@R0cKs0l1dd omg dude....whats the big mistake grammer police sir....as if i give a shit to check my spelling on youtube. do everyone a favor and pull that stick out you're ass k?
@thecanadianwill Technically you could just say "Hey Link, kill that shit over there, go get some pieces of heart, then get Zelda for me, kay?" but where's the fun in that... Complex and innovative controls are what drive Nintendo to its success, while other companies rely on satisfying multiplayer and graphics to draw their crowd. If Nintendo wanted to make the WiiBox 360 they could do it easily, but that's not how they roll.
@TyPaen clearly....thats why you can play all new games that come out on modern "medium" PCs right? Theres a reason that exportation of any console is tracked by several govts. and thats because they all are super computers....its hard for you to believe i know, but most consoles can be converted into very fast and precise computer machines...Dont comment about something you dont know, makes you look stupid.
@Devilmaycryxx3 So every computer more powerful than a ps3 or xbox is tracked too? LMAO
Learn to interpret first.. I am saying about games. Cell is shit for games. So shit that nobody will use it again in a console or a game PC. That thing has just raw power, used for calculations. A phenom II x4 with a HD 4850 put any console to shame in any game. A medium PC today. Very stupid eh.
@sceeche that's what I am saying. They also said that they cannot show any games this weak so all they show are TECH-DEMOS to show the capabilities of the controller rather than the graphical power of the actual system.
They will have Batman: AC, the new Ninja Gaiden, Darksiders 2 and many others. Even Battlefield 3.
To all those who are saying that the Vita can do the same thing that the Wii U is promising, I don't believe it can (from what I understand).
The vita is confirmed to be able to take saves of compatible games from the PS3 to the Vita or the opposite. The Wii U is promising to be able to seamlessly transfer all games from the console to the controller instantly. The Vita will only be able to do this with a handful of games, and it wouldn't be instant nor seamless (so it would seem).
@lIHavocIl why do people even compare them? the WiiU is an HD living room system while the PSVita is a handheld. the thing you see here is just the controller. the real games don't work unless you are in range of the actual device.
@crashfan123 No, NGP is not a gimmick because its a stand alone real console as well. I'm just saying in theory the NGP and a PS3 can work together the same way the Wii U console and Wii U controller do if they wanted. So in theory you could actually port Wii U games to PS3 + NGP. That's not a gimmick, that's more options.
@supradoom soo, you say that the ngp has the same functionality as the wii u but somehow the wii u is the gimmick and not the ngp....riiiiiight and like i said, who cares if it is a gimmick as long as it properly implemented?
@crashfan123 but the NGP isn't basing it's entire system around the gimmick. That's what I'm trying to say. Nintendo needs to just make a system about the games and not the gimmicks... hasn't had a good system since gamecube. I am sure they will do the gimmick well... but I just wish they weren't designing the console around it.
@supradoom i understand how you feel but i see it like this, its INNOVATIVE but not TOO innovative like the wii was where they just went crazy, AND they are pushing for 3rd party and the graphics are really good, Nintendo knows where they went wrong with the wii, and i believe the will fix it with this.
@crashfan123 It's funny I mentioned that because IGN just did an article on exactly what I was talking about. This technology will be out 1 year before the Wii U even drops, on PS3 + NGP / VITA.
Check PS3ign. Nintendo will still have its place with its 1st party exclusives.
@supradoom The WiiU is not a handheld console. Just the wiimote for the new console. Nintendos handheld is the 3ds so stop comparing them and i very much doubt you can play games with vita and ps3 simultaneously or even play a game on your ps3, pause cuz ur dad wants to watch the game then resume that very same game on your vita.
@fraudster111 Yes, that technology is already present. It's not much different than the current PSP / PS3 remote play options. You can already do similar things with remote play. What I'm saying is you can do everything with the NGP + PS3 that you can with the Wii U, because the NGP is actually more powerful than the Nintendo controller, and it has all of the same features.
@supradoom K i see what you saying but you kinda missing my point. First let me say this. If i had to choose right now between a vita or the WiiU. I would without a seconds hesitation pick the vita because its a fucking portable ps3. Now my point is the WiiU is a CONTROLLER. keyword "CONTROLLER" So if you wanna compare. Compare the WiiUs CONTROLLER to the ps3s controller. You trying to put the CONTROLLER on the same ball park as a handheld console. Nintendo has the best console CONTROLLER.
@fraudster111 Well my only really point was you can get the same experience from Sony, especially if you plan on buying a NGP and already have a PS3. Nothing more.
@supradoom K ive actually looked it up. You cant take over from a game you playing on your ps3 unto your vita the way the WiiU controller does. So THERE! lol
@supradoom Dude. The Umote and the WiiU are one. A console and its controller. Think of it like a giant DS. The top screen being the tv and the bot screen being the Umote. The ps3 and the vita and are not one. They can synergize together but they are two different consoles that both each require you to buy games. So you cant buy wipeout for the ps3 and not the vita but still be able to play wipeout on your vita. Even if you did. You cant pause the game on your ps3 and resume play on your vita.
@fraudster111 Yes you can, that technology already exists with the original PSP. Look at the technology behind all this, everything is the same. The NGP interaction with PS3 is no different than the Wii U console with the Wii U controller. It's the exact same concept / technology. Don't believe me, but you'll see. Why do you think there are already articles about this technology happening soon for Sony.
"once again steal".... Yeah so first of all Motion sensoring wasn't really something Nintendo invented, even more ironic is that the Wii motion controller basically makes use of the EyeToy technology seen on PS2 years before... so watch your mouth... And i'll be damn sure that there was things before the EyeToy
@oliverandm LOL You talking about that bs webcam? That would be ironic if i was talking about the kinect. Now if you wanna talk about motion controls in general. Have you heard of nintendos powerglove? So it just happens that when nintendo gets real succesful with its motion device. Microsoft and sony realized they need to put out theirs too? CMON SON. I would bet my left nut that if the wii wasnt motion sensitive. Sony and microsoft would have kept those motion systems deep down in the vault.
@fraudster111 Not to mention that this controller, probarly wont cost much, since all the main horsepowers are in the main console unit, which is why you cant actually take this controller with you out onto the bus or whatever and still play, since it would loose the connection with the console. The touch screen of that type too probarly wont cost much either. So its really not fair comparing the wii-u controller to a vita.
@supradoom I suppose... but who wants to go out and buy a $300 controller?
Plus, the PS3's processor will probably chug while trying to replicate this. This device was designed for multiple streaming with no latency issues.
Anyway, I doubt this'll make Sony or Microsoft are going to budge by releasing an all new next-gen console. Seems like the Kinect/Move has those two locked in for a bit longer. Nintendo looks like they are playing a little catch up...
@capnbarfy $250 first off, and its not just a controller. It will do way more than the Wii U "controller". The PS3's processor is still a beast, and as far as processing complicated code its still up there with even the best of the i7's out today. Look at the teraflops of a cell processor compared to any current gen processor. The Processor in the Wii U will not out perform the cell period. Also, if you know how this these work its not a CPU intensive task, and it will be easy to replicate.
@supradoom You are missing the point. I'm fully aware that PSVita is more than just a controller, but $250-300 is way too steep just to have a similar feature on the PS3.
This new console is specifically designed for multiple displays, as it utilizes ATI Eyefinity technology. The PS3, despite how powerful it is, would have to render to multiple outputs, which will bog down the processor and eat up RAM.
You can continue to hate, 'cause haters gonna hate...but don't act like a foolish fanboy.
@capnbarfy There is no fanboy in my posts, just truth. You can say what you want but the PS3 has a sick processor even by todays standards. There is a reason the Navy bought a ton of them to make cheap super computers. The only things that really blow the PS3 away in terms of calculations today is GPU's. I am not saying people should pay for a vita for simply this experience, but one of the benefits of owning a VITA will be the same type of game play you will get from the Wii-U.
@supradoom I understand that the PS3's processor is remarkable (especially in 2006), however the Wii U (stupid name) processor that IBM has been working on is based on the technology used for the Watson super-computer on Jeopardy.
I love Sony and their products, but clearly the Wii U will be the more powerful machine on the market, and is designed for multiple streaming outputs. The PS3 can't just go "up and do this" (it even struggles with some 1080p games with 1 screen).
@capnbarfy The reasons it struggles with some tasks and not others, is because of the way the tasks are in design. This is the reason for the average game you won't see any huge benefit to having the cell over something that is similar on 360, but when it comes to a complicated task like crunching numbers for multiple streams the cell will still excel. Let's just leave it at time will tell, but I am willing to bet the only thing holding the NGP from doing it currently is software, not hardware.
Go ahead and ignore what I said about Eyefinity, which will allow the Wii U to stream video on multiple screens effortlessly. PS3 will have to render each individual output 1-by-1 in order to make something similar.
This is indeed something the (already outdated) PS3 hardware lacks... And I'm sure the Watson technology will not have issues with number crunching and multiple queries (watch Jeopardy).
PS3 may 'do everything', but Nintendo has found a few things it can't...
@capnbarfy There are software solutions or walk arounds to everything you are talking about, including eyefinity. Don't believe me, I don't care.. you'll see.
@supradoom I'm not saying it's impossible for the PS3 to replicate this. The PS3 is just going to chug in order to produce similar results, as I said earlier (360 would probably die doing this).
All Sony needs to do is release something far more powerful, which will demolish both the Wii U and the 360... but there's really no need to do this. People will continue to buy PS3s for its current library & Bluray support.
