I'd defend the use of the Capricorn One soundtrack because it's by Jerry Goldsmith, who composed the score for STTMP, and it was composed around the same time.
2) Trailers/teasers tend to use music from other sources in them, chiefly because the score for the film has not been written yet... Case in point, this particular piece of music was used in a teaser for SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE.
3) That said, I thought the music conveyed the feel I was going for in the teaser
4) Having said that as well, there are narrative tracks missing from the piece that would explain the story a bit and worked with the music.
