@greggharriman81 I had a white staffy given to me when it was 9wks old, that was nearly 3yrs ago and I can say with all honesty that, it's the best & most loving dog that I have ever had, I have had quite a few different breeds of dogs over the decades. They are one of the best family dogs and are fantastic with children. If you have children get one from a puppy, if there's no children then a rehome staffy my be a good option.
Staffs by nature are very freindly towards people and serve to please these dogs will do anything to gain affection from their owners and this is what can be abused by bad owners who want an aggressive dog towards people. While their is always a chance to have a bad dog in any breed its very rare in Staffords but dont take us fans opinion for it ask your local vets who should have an unbiased opinion as they tend to be a fav breed with them because of ease to tread because of their nature

But doesn't get on to well with larger breeds, especially males. Maybe because he was the alpha male of his litter and wont be dominated. Or maybe because he senses danger from them i dont know.

All I can say is that your dogs are beatifull. Thank you for taking the time to speak up for Staffies. I have got 2 and I would never have any other breed now. They are so loving and just want to please you and love them back. They are soft dogs if treated with love and respect. Don't blame the breed.
Personally, one of the best breeds that you could have in a family home. Very loving and loyal and sadly have such a stigma with them unfortunately because of how some humans treat them and raise them and now rescue centres are full of this breed more than any other... it will get to the point where they have to be banned like pit bulls are. Makes me very sad. They're beautiful animals, and your staffs are stunning and look very well looked after and happy!! (: beautiful video!

ive got two staffs :] they are the best, i remember when they had 11 little puppies together, idk if ive ever seen anything cuter than a pile of little meatballs. My males head is huge and he loves to use it to his advantage and super snuggle with it
i love my staffie, and you can tell who has owned one and who hasn't as other staffie owners will come over and have a chat and a stroke, people who have never owned one tend to cross the road or give a wide birth as all they know is what they read in the papers.its really sad as they dont know what there missing out on :)
Walking my staffy off lead in the local park, I witnessed three jack russells, a border collie and a lasza apso all displaying dominant aggressive behaviour toward other dogs with their owners struggling to control them. I usually hear them say "be nice" or "behave!" in a slightly panicky voice.
Now, if my staffie behaved like this in public (he's 11 and has always been very sociable) there would be a mass outcry of "those dogs should be banned/put down" *sigh*....
I love staffs, my dog is half staff half lab. These dogs wouldn't hurt a fly if they are brought up properly, don't hate the breed, hate the owner. It doesn't matter if it's a labrador, poodle, chihuahua, staff, golden retriever,terrier, dalmatian or rottweiler. The thing that matter is the owner should be responsible enough to socialize their dog and bring it up properly, otherwise any dog no matter what breed could bite and has the power to do so.

I have never got attacked by a staffy and they are the most amazing dog breed i have ever owned.
I have only been bitten by dogs about 10-12 times, thats 2 times by German Shepard, 1 time by Jack Russel and 4 times by Poodles the rest by other small dogs like the one shown at 2:52

Just rescued one today from the pound, I am excited to have her as part of the family. It sucks that I can not walk her unless she is muzzled though due to the law in Ont Canada, she doesn't have a mean bone in her body unless you count licking as an attack lol.
My mum, sister brother...in fact all of my family hated dogs and I was never was allowed to keep one growing up. Once i had my own place i got myself a staffy and eventually (reluctantly) took her to my mums. They all fell in love with her and couldnt believe how lovely she is! Best dogs by far. im trying to convince my mum to get me one for Christmas (im 15) and i know there loving dogs because my auntie had a staffie-pitbull cross (i think) and he was the sweetest dog you could ever meet! Its all down to the owner. i mean, ive seen yorkshire terriers frighten off rottweillers! watching that dog grow up from a pup was amazing :)

Staffies are a pain in the bum..you can't fuss another pet because they try to get in the way as they want to have all of the love!!! I have a Staffy and a rabbit and they love each other soo much we feel pushed out!
Well said! They're the best dogs in the world. My Thelma is the favourite toy of all the kids in the neighbourhood, and she never did anything aggressive even when they pull her tail or her ears. She's a fantastic and very clever dog.

but staffs are defnitely the most loyal and loving breeds you'll ever find just by their pure instinct to protect their own. i've not given our staff any kind of training in that department n yet wen the mrs screamed over a bug flying round the room, the staff went rigidly into protect mode coz its her mummy!
People piss me off so much when it comes to these dogs. I have a staffordshire who stays in my yard. Friendliest dog ever. Always welcomes visitors in the driveway. But the stupid neighbors around here constantly give him weird, stern, annoyingly "concerned" looks, when if the bastards came to my yard, they would discover what a friendly dog he is. I have 2 staffs 1 pure white boy (Chico) and a choc bitch (Stella) color and there VERY loveable and loyal everyone always stop me and say "its very nice to see staffs well treated" they both snuggle up on me bed like little babys i feel so safe with them, there are so many ppl who are terrified of them but i always walk over and let me dogs jump all over them :D best thing i ever did was to get a staff

I'm not a dog owner.. a cat lover.. my 80 year old Dad wanted a dog, and chose to resue a Staffy..everyone (including me) tried to talk him out of it. The 'Head' of Staffy's UK (whatever the hell that is) also said no..he got his way and 'Bindy' arrived two days before she and 12 other abandoned Staffys were put down. She is the daftest, softest dog you could imagine - you're right- they do whatever you want- that's the owner's choice!

I am on my second Staffie, my 13 year old brindle called Spike passed away in his favourite place (Garden - sun bathing) May 2010, I immediately went out and brought another Staffie in to the family, the family felt incomplete without the love of a Staffie.

A relative of mine has two RESCUE-DOG staffies, I've been around a lot of dogs but they are my favourites out of any I've ever known, they're the most friendly dogs I've ever had the good fortune to meet. When I sit on the sofa they come up for cuddles and try to push each other out of the way for who gets to sit closest to me. They're no where near aggressive, unless you count death-by-licks ;) I love them to pieces, would pick them over a lab any day!!
Its not the breed that is dangerous is the person behind it that makes the dog that way, well known fact is that most small dogs like the Chihuahua are well known for biting people rather then the powerful breeds like cattle dogs,German Shepard and staffordshire. The dog whisper has over 6 pit bulls and they are all big sooks and would not hurt a fly, why? Because they don't have some idiot ruffing them up and making them do dog fighting. These dogs are beautiful and loving animals.

I have got a staff and she is lovely everytime she see another dog she want to play, shame some people teach them badly, i do believe dog is what you make of them, if you teach them to be friendly they will be friendly, my staff when i am walking with her everyone stop to look at her she is gorgeous caring and lovely, kids touch her with no problem. Give love to the dog and he will be a good dog.
I love how in news reports how they say "pit bulls and staffys" are "evil" and "dangerous" and yet, they ONLY show the parts that make them look bad, i mean for crying out loud ANY dog can bite a person and make them bleed, it's just a matter of timing, if they really got the GOOD side of the Pit Bulls and staffy's it would PROVE just how loving and loyal they really are. i have one of my own and i couldn't live without her love.

Never met a staff that has been aggressive toward me, and i have met maybe 100 in my life! i have been bitten four times off a dog, 3 times of 3 different German shepards and once of a rottweiler! also to the cat lady, i have been scratched off loads of cats, i dont like going near cats because they always scratch me so???
Very good breed i got 1 amstaff 1 belgian malinois and 2 spitz and they all play together its the owners fault that those breeds become like killing machine and i would say any dogs can become aggresive depending on how it was train
On two occassions now my staffy has been attacked by two different labradors, and i was reading in the paper this week about a labrador that attacked child and made a mess of his face - but am i ignorat, uneducated and downright stupid enough to think that labradors should be a banned breed? No. So why does that rule apply to Staffies?

Ive had 2 and both have been fab! Tyse, my first one never hurt anything. He absolutely loved other dogs, was great to see him running round with other peoples dogs having fun! He would let any dog in the house, lived with 4 cats that tortured his life haha And was petrified of my rabbits! He was extremely loyal and loving, very obedient and would do anything to please.
My new one is very nervous but she is getting there!

It's a shame that most Staffys in the UK nowadays are owned by paranoid chavs who are too retarded to look after their own kids let alone keep a dog wiv out kicking the shit out of it. They think Staffys and steroids make them look hard but they're fuck all. When they're off their leads they can't be trusted round other animals. Depends on the owner. I had 21 dogs at one point and the only one that was ever nasty was violently abused by it's previous owner.

I think a lot of the time, the problem with the staff and other dogs, is that other dogs are intimidated by the 'staffy stare' and what do dogs do when scared? attack. And more often than not, a staff will come out on top just through defending itself
I own a staffie and he is just such a wonderfull, gental dog who just loves people. It really pisses me off when people comment that staffies are nasty dogs. My dog was attacked by two jack russels who should have never been off leads in the first place. My staffie come off very bad. He didn't fight. Not an action of a dog whos breed is supose to be so agressive.

Personally, one of the best breeds that you could have in a family home. Very loving and loyal and sadly have such a stigma with them unfortunately because of how some humans treat them and raise them and now rescue centres are full of this breed more than any other... it will get to the point where they have to be banned like pit bulls are. i love my staffie, and you can tell who has owned one and who hasn't as other staffie owners will come over and have a chat and a stroke, people who have never owned one tend to cross the road or give a wide birth as all they know is what they read in the papers.its really sad as they dont know what there missing out on :)

Walking my staffy off lead in the local park, I witnessed three jack russells, a border collie and a lasza apso all displaying dominant aggressive behaviour toward other dogs with their owners struggling to control them. I usually hear them say "be nice" or "behave!" in a slightly panicky voice.
Now, if my staffie behaved like this in public (he's 11 and has always been very sociable) there would be a mass outcry of "those dogs should be banned/put down" *sigh*....

I love staffs, my dog is half staff half lab. These dogs wouldn't hurt a fly if they are brought up properly, don't hate the breed, hate the owner. It doesn't matter if it's a labrador, poodle, chihuahua, staff, golden retriever,terrier, dalmatian or rottweiler. The thing that matter is the owner should be responsible enough to socialize their dog and bring it up properly, otherwise any dog no matter what breed could bite and has the power to do so.

Just rescued one today from the pound, I am excited to have her as part of the family. It sucks that I can not walk her unless she is muzzled though due to the law in Ont Canada, she doesn't have a mean bone in her body unless you count licking as an attack lol.

My mum, sister brother...in fact all of my family hated dogs and I was never was allowed to keep one growing up. Once i had my own place i got myself a staffy and eventually (reluctantly) took her to my mums. They all fell in love with her and couldnt believe how lovely she is! Best dogs by far. People piss me off so much when it comes to these dogs. I have a staffordshire who stays in my yard. Friendliest dog ever. Always welcomes visitors in the driveway. But the stupid neighbors around here constantly give him weird, stern, annoyingly "concerned" looks, when if the bastards came to my yard, they would discover what a friendly dog he is. The prejudice is just such bullshit.. thank you American media. The only dog we have that will bite is my Mom's little chihuahua in the house.

I'm not a dog owner.. a cat lover.. my 80 year old Dad wanted a dog, and chose to resue a Staffy..everyone (including me) tried to talk him out of it. The 'Head' of Staffy's UK (whatever the hell that is) also said no..he got his way and 'Bindy' arrived two days before she and 12 other abandoned Staffys were put down. I am on my second Staffie, my 13 year old brindle called Spike passed away in his favourite place (Garden - sun bathing) May 2010, I immediately went out and brought another Staffie in to the family, the family felt incomplete without the love of a Staffie.

A relative of mine has two RESCUE-DOG staffies, I've been around a lot of dogs but they are my favourites out of any I've ever known, they're the most friendly dogs I've ever had the good fortune to meet. When I sit on the sofa they come up for cuddles and try to push each other out of the way for who gets to sit closest to me. They're no where near aggressive, unless you count death-by-licks ;) I love them to pieces, would pick them over a lab any day!!

Its not the breed that is dangerous is the person behind it that makes the dog that way, well known fact is that most small dogs like the Chihuahua are well known for biting people rather then the powerful breeds like cattle dogs,German Shepard and staffordshire. The dog whisper has over 6 pit bulls and they are all big sooks and would not hurt a fly, why? Because they don't have some idiot ruffing them up and making them do dog fighting. He would let any dog in the house, lived with 4 cats that tortured his life haha And was petrified of my rabbits! He was extremely loyal and loving, very obedient and would do anything to please.

My dog was attacked by two jack russels who should have never been off leads in the first place. My staffie come off very bad. He didn't fight. Not an action of a dog whos breed is supose to be so agressive.
Staffie's are great dogs .
What people need to remember is any dog can be aggressive in the wrong hands.

The only two dogs that have attacked my staff, have been labradors, both off lead. Both charged us and went for him, good job I had sturdy shoes on.

st3vi Don't be so ignorant, people like you drive me insane. They think they know what they are talking about cuz all the other idiots broadcast bad stories about staffys. I work with dogs and everytime I mix them you know who the instigators are? THE FRIGGIN LABS! They are so poorly trained, You just dont here the stories of labs attacking other dogs and biting children because "they are such gentle, good family dogs" A dog is what you make it and there is no reason to put down all of one breed
