I think this is because it is to the right and to the left of the child that is watching the tv not the right or left of the actual characters. Just a thought...that way it wouldn't be so confusing I imagine...especially if you are trying to teach them right and left and then throw in the mirror image like on tv.

This is called Sign Language is what she's teaching. This is for baby's to learn to start communicating before they can even speak. Also this is for deaf people. This is what you need to teach kids sometimes. I am still learning and i'm hard of hearing!

Well, Hopkins is just a random frog. He showed up in of Vol. 4 of regular Signing Time (ST). According to a press release from ST (or something like that), he was originally a gecko named Twerp (a play on "terp" for interpreter) and was supposed to be Leah's "voice." However, Leah learned to speak, so he's just a frog. When they made regular Alex and Leah animated babies, they made Hopkins (who was already animated) a baby as well. I don't know any reason why he's a frog, he just is.

I LOVE this. Our son was gifted the baby signing DVDs at my baby shower actually, and now that he's 3 months old we've brought them out and let him watch them while we do the signs with his hands. Even we are learning as well. Great program! This is one of my favorite songs.
