@lamonumental The series is high quality, but came under heavy fire because the episodes are very short, and it took way too long for them to come out (a couple months at a time). The reason being that SNK was doing it themselves rather than work with an animation studio like Capcom does with Devil May Cry. Soon, it became too expensive with MI being discontinued to focus on the main series, so this anime was left as a mini-series.

This anime occurs after Ash got Iori's powers right? Proof is in episode 1 where Iori didn't have his flames and looks for Ash. During that time, K' and the nest remnants are already cooperating with the Ikari warriors. So whats happening now?

BTW, let me fill in the story. K' and Maxima are ex-agents of NESTS. K' was injected with kyo's dna changing his appearance. The two girls at the end were Kula & Whip. Kula is the Anti-K' would saved Southtown during KOF2000. Whip is K' sister who was previously on the Ikari team during KOF99 & 2000.
