  • We don't appreciate heroes until they're gone

  • To fight for a GOD beliefs , and for improvemnts , it all worth dieing for. There is no pain no sorrow , only to keep fighting in this world & the afterlife, then it will be peace.

  • why did you cut out ujios scene where he basicly owns? :(

  • there runing like H311

  • "Perfect, they are all perfect"

  • a very nice movie...

  • kind of a cheesy film lol

  • it samurai it bushido

  • the name of the first song

  • @kenkaish red warrior.

  • The Best Film All Time!!!! I love it!!! ♥♥♥ =) =')

  • That guy John Marston'd them samurai.

  • Man why did they have to make the samurai look like good guys. The men with guns were fighting for democracy for god's sake.

  • @PolakBear

do some research on ''democracy'' kid and you will find out that democracy makes it way in to a country with tanks and gun fire...the samurai had a code of honor and discipline.

    democracy = buy our shit.

  • @PolakBear Not really, they were fighting for the people on the imperial court who welcomed at the changes that the western people brought to Japan, including industry and a end to the life of the Samurai, thats what the samurai was fighting for here, to preserve their ancient and sacred way of life.

  • @PolakBear i think you may be equating westernisation with democracy. i would say the two aren't the same thing

  • @PolakBear The samurai fought too protect there way of life, same as for so many natives back around these eras.

  • possibly the only time ever in history where a blade was equal to a gun

  • @dondondodo Neither weapon is equal, what truly matters is the person wielding it. I may be wrong but i think that's a lesson some of us have forgotten in today's services

  • Its sad seeing countrymen killing eachother.

  • @Niftyeye You said it, we're all still human.

  • lol got here from reasons for rise in japanese militarism

  • Last words… "Perfect. They're all perfect!"

  • You missed the part with the silent samurai

  • poor horsies

  • samurai... bushito... taking consequences for your actions

  • who's the leading lady of tom cruise here??? i want to know coz i have feeling for her..!

  • wow a heck of a lot of samurai died

(i used samurai because i dont know its plural term because sounds weird if samurais)

  • could u imagine if during the time there were modern firearms?

  • 4:47 hardcore badass motherfucker

  • this is the only movie, the only scene, when i cry

  • Is this film historically accurate? No.

Is it awesome and have some very cool battle scenes? Yes.

Do I think that maybe people should stop complaining and start enjoying how excellently they depicted an army of Samurai making a brave last stand? Absolutely.

  • War is a terrible thing, and no war is a good war. "Fighting for war is like screwing for virginity".

  • i am part samurai but i still think it was good that they fell or else japan wouldn't be were it is at today.

  • i don't know why...

But, this scene make me sad...

  • Fine thx to respect samurai after all die ¬¬

  • put this video "Pfeifer Broz. - Glacial Supremacy" and then the last samuray battle at 6:35, then enjoy the epicness....

  • strange to think the actual white samurai was french...never would have seen it coming

  • @asdfbobbyasdf Jules Brunet, right?

  • @asdfbobbyasdf false

  • @asdfbobbyasdf The only foreign samurai was an Englishman called William Adams.

  • @TubbyMcChubbles uhhh no there was also a 4 french officers of Republic of Ezo, one was Jules Brunet (the leader)

  • @asdfbobbyasdf True, but to be a huge history nerd here, the first actual western samurai, was a british sailor who was granted the two swords from the Shogun to represent his authority as a samurai.

  • All this arguing about history is useless, just so you guys know. This movie is a movie, and doesn't claim to be anything more. You guys arguing about a 150 year old revolt is interesting, but idiotic.

  • epic

  • Yo a las armas de fuego las considero cobardes porque las luchas serias de verdad se libran con cuerpo y alma. Bueno en fin, buen vídeo saludos.

  • @elmaster947 me gusta

  • Samurai's brutality + Ninja's precision + Modern Day Special forces weapons training = 1 Bad M.F. you wouldn't want to piss off.

  • @Jdiggy77 Say hello to the U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. my friend

  • This movie just proves that imperialism fucks everything up but is probably the only way civilizations move on. Take China for example.

  • A true warrior doesnt need sword but just courage.

  • @Promisedtime a bullet in the head takes care of courage.

  • BTW, this movie reminds me of Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai! I can't wait to get it!

  • That just proves that countries at that time are accepting guns as a primary weapon because most of them orginated from the West.

  • What surprising me on this film is that there is no feeling of strangeness. hard to believe this film was created by NOT JAPANESE.

  • Hooray for modernization!

  • Cant wait until Shogun Total War Fall of the Samurai

  • Those rifles are Dreyse m1841 if im not confused right? - pretty much the most modern weapon carried by one man at that time

  • @JustFlemishMe In these times (I mean the Edo period) without any war, the samurai became more like clerks than warriors. And remember that many of their feudal lords opposed shogun who had agreed to break the isolation.

  • @SharoRioni Yes, there were always Daimyo saying they should trade with foreigners. Why? I never found out. And, well, Samurai served the emperor. If they could do so better with a pen than with a katana, of course His Majesty's interests were more important. But in essence, theywere a caste of warriors - and damn good ones too (logical, since they started training at 10).

  • Q~Q..

  • The 21 dislikes are Rotchild's relatives...

  • thats why i like shogun total war

  • Great movie and all but really? out of all those Samurai the white man was the last one to stand...

  • Nodachi-BANZAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  • :( if only they charged screaming "BANZAAI" they would have had a better chance :/

  • Here a movie "Last Nigger on earth......Starring Tom Hanks" won't they do that movie - Paul Mooney

  • Tom Cruise's best film, period. According to Ken Watanabe Tom Cruise worked his butt off learning Kendo. HARD. Great compliment from the industrious Japanese. Ken Watanabe is kendo master.

  • @JustFlemishMe I'd also like for Japan to not break the isolation, but in fact, Japan didn't have much choice. The american commodore Matthew Perry forced japanese shogun to sign the trade treaty with the US. American navy was far more powerful than japanese. Signing the trade treaty and breaking the isolation was the only wise option for Japan.

Japan didn't want to end the isolation.

  • @SharoRioni I can imagine why not! But why would the Samurai asume a loss against some mere gaijin ('foreigners')? The Emperor was a god. And even if their navy was crushed, they'd just fight on land - the terrain where their warriors had the more experience.

Of course, aftertalk is a lot easier.

  • 8:09 HOLY shit I would hate to be that stuntman.

  • If shogunate won, Japan probably would not have a strong military, so it would not be strong enough to invade other countries and commit many unforgivable crimes during WWII, and it probably wouldn't get nuked by U.S.

  • @vvvSoulreapervvv ye cuz america is to cowardly to fight so they nuke

coz japanese have nonour to the death

  • @vvvSoulreapervvv With all due respect to the Divine Emperor Meiji: ending the Japanese Isolation was a mistake. They all were happy with how things were before those Western types replaced the 'native' culture. Now, of course, they have no choice but to follow. But if I could do it all over, I would just sit on my island, unite all the people, and live in peace.

  • Who knows what Japan would be if shogunate had won. I don't like to rewrite history.

It was a good movie to watch even i would prefers the true story of the french Jules Brunet.

  • 'eee hrucka bootei grayedag'

  • This movie is very nice, true story,It is sad!

  • THIS IS JAPAAAAAAAAAAAN!! xD

  • 04:31 The Whole Video Was Just Awesome And Epic.... Then He Spoke That Language. o_o

  • God damn does everyone need to argue about what they do and don't like about this movie? and does it really matter if Tom Cruise was in it? He is a good actor so deal with it. It's a movie so live with it you fucking idiots.

  • Tom Cruise ruined what could've been a really good movie.

  • @sophmore90

wtf you saying ? :O the people who makes this movie, have choose him because he is a awesome actor.....

  • The Samurai will rise again, they will once again pick up arms and take there revenge against America for what they have done to them and I cant wait for that to happen, the Americans will pleed for mercy but the Samurai show no Mercy!

  • @doctorben1507 Can't wait to see 100 samurai taking on an Apache 300 feet above them.

  • @GUnitSeanAKAmong Stop being rediculous, the time difference is huge, respect the old ways

  • And i wanna see how a Navy seal takes on a samurai hand to hand - and then get massacred....

    Dump americans

  • @JSLegoMaster My comment was a reply to someone who wanted the samurai to rise up and take over the world and kill white people, and I'm not American either.

  • I had no idea about that - sorry in that case

  • @JSLegoMaster Would you honestly expect a soldier trained to use guns, in an army that uses guns, in a culture that uses guns, to be able to defeat a soldier who has trained since he was a small child in the art of one-on-one, hand-to-hand combat in a culture that revolves around the use of swords and personal honor?

It's funny how people who trash America and Americans are often much more ignorant than the people they're insulting.

  • You missunderstood my comment cimpletley - what i said was that a samurai would totaly dominate in a hand to hand combat against pretty much every solider nowadays

  • @JSLegoMaster You misunderstood what I said, modern day soldiers don't focus on hand to hand, they shoot people. They learn to aim and they learn to protect themselves from a guy with a knife, not engage in sword combat.

  • @BlobTheBunny And you would know this how? Because I AM a modern day soldier, and I can assure you that hand to hand training is focused on.

  • Comment removed

  • @BlobTheBunny Talking about soldiers trained to use guns... let's see... the Satsuma revolt took place in 1877... the Imperial forces were using weapons from around the 1850s... That would pretty much still be the time where you go "Fire, fix bayonets, charge!". Oh, yes, and cavalry meant "guy on a horse with a sabre in his hand". Do you have any general concept of... you know... history? That's the time when things weren't necessarily the way they are now, kid.

  • @SteinbrecherBack I have no clue why you're talking about soldiers from the 1800's, I was only ever talking about modern day soldiers and samurai. Riflemen from the 1800's have absolutely no relevance to what I've been saying. I don't know what you thought I was talking about, but you should obviously think these things through before you go posting irrelevant information and making wild assumptions on what I'm saying.

  • @BlobTheBunny What the fuck were you talking about modern-day soldiers fighting Japanese feudal ruling classes? That doesn't even deserve to be called retarded. Also, how would I get the idea it's what you were talking about? Let's see... very unspecific post beneath a fake history film... yeah, how DID I get to that? Prat.

  • @SteinbrecherBack You could try reading the comments I was responding to, idiot.

  • @doctorben1507

"...but the Samurai show no Mercy!"

Which would make them no good Samurai!

From a (good) Samurai, mercy and fairness is expected. And why do you think the Samurai will rise again? How should this happen? And if... Katana vs. modern smart bombs? Sounds like youre kinda crazy. Anyways, mind to explain the 2nd rise of the Samurai?

Oh and... Revenge will not change history.

  • @CombatMedicTM .... Good Point i didnt think about it that way.

  • @doctorben1507

Thank you. But Im still interested in your "2nd rise of the Samurai theory"...

  • @CombatMedicTM cheers infact maby they will came back or maby they wont but it would be so cool if they did they would have like lightsaber swords and armour invisibal to bullets get what im saying or is that abit not our time?

  • @doctorben1507 Do you have any form of formal education. ill take pre-school if that's all you got

  • @bersondays

"Do you have any form of formal education. ill take pre-school if that's all you got"

I have no idea the context ,but i jsut loled at that xD

  • @Supremecript I think you're being a bit irrational. If you know anything about the true story behind this film, there is a FRENCH man, aka in that time period white, who joined forces with the samurai after being so influenced by their culture to fight against the Meiji Gov't. The other movies I cannot speak for.

  • @Supremecript I am white but i prefer to be consider as my Cherokee fathers side. i believe that the big arguement in Hollywood is you either gotta be Black or white :/ i think we need more spanish, asian and Native American people as the heros in movies, because they were more of heros in wars than Blacks or whites

  • We don't appreciate true heroes until they're gone :*(

  • @DestroyerOfSense000

Japan revived that heroism later on.

That was a bit too heroic for the world's asshole to handle.

  • @DestroyerOfSense000 You do realise that this is not in any way close to the real Satsuma revolt, don't you? Please tell me you don't actually believe even one second of what is shown in any "historical film" from Hollywood...

  • @SteinbrecherBack I know that this movie is romantic fantasy. By this time the samurai were just a corrupt and dying nobility and probably hadn't fought in ages. I love the heroism, however. That's why I talk about this movie so favorably. But even this sort of heroism, for the most part, is romantic fantasy

  • This will never beat Braveheart

  • The Samurais where and are proud warriors. Even the last one standing will still be charging into battle and defending his honor....

  • Name of the song at the begining?

  • @Zombiemuthafawka21 I believe it's called "Red Warrior" (referring to Captain Nathan Algren wearing Hirotaro's armour).

  • Fall of the Samurai on shogun 2 anyone?

  • @ContinentalPatriot you bet your fucking ass i came here 10 seconds after I saw it on steam.

  • The last Samurai was French

  • @ShovelHorse samurai dont accept gays

  • Comment removed

  • @ThePsych0mantis I suppose you are American dont forget who helped you in your independence war who gave you the statue of Liberty us French we had Napoleon dont call us gays

  • It was actually good that the samurai lost. If the samurai had won, japan would have been taken over by the US. A guy called Perry or Pelly or something was trying to take japan

  • @TheNinjanordundor The fuck are you talking about? Japan never tried to take over the US. It was the US with its warship, the matthew.c. perry that bombarded Japan to force them out of their isolationism policy. Your ignorance is outstanding.

  • @ricyorb Twas for the best. Or else without modernizing people could of invaded and wiped them out with superior things such as guns and cannon.

  • @ContinentalPatriot Well it might have been for the best at the end since Japan never got colonized thanks to the Meiji restoration but it does not justify the bombardment. Saying so is just stupid.

  • @ricyorb Well it depends whose side you're on. If you were in vital need of a trade partner and the only reaosn they wouldn't trade was because they wanted to be isolated, it's kind of annoying.

  • @ricyorb Sorry thats what i ment. The us tried to take over japan

  • @TheNinjanordundor Well, if the Japanese hadn't broken their isolation, no one would have had any reason for coming there. I'm actually against 'Westernizing'. Do you know why they forced themselves to?

  • @JustFlemishMe If the American navy sail into Tokyo bay with ships and gunpowder based weapons you've never even heard of, you'd be pretty fucking terrified too. That was why they broke the isolation.

  • @BladesNstuffs Why would they asume it existed if they 'never even heard of' it? And if they came, I'll quote Daimyo Katsumoto Moritsugu: "It makes no difference. They will come and we will make our stand." I'd just be insulted, get my katana, assemble a party of Samurai and attack. Get on board, and they aren't that tough anymore.

  • @JustFlemishMe Perry sailed into Tokyo after terrified Japanese civilians ran away from the beaches, claiming sea dragons were attacking Japan. After the Shogunite saw the cannons they realized "Oh shit, us and out swords don't stand a chance"

  • @BladesNstuffs If I were the Emperor and heard some civilians claimed "We are under attack from sea dragons", I'd send an admiral to check it out, he'd probably recognize those things as ships, and I'd just order a full attack to punish such insolence. And surely with an entire fleet some Samurai would have managed to board - and then try and defeat them!

  • ha stupid japs

  • @TheSnoopy88888888

They acted "stupid" because of their pride. If their pride was gone, their life was gone.

  • @IchHassePasswoerter not the samurai, the stupid japs with the guns

  • @TheSnoopy88888888 lol, then accept my sincere apologies :)

  • @TheSnoopy88888888

    Ah, I understand^^

    sorry

  • @TheSnoopy88888888 They lost their lives but seems like you lost your soul bro. Sorry for your loss.

  • @coldblood26 lol, the other japs coldblood, the retarded ones with the guns

  • Comment removed

  • Ken Watanabe was the real star of this film!

  • Samrai vs Sparta

    its will be EPIC :)

  • Samurais + Spartans = FUCKING EPIC

  • @Aljianify If they fought they would probably show great respect after... if they fought honorably. Of course, both the samurai and the Spartans were known for being very arrogant but if they looked beyond that... you know what, it's just a nice thought. They would both be very worthy foes. :)

  • I'm putting any comment relating to Shogun 2: Total War to spam.

  • @RoyalDog214 cool

  • Tom should play at The Last Gnome movie, not Samurai:)

  • dude so sad :(

  • *Open Steam*

    *Play Shogun 2: Total War*

  • @He101A

Of course they did. They are after all trying to present the classic under dog story and romanticize the samurai despite them being quite corrupt.

  • Seriously people watch the entire movie to find out why a white dude is in it.

  • @DJ53151 more or less. either different clans or they just specialize in that type of weapn

  • I've never seen such drivel in my life

  • I want to see beautiful Cherry blossoms when I die.

  • "Hollywood is crazy. Last Samurai starring Tom Cruise? whats next, Last Nigga On Earth starring Tom Hanks?" - Paul Mooney

  • @juliengong1 You made my day x)

  • @juliengong1 I'm not a huge fan of Tom Cruise, but he did an amazing job in this movie. This movie is very underrated and completely amazing because of how it tells of history without being overly graphic or using crazy special effects. I love a movie that with the music alone and just looking at someone's face, you know exactly what they are thinking. This movie was great and touching.

  • @juliengong1 They already made a movie like that, its called I am Legend....staring a black guy

  • @juliengong1 ? so what if tom cruise starrs last samurai?

  • @MegaDobar was that suppose to be rhetorically stupid?

  • @MinhThui42696 no!this is based on true story and ,,last samurai,, was french

  • @juliengong1, LMFAO
