Danish air force. Located in Aalborg , and Karup Airport. 6 planes were deployed to libya mission . esk 626 e. F.16 from 1980 A,B C. Most of the pilots lives in Vadum , beside military Airport.

@140555jan It can´t fly mach 2.3. Max mach 2 with two wing tip missilles. I guess they very seldom fly mach 2. After all...it is a small jet and with thirsty afterburners doing mach 2. it´s only a matter of minutes before it has to refuel. Speed nowadays is not as important anymore. Range, weapons and hightech avionics are much more important.

Although it's my own amateur opinion i think it is still gonna kick ass for 5-6 more years

@topilopi123 Of course we are proud of our jets! Yes..they are 40 years old. Who cares? We have updated them so many times. They are state of the art! Not as advanced as other jets of course, but they did a really good job and it all comes down to the one who flies them. We only have about 30. Yes Denmark is small. And we have en tight budget. But we manage to use it the best way. I guess we will keep the good old F-16 for another 5-6 years. No problem.

Actually Denmark is self-sufficient with oil and gas. Furthermore the invention to protect civilians from Muammar Gaddafi repressive rule, was made with an UN mandate with full support from the Arab League.
