I like this game a LOT better than BF2. I got jaded after a while with BF2 because I could empty a clip into someone and it would have no effect if they were jumping/dolphin diving. They would return fire with a pistol and kill me while I was reloading. That kind of stuff drove me nuts.
The only significant problem with DC is that the bots jack your vehicle as you are getting it into position to attack. There should be a patch that allows you to kick them out.
I agree man, BF1942 will reign supreme in the hearts and minds of millions for years and years. Great video, love the song too. I hope BF3 hits the spot that has been left void for so long. If they can bring back the multi-player, the vehicle combat, the maps and map sizes, and modding community into BF3, well we'll have a modern winner, if not, then we'll have another COD clone. @quicksilver40 I read from some modders site that they developed the BF3 engine with consoles in mind and in order to not reinvent the wheels, used tools and pipeline which helped target both consoles + PC affordably. The downside they say is it limits the ease of modding greatly compared to BF1942 & BF2. Some mods are *always* possible but the time to do something of course limits the scope of mods. eg. Major mods might be better of starting from scratch with Crysis 1 engine instead time-wise.

@RageMojo BS. They gave them some piddly money for the rights and assets to avoid possible legal issues in BF2 release which was basically poor mans DC gameplay wise (at release atleast, I haven't kept up with BF2 mods), the DC team didn't want to move to Sweden.
To reiterate: DC team had absolutely zilch to do with BF2 or 3, and it shows, those two suck.

Maybe you're too young to have played this, but this is a far better game than BF2 in my opinion. The planes in the game were far funner to fly and there was a lot of competition in the air. I love this game with a passion! I would still play it if servers were still full

Just saying it's outdated now and pretty annoying compared to BF2 or any subsequent game because you can't sprint, the AI is terrible, and the flying is terrible. And also, no one is on the servers anymore. But no doubt it was the best FPS when it came out
