I really want to dedicate myself to something like lolita, but its not nearly as accepted in the states as it may be in japan. i get nervous just thinking about wearing it on the street. americans are super mean when something stands out and doesnt fit their style of "normal" And its expensive...and it consumes so much time...and being a curvy girl i wonder if it would suit me
@immaculation666 just go 4 it, you dont have to wear 100% lolita from one day to the other, start with small changings up to a Casual Lolita style until its normal for yourself ^.^ (i have to learn this as well, ok i am male, so i'm going to a more kodona/dandy syle, but its not easy as well XD)
@Misut13 haha I'll try not to be shy...thats what my problem is lol my parents think im crazy wanting to dress like thisxD they think its like for a party or chrismas idk:))) but yeah ill take baby steps
@immaculation666 yes parents can be cruel, i've got the luck that my mother was punk-like in her young years, so she can understand much things :-P (and my father is her footman anyway). I wish you success ^^
so beatiful, the dress at 1:10 i have searched for so many times, lolita is so amazing i love have more and more non-japanese girls are getting into it, its really pretty and throws the stereotypical "you have to show skin to look good" out of the window =) go lolis!
Umm, Mr. EyeLean? I do not mean to sound imposing or rude, but in the lolita subculture, it is virtually unknown who named it that.Being a fan for over 10 years,I know the term from that novel is not related when talking about the fashion. The fashion came out first in the late 1970's in Japan, before it had a name, and your actually not that far off about inspirations of the fashion! Alot of boutiques selling the fashion will have prints of alice-themed designs. I hope I didn't offend you!
Beautiful clips and music, I love this style no matter what branch of Lolita you are. I would wear it every day but I don't own enough suitable things to pull that off. Thanks for the upload~ <3
I think that anyone can be a lolita no matter what color or anything it's all about being yourself so it does not matter if your black or white or even spanish or indian does not matter what color and if people make fun of your lolita dress pay them no mind because always remember lolita's are very plesant I mean I am Black and I am going to dress like a sweet lolita.
thankyou for writing that im black too and i love lolita but i thought i would be weird if i wore it because of my skin color but now i can start waering it with no problem thanks to you ( =
Well sometimes it looks weird because some of them are trying waaayyy to hard. ): It makes me really mad when they think of it as cosplay and not a fashion (infuriatingly mad). I think it's true dolls come in all shapes and sizes, but some people really do try to hard to be what they're not. And some people do it for attention. I like it personally because it's elegant and feminin and really can make a girl feel beautiful.
If you think that it is weird for "white" girls to be lolita do u think its weird for "black" girls to do it or any other race AND tall or short? besides asian?remember dolls come in all shapes and colors, think about it.
But I think I know what you mean. It really is sometimes weird, because, then you think of a lolita you think of a small and childlike girl, and some girls here look very mature, so it kind of looks unusal.
Go all lolita girls! Who cares if your asian or white or whatever...I think all that matters is if you like it^^ But I agree tall girls would look a bit odd in lolita...
i looked up Wa Lolita. I didnt even know that look was considered a lolita style. guess you learn something every day. but yes i agree tall people do look awesome in that
meh, i think anyone can do it, it's just a matter of their taste. tall girls can be beautiful in lolita, as long as they understand what suits them best. mayhap you've only seen tall girls look bad in lolita? doesn't mean they all will :)
i dont have a problem with people who arent asian dressing like this(it really doesnt matter what ethnisity you are) but some people just cant pull it of. no offence but some of the larger girls for example.
the most Lolitas aren't from japan, so you can't say japanese lolita i think...but okay, when you say that, because to make clear that we are not like the girl in the book, it's fine.^^
mimic: imitating or copying something, often on a SMALLER SCALE. Japanese didnt pull that style out of nowhere. you can appreciate the style, but then you be able to acknowledge where things originate from.
do your parents not like them!!!! would they prefer hot pants and a little top! nothing is wrong with lolita......if i was a parent id prefer my kid to cover up! whilst still looking awesome....and lolita is that
how i wish, females these days should wear these pretty lolita dresses ! thumbs u if u're with me

And I think this style is inappropriately named.
Lolita did most emphatically not dress like a six-year old. She made the most of what little pubescence she had.
These women should be called Alice-in-Wonderland instead.

Not particularly,
There is heaps of styles of Lolita and there is one for everyone.
I, being fairly tall myself, think Wu Lolita suits me best. =]
While Sweet Lolita is more suited for shorter people, there are Lolita styles that can be aimed at tall people and bigger people. :D
