  • The world wouldn't be able to handle this today.

  • @socomXpert1 thats some real talk bro. lil wayne weirdos would be like,"what does he mean by this" "I dont understand why hes being so chill, why doesnt he talk about the bunch of cars he owns?" these kids nowadays wouldnt know what a metaphor in rap is if it hit them and pissed in their faces..and they wouldnt know what hard lives ppl lived back in the day before every rapper was singing about being the boss and owning 6 mansions.

  • @CrissTrainz Yes, you're right. 36 Chambers is a legendary album.. It's just that Illmatic is the MOST legendary album. MOST people agree Illmatic is the best, not all, but most.

  • @AllAbouTheBenjamin95 On my youtube homepage, Illmatic is number 1, i agree that this is the greatest album of all time, we can say 36 chambers is the greatest group album of all time

  • @CrissTrainz yes, i agree with that.

  • @CrissTrainz But would u choose 36 chambers over illmatic.

  • @Juiceish1 That's a hard decision, but i would choose Illmatic

  • @CrissTrainz See i knew u would make the right choice.

  • @Juiceish1 See i knew u would make the right choice.

  • @Juiceish1 are you crazy they both are crazy albums.....36 chambers is a classic...so is illmatic...

  • Nas Illmatic 1994

  • its impossible to have a top 5 list of rappers from 90's they all had different style and flows, today they just all sound the same and no one has their own style. Ofcourse apart from the real underground rappers today which most of people sadly dont know about.

  • its mine its mine its mine, whose world is this?

  • its sad to see a top 5 list without Kool G Rap

  • @McLovinMcNugget definitely. but have u eva heard of k rino. ive just found out about him and hes so underrated. hes mad ill.

  • Best Hip-Hop Album of all time. ILLMATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • If the lyrics on this is "suede tims on my feet" then where did Mac miller get the sample with "nikes on my feet"? Is this not the original song? (and btw I think Mac miller is whack so don't roast me on that)

  • @OPpirate25 Haha me to i don't even use explict lyrics so much... Anyways ''nikes on my feet'' is on

The World Is Yours (ReMix) there you go :D

  • PEACE. I'm not sayin fuck niggas but fuck emm. Check it who cares if naas really did that or not its called being a artist and painting a picture for tha public. Pas really lived his lyrics aand look what happened. So leave it at that shut tha fuck up hit a blunt sip some rosay wit a bitch and have some good sex...100

  • I cant believe Pete Rock made this pianobeat himself, he's a real genius.

Hands down for the greatest producer

  • @Mx5322 What do you mean by himself? He sampled it: Ahmad Jamal - I Love Music.

  • Pete Rock!

  • damn. Nas have better clips in 94' than we in Poland have in 2002 :D

  • was it nasty nas or did he go by nas when he made this song? i taught it was nas

  • @amunrahII

    3.Big L 4. Rakim

  • @ilija97 tupac for ever

  • @ilija97 what about pac?

  • @ilija97 Wheres 2pac and B.I.G

  • @PurbaProductions B.I.G. was overrated. Pac should be like Top 6 though

  • @243Abolerz 2pac is really good and a legend and my favorite , but B.I.G is also good to and one of the best and a pretty chilled out guy

  • @ilija97 seems like youre from new york lol

  • Nas is a legend? really? one album?

  • @MAB9413 It's the greatest hip hop album of all time. and he has other 5/5 4/5 albums. and amazing lyrics on almost every track he's ever recorded... so yea. He's a living legend. I think he's the greatest rapper of all time.

  • @InfamousAct opinion, and hes kind of wack now.

  • @MAB9413 A lot of people think Nas is the best. And Illmatic wasn't his only good album. Ever heard of It Was Written, Stillmatic, Gods Son, I Am..., and pretty much all of his other albums? Just because it isn't popular doesn't mean it isn't a good album. AZ proves that, AZ gets no love, he is so underrated. Nas is the greatest ever. And really?? he is kind of wack now??? have you heard his new song, Nasty?

  • @AllAbouTheBenjamin95 nas isnt better than jay z, tupac, biggie, kanye or eminem...and yea he is. and hey i saw your picture. GO BLUE!!!! lol

  • @MAB9413 Nas is the greatest in my opinion. But do you honestly think Kanye and Eminem are better? I can understand why you think biggie or 2pac are better, even though i dont. But Kanye???? Em??? really?? But yeah, Michigan is the best :P

  • @AllAbouTheBenjamin95 ok you can exclude em, but yes Kanye is a great

  • @AllAbouTheBenjamin95 Eminem maybe be crazy, and raps about insane things at times, but he knows about rap. He raps from his experiences. Which is what rap is all about, putting your troubles and difficulties of life in the ghetto(where rap started) in a poetic form. Eminem knows this and he does this. he chose to rap about HIS hard ships, whether crazy or not, instead of rapping about the millions he's made over the years. And he can rhyme any two words, which is the fun part of the art.

  • @TheUnseen97 I know. I have him 4th all time on my list. Just not better than Nas imo

  • @ilija97 AZ Deserves too be on that. AZ is beast, on a level that matches nas or even better

  • I think most of 90's hip hop deals with the problems of those days.

  • 1. The Notorious B.I.G.

    2. Tupac

    3. Nas

    4. Big L

    5. Eazy-E

    6. Method Man

    7. Ice Cube

    8. Snoop Dogg

    9. Eminem

    10. AZ

  • @Mx5322 you dont know shit about rap if you forgot JAY-Z you scumbagg, theres so many more rappers your forgetting so go flush this list down the toilet.

  • pete rock's magmus opus...his illest beat ever!!

  • @jsaca5519 "self expression and having a good time" is definately not the definition of hip-hop. There is a much more slecific sub-culture associated. I guess some is up to personal interpretation, but regardless how much wishful thinking you cant pick and choose according to personal preference. Seems like you may just be a hater in disguise.

  • "You can't have everything..........where would you put it?"

  • 2 ppl can't have the world.

  • His records were stopped due to the things he was leaking, im not one of those guys on the corner talking about the world will end(they know the truth or something i dont know and i would be glad to hear what they have to say) but listen to his lyrics and you will understand.

A few things he talks about

    Aliens

    illuminati

    the crooks in the government

but i have said enough look into it for yourself

  • this shit is so fucking real damnnnnnnnn.

  • nas the only pillar standing on rap music

  • this is DEF, his best TRACK eva

  • believe in 90s revival. The original golden age hip hop originators are coming back stronger than ever.MCs and producers/beat makers. Kanye is playing an important role with bringing back bass filled beats and jazz sampling. Look for new albums from Goodie Mob, Nas, AZ, Wu-Tang, Method Man, Outkast,The LOX, and a Pete Rock DJ Premier collab album to pave the way.

  • @petahhhhhhh

While I'm just as excited as you are about the 90's revival, i cant help but be excited for the likes of Jay Electronica, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco & Kid Cudi who are bringing something different to the table and are part of the new wave of MC's. J Cole, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y and Lil B have a wayyyy different appeal than the 4 I just mentioned...

    Underground > Mainstream ANYDAY!

  • @petahhhhhhh as good as those albums will be, I doubt they are gonna make a dent. I wish they would but you got people stuck on Gucci and Wayne out there. and the whole new wave of "care free stoner" shit like wiz and Mac Miller that is so half ass.

  • @FreestyleFletcher Dude wth,? You said some real true shit bout Gucci wayne and mac miller so why do you go on doom videos and act like you like them?

  • @OshawaStateOfMind i never said i like them cats. I like real shit like Qwel and lil B. fook dume. that shit sux. meaningless tard mumbo jumbo.

  • @FreestyleFletcher oh okay haha you listen to real music and you dont like doom, its your ophinion so i respect that.

  • @OshawaStateOfMind doom is a wak piece of shit. who cares what I listen to. who am I.

  • @petahhhhhhh why do you think that?

  • The second golden age in hip hop is arriving shortly, believe me.

  • @petahhhhhhh from where, pluto? lol please as long as kids think their "fly" and have "swagger" aint SHIT of real hip hop coming back

  • @jsaca5519 flyness and swagger is part of hip-hop, you new here?

  • @Illlumin kids walking around in vans and hats back aint hip hop, thats lil wayne pop. hip hop at its core, REAL hip hop is about self expression and having a good time.

  • so lyrical with it

  • Even though I don't listen to Nas this is butta!

  • REAL hip-hop right here, none of that faggot ass shit that the radio plays

  • @MoJoThundRpants

can people stop bitching about hip hop every got damn minute? This isn't 06

  • @godofthisshit no shit. it's 2011 and a million times worse.

  • @FreestyleFletcher

Nah Hip Hop is better in 2011 then it was in 06 and the snapping days.

  • @godofthisshit nah. it's shit right now. it will be a golden return in 3 to 5 years. 06 was essential to my pencil. i don't jam J Cole. @thewop4life

  • @FreestyleFletcher yeah, there's a lot more good hip-hop out now then there was in 06. J. Coles new album drops in September..i suggest you get that!

  • @MoJoThundRpants tupac 4 eva

  • Best hip hop ever made and only 99000 views, sad story.

  • Best Song Ever

  • this sounds like it's remastered a bit? the tape and cd i had never sounded as clear as this.

  • My favorite song real music!

  • Completely agree with RaminME, i dont even consider Lil Wayne/Drake/Nikki Minaj rappers. Theyre just fuckin clown entertainers. so if your gonna view a classic nas track on here and start talkin about one of these wanna bes, get d fuck outta here!

  • @JLBHipHop Man can you believe I had never HEARD of any of those cunts before those idiots started dissing them and stating their names on EVERY SINGLE goddamn underground hiphop page. Pathetic. They all bragging about how hiphop sucks now but aren't able to quote 2 artists who are active and got some quality shit out last year. And there's been plenty.

  • lol what 2 idiots gave this a thumbs down?

  • Real Hip Hop!!!!!! King of Rap

  • best mc to ever hold a mic nasty nas

  • just perfect!

  • this is definitly the zone out smoke, and plot the next move song, its untouchable, nothing will ever compare, the only things that evokes the the same feeling and passion is J Electronica's shit

  • this is one of the illiest song i ever heard, perfect beat n lyrics, deep thinking perfect for dis last dayz

  • Why are people calling this old school? this has nothing to do with old school??

  • @roegsmash112 its more like med skool not old but not new...dope as fuk though hip hops best era

  • i fall in love with illmatic

  • N-A-S iz 1 of da best n legendary lyricistz 2 eva touch a mic, excludin nobody. it's like he surpassed evrybody he studuied in his early days n kept it 100% on evry street poem. He's rite, "The World Is Ours" so let's stop supportin WackWolrd rappers n support da real 1's so nobody can balme rap 4 wut itz becam becuz 80% of the world dont support real hiphp no more, juz bein real-Rone, Da Spirit of WI (chek da page out)

  • shit, the day nas dies, i think i may die also...he the last realest rapper alive

  • this aint even old school its just classic hip hop golden era shit you know. lil wayne soulja boy ??!! ha hahahahaaahhaaaaaaaaaaa. embarasing

  • its mine

    >>>>HMMM its MINE)))))))

  • Nas is better than 2pac,everybody wants to go dickeat off of 2pac because he is dead and he had emotion in his voice when he rapped but in reality nas could lyrically kill 2pac in a song.i aint sayin 2pac is wack either just my opinion

  • @Suckafreeteam thats how it is

  • @Suckafreeteam And opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one. 2Pac was a TRUE revolutionary. Nas speaks it while 2Pac lived it. How many cops Nas shot and got off at trial??? And in defense of another man no less. Lyrics ain't everything in life bro. Nas could most def rip it up lyricaly but when it comes to walkin what u talk 2Pac can't b fuked with.

  • @msuttle1904

living it doesn't make you a better emcee.

  • @RelaxednCaIm Living it does make you a better emcee in my opinion. Would you go to church and follow a pastor who doesn't live a Christian life? How about following the advice of Oprah as a nutritionist? There is a lot of respect gained by living what you speak.

  • @msuttle1904

but in reality, there's plenty of pastors who can carry on a good service who don't live by the rules. if oprah gave you good advice on nutrition and it made you healthier, her being overweight wouldn't change it. if you have great skills in your profession, it's not effected by your personal life.

  • the difference between hip hp now and back then is that back then they wrote shit that spoke out about the world and new age hip hop is the same shit money sex and drugs so it doesnt relate to the average person

  • @ramschivaslakers So very true

  • woah i didnt know this had a video much props!

  • Nas > 2pac

  • @XxEAZYxExX old school/underground > new rap

  • @XxEAZYxExX why u people think of who is bigger or better, just listen to the RAP!

  • @XxEAZYxExX

    lol NEVER

  • @stekelkip Dont get me wrong, I think Pac is great and I love his music but do you really think Pac can spit better than Nas?

  • @XxEAZYxExX

    NO

    FUCKIN

    DOUBT

2pac was god, nas and any other rapper just a man

but I think nas is (with ice cube) the best rapper after 2pac

  • @stekelkip 2pac ain't god he was a rapper a good one but he isn't god, there are so many mec's better than him out there

  • why theres 2 videos of the world is yours, and the q tip remix..

  • thats da fucking old school !!!

  • born alone, die alone.....

  • old school metal-old school hip hop- best music

  • 2 jay z fan dislike

  • The best of Nas !!! Love it, real rap !!!

  • This tune is one of the best of all time! beat is pure sickness and Nas kills it always

  • Raw as fuck.

  • whenever todays music is shitty theres always the classic shit that we can turn to

  • glad to have someone like nas to really remind me that real hiphop does excist!

  • NASTY NAS IS THE MAN !!

  • Dead presidents to represent me...

  • opinions...they are like assholes ...every one has one...and if you a slut yours is wide and gaped...and you dont mind putting a few dicks into it at the same time. and if you got money you can pay a doctor to look into yours a couple times a year to make sure you dont got cancer growing up there. but if your just a noob liveing in the ghetto most likely your asshole is unhealthy and got cheap toilet paper stuck to it.

  • i know every rapper says this but for real if u check out my music i have some real hip hop elements not too comercial dont get me wrong im no nas, rakim or guru but im not a hip POP artist either

  • I remember this!!! Nas came out of nowhere....and got his 5 mics from the source LOL!!!!! From the classic album illmatic!!!! When the source said you was hot everyone agreed!!!!

  • NY94STYLE

    peez

  • hip hop is alive in the UNDERGROUND!

people want real hip hop to come back but they are not supporting the underground!

spread the word on some underground artist. people like AKIR, PRINCE ALI (PA) and SIVION.

only young rapper that is getting spot-light that is worth listening to is LUPE!

Lupe got songs like "never lies".

    i mean c'mon now!

  • A 5*STAR CLASSIC JOINT YA HEARD?

  • if i could i would make Rap like this again even though i suck at rapping i would still try and open the path for more people to try and revive rap and kill this mainstream pop rap

  • @killermonkeyto No one can suck at rapping, just focus and be creative.
