and produced the show under Norm Blumenthal; they still own the rights.
Actually, it's a little more involved than that. NBC actually owns the rights OUTRIGHT to "Concentration". They had G-T produce it for them -- making it the ONLY game show G-T produced that they did NOT own. But I STILL don't understand the reluctance to allow the reruns of the Narz and Trebek series to be shown (Both of those exist in their entirety.)
I know, I was just making the point that I had the privledge to be old enough to see a lot of these great shows the first time around !!! I would love to see more clips right here on the 'ol you tube.
I don't think it was ever believed that Narz's Concentration was destroyed...given that it was a syndie show, it wouldn't have been @ the mercy of the networks.
It's from 1966; I have the episode. Incidentally, part of the black-and-white videotape made for the West Coast airing does exist (the rest has pretty much disintegrated.) I also understand that black-and-white 16mm film transfers (color from 1970-73) of virtually all of the NBC Concentration shows do exist and were stored in Fort Lee, New Jersey until 20 years ago. They were made for legal archive purposes since Concentration is an NBC property.
I didn't need proof that Concentration (syndicated) with Jack Narz existed.. I'm old enough to remember watching it !!! My hazy memory was that it aired at 1 p.m. where I lived (Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville market) and my mom always wanted me to go outside in the sunshine while I wanted to stay in and watch this and the hefty number of other game shows which were part of the daytime lineup back them..
@whatthe420788 And for the record, removing your comments does not mean I won't see them.

@whatthe420788 Oh, give me a break. If you don't like being called out for your own idiocy, learn about restraint.

@whatthe420788 No, I said "when there's legitimate bases for them." That's pretty clear, isn't it?
Looks like you didn't like getting told, and neither did gottagetmesomeodat.

@Gottagetmesomeodat And I'm entitled to call you an idiot for carrying an asinine opinion for selfish reasons. BTW, you are a naive idiot.

@whatthe420788 I'll be respectful of other people's opinions when there's legitimate bases for them.

@beentheredonetht Which is their right, considering they own it.
I tell you what, when you own a television network, you do whatever you please.

The 1970's Version Of Concentration With Jack Narz I Think Lynn Wiley Used To Watch The 1970's Version Of Concentration From 1973-1978.

There was never any doubt that the G-T syndicated Concentration existed, its the Clayton late 60's-early 70's that have question marks on em.

Yes, I think it's from either '63 or '67. And no, the open is not cut off (if you don't count the 'N' in NBC).

Speaking of which, I have a Downs episode from a video purchase. I feel like it's worth posting, considering there's not much footage of him here.

Forget about your 'friend'; I found out by now all that stuff about the friend-and-the-vaults is false.
I sure hope either:
a) NBC comes to their senses (like they did all those other times),
b) More O.B.s show up for trade.
I find B more likely.

We can clearly tell this is the studio copy: it's in SO much better quality!
And what about that other episode I told you to tell your friend to dig up?
Hondo20132 3 years ago 6
Excellent find!
Now only if NBC would let its vice grip loose on it...
