The X thing on the d-pad controls not only that the d-pad doesn't go out of place but it also controls the motions, since we press harder the left side of the d-pad mosf of the times, the X is missing a "leg" on the left side (right part if you're looking at the controller from the inside, so make sure you put the X in that way, otherwise you're going to have problems with your D-pad not recognizing properly your pressure inputs, as in you'll have to press harder on the legless part.

But there's something that should have been included, though. What do you need to do if the main buttons don't work? I mean the square, triangle, circle and X buttons, especially if the input don't work. I tried it out with one of my games and neither the triangle and circle buttons work. What can I do to solve this?

My analog light and use of the analog sticks turn off if the controller shakes too much so I need to turn the Vibration off in the game and try not to move to much the cable and the controller while pressing the buttons...

@Luiscota1986 Well it's the motors that cause the rumble for vibration settings. If you removed the weights from the rumble motors, you wouldn't have to worry about turning vibration off on every single game every time you wanted to play. However it might be something needs to be re-soldered to the board. To be honest though, if you're looking for a long term solution, I'd just pick up another controller. Just a secondhand one would be ok, unless there was damage to that one as well.

mine's beyond repair. i actually got pissed from a game where i lost or died and threw the ps2 controller down hard onto the hardwood floor... and it sounded conjumbled when it rumbled from there on out. it actually broke the outside surface a little on the edge where the two casing pieces connect. anyways that was years ago i just opened it tonight and saw that I broke both rumble casings completely apart and the L&R trigger connector casings, among other damage. sucks

anybody have a problem with all of their controllers and just the buttons don't work? My ps2 is able to run games and get to the start menu but after that i can't do anything except scroll down some of the options and the analogue stick only works in a certain direction, this problem is common for all my ps2 controllers and i haven't tried using a new one. yeah i opened mine and then i found out that there's a broken pieces. the good thing is i have fixed my ps2 controller. this video saved my bad ass L2 and R2. and its now working fine.

darn that L2 button for it to work you have to press it hard. everythings working fine but that L2 button whenever you need to use it its always like that. i have my original playstation1 fat. dualshock controller. in some games yes it works but for any kingdom hearts game it wants dualshock2 controller. problem is you cant play properly with that annoying L2 button T___T kinda scared to open it i might get it broken XD i only know how to replace ps1,ps2slim,ps2fat lens.

the replacement cords are extremely cheap, like 1 or 2 bucks tops. they are also easy to replace.

is you controller an original sony one or is it a copy? (does it have the white housing when you open it?)

To Jump is the X Button. So i just use the analog to run and move the camera.And out of nowhere Naruto jump punch. And my fingers is nowhere near the buttons. the frame connecting to your circuit board broke.. its easy to fix.. just need some scotch tape. the frame i am talking about is just the white thing in the video at around 1:24. you will see where you need to fix. if thats not the case you have wiring problems or the buttons are simply not touching the white frame. the buttons are not held in, hence why the guy said some things may fall of the controller but can be put back on
