despite the alleged imbalance Flash is still nearly unbeaten on Medusa, and I think he had never lost on it before this game. The map is bad for regular terran style but it suits his "Turtle until 2-1 then push" style very well.

flash is the best terran player on dusa with a record of 10-3 on the map. according to team liquid, there are only 2 terran who place top 20 on this map, which is flash in 8th and leta in 14. This map is mainly dominated by zerg and toss

Bisu is insane on this map, he takes all possibilities into account and expands at the right time at the right place...

which is not every player that does that like he does...

Also, I think the 2 psi of tanks is a tad bit low. Bisu was ahead 6 bases to 3 and he still almost got run over during one of the battles, despite god-like storms over an ungodly number of clumped up tanks. He was saved by the onrush of a billion gateway producing zealots.

I mean archons are 4 psi, which makes sense as they're the most powerful unit in the game. But sieged tanks are insanely strong as well. I wouldn't mind seeing them given a 3 psi footprint.

The problem with 'balancing maps' is that it's impossible to take into account the actual skill levels of the players. Sure protoss is dominating now, but would it be a fair map where Bisu won half the time and Flash one half the time if they faced each other? I'd say no, and that Bisu is actually better overall than Flash (and anyone else for that matter). If anything a 'balanced' map would reflect an imbalance in PvT statistics with Bisu v. anyone else.

there is no real "balanced maps" that can be played by any player... the whole game comes in action when the two opponents start to play... and, whether it be Bisu or Jeadong or Hwasin or anyone else, it doesn't matter... StarCraft is primarely a strategy game, so for someone to win is to have the better strategies AND make as little mistakes as possible... it be in a push or deciding the time to have a third or fourth base.

so 'balancing' a map is virtually impossible. making maps harder is.

The whole idea of 'balancing' is to make it harder for one race or another, thus giving each race an equal chance to defeat the other. For example, an abundance of cliffs and ledges gives Terran an advantage over other races, as it is very hard to take out forces sieged up on a cliff, especially if it's near your mineral line.

there's a particular match that has several cliffs and ledges and sieged tanks... the winner was the one who lead the most offensives against his opponent...

whether it'd be PvT or ZvT, i think it would not have changed the result.

Actually Flash was horribly behind after Bisu's double shuttle drop. Cost Flash a tremendous amount of mining time with those scvs, lost like 8 right off the bat, and he lost at least 4 crucial tanks, plus mining time (and cost) repairing the damaged tanks afterward. 8 zealots and a shuttle is a cheap price to pay, considering the tank loss directly led to his first TWO pushes being destroyed.

Flash is upset because he lost to Bisu for the second time this year, and before that Flash was not considering Bisu a threat. He said in an interview for GOMTV before his match with Bisu that he is more afraid of Jangbi and Stork, but he did not mention Bisu. And Bisu also acknowledged the fact that he need to improve his PvT against Flash because historically he loses to him...And apparetnly he did improve and that is why he is so happy and Flash so sad.
