How to Root the Droid X/2, Droid Bionic, Droid 2/3, Pro, and Cliq (2.3.3-2.3.4)

I've read this in a thousand places. What I wanna know is why the motorolaoneclick.exe file can't find my phone, it just sits eternally at the spot where its searching for it. It appears I'm the ony effing one having this issue i've searched everywhere.

I'm running a Droid X on 2.3.4, and this doesn't work at all for some reason.

I follow all the instructions exactly, run the program, and it finishes with no issues. However, when I go into my apps afterwards, there's no Superuser anywhere. I try using other root apps, and none of them work because they all say the phones not rooted.

I'm completely clueless. Help?

when the phone starts the first step, the rebooting, it comes to a window that is black with white lettering, it says Bootloader D0.11, Battery OK, OK to progra, Transfer mode:usb. what is going on here?!

Never mind, guess cause its late, I violated the first rule of troubleshooting (after 10 yrs of tech support I cant believe I didnt try it sooner lol) that is..try turning it off and back on again ;)

just tried this, it works, it did root the phone (Droid X2, 2.3.4) but now I have NO data connection to the Verizon Network, not sure what happened, no errors came up or anything, it all went smoothly but there is no 3g data connectivity at all..which is a bit of a problem

thanks for the video but i need some help unrooting now, you see i uninstalled system apps, but now i want to unroot and restore them

I've downloaded the system apps "apk's" from the link the program gave me,

and now its saying it'll need "a copy of the original /system/app folder unpacked in /restore/ (on your computer)" im not sure what exactly to do, I unpacked the zip file, created a folder named "system" and made another folder within it called "restore" and put the files in it

HI, if I used these instructions to root the Droid X 2.3.3 would you tell me how i now UNROOT the phone. I did not delete ANY apps, I only rooted it to use for tethering, which i can now no longer do, and would like to unroot.

Hoping i don't have to SBF since i never deleted anything (and I don't know how to do it)

I have a droid x with 2.3.3. I have followed all the steps and everything went fine. I have the super user icon on my phone, but I don't think it's actually been rooted because I can't run the tethering app and it complaints the phone isn't rooted.

I just tried this on my moto cliq 2 and it rebooted twice like you said it would, but after it finished going though all the processes, there was no superuser access or anything. Any ideas?

@XDRxMoDzX Droid 2.. I fixed it though. Every time it got stuck on bootloader, I unplugged it, rebooted it normally by holding in the power button, and then I just plugged it back in and it worked perfectly.
